Castelia smiled slightly, looking like she was mocking with the question, "You like to think, I guess you understand what I mean by saying that, don't you?"
True, Bram had but was reluctant to answer because Castelia knew the answer would not be pleasant. Bram's expression was sullen, like an angry ten-year-old child because he didn't get the candy he requested.
"Thank you for keeping your promise to look after me last night even though I didn't ask for it," Castelia said sincerely but sounded ungrateful to Bram's ears.
Bram responded, "Is that how you thank me?"
Castelia joked, she chuckled amusedly in reply, "No, I really do thank you. I may be angry but no one expects to do anything wrong, let alone unknowingly."
"Then you owe me."
"No," denied Castelia without any intention of confirming Bram's words even though she did feel indebted to his kindness. "I'm grateful but I hope we'll never see each other again."
