Suddenly a knock came on the door, "Come in," I shouted as Lexi walked in with her maids holding a box of black shoes. She gave it to me for me to wear and I tried it on, it was just right. There wasn't any space for my toes to move around but it wasn't exactly hurting me. It wasn't heels this time but shoes with little straps on them. They looked quite plain however I was just glad that I could finally wear flat shoes. When I was younger I always wanted to wear heels, I would've never thought in the future I would say I don't want to wear heels. In my last life, I didn't see the point of buying heels to wear so I never ended up wearing them. I always wore flat shoes.
"Where did you get these shoes?" I asked curiously, I don't think that the Grand Duke Manor would buy plain shoes. Perhaps it was a gift. "It was a gift from a distant relative. The shoes weren't my style but I didn't want to hurt the relative so I took it. I suppose you can use it now if you don't mind," explained Lexi as I nodded. These shoes don't look like the ones you would give to the daughter of a grand duke. But it was still pretty.
"So do they fit?" Lexi asked as I shook my head. "There isn't any space for my foot to move around but it's not exactly suffocating my foot," I explained. "Oh, dear. See I was right. He should've brought a sized up," muttered Lexi as I looked at her confusingly. "What do you mean?" I asked in the hope that as a child she wouldn't lie to me. Children aren't good at keeping secrets.
"You heard me?" she asked as I nodded. She wasn't exactly whispering in this already quiet room. "Originally, I was going to tell you. However, he made me promise not to tell you. But since you found out yourself that means I'm not exactly breaking my promise right?" she asked as I nodded. She had a weird way of thinking about things but, it was kind of cute.
"I lied. The shoes weren't a present from a distant relative. We brought it together. This morning we went and brought the shoes at the market that's why they look a bit shabby," explained Lexi. "Whose we?" I asked as she replied "Damian and I,". My mouth opened and I looked shocked. Are we talking about the same Damian here?
"He wanted to get you a pair of flat shoes as you seemed to be having a really bad time with heels yesterday," uttered Lexi. That's so sweet of him. But it feels really weird. Doesn't Damian hate Camilla a lot? So why would he go out of his way to get something for her? That's so weird and sweet at the same time.t..." I stammered "Didn't really think he did that for me but that was really sweet of you guys. Thank you,". Lexi smiled and said that it wasn't a big deal. "You can thank him later, right now we are a bit behind schedule. So if you're done we can hop into the carriage," asked Lexi as I nodded in confirmation. As soon as we reached the main living room downstairs I heard a voice chorusing "Greetings, your Highness," to which a male voice replied asking them to get up,".
Lexi looked at me in confusion and quickly opened the door. As soon as she saw who the person was she dropped down in a curtsy and muttered "Greetings to the star of the empire,". This greeting was reserved for only the crown prince of the kingdom. The King was the sun and the queen was the moon. So this person could only be the first Prince Brandon Elijah Avery. I quickly curtsied after finally realising who he was. "Greetings to the crown prince,".
My eldest brother quickly turned his eyes toward the person who walked in. He finally realised who it was when was already greeting him. He promptly gestured for me to get up by using his hands to support my arms. In which I stood up and had a quick look at him. I noticed he was doing the same thing as well.
Prince Brandon looked precisely like me, while Camilla. He had short blonde hair with curtain bangs just above his forehead, it made him look cuter. His eyes were the perfect shade of golden. There seemed to be a look hidden in his eyes. I would've definitely liked him if he wasn't this body's older brother. Especially since this brother was the only one who went to say goodbye to Camilla when she was being exiled. In the original plot line, he was the first person to find Camilla and the last person who was willing to see her. I kind of feel like Camilla is a pitiful character near the end since none of her family stood up for her, but then again she made her own hole and definitely laid in it. It wasn't anyone's fault except hers.
