Chapter 10 - Contract

Jane lowered her head hearing his words. She had the feeling it was the case. Although Alex showed incredible powers, it didn't feel like he was truly the dean of a big academy.

An academy without a big name or even a newly established academy won't accept her daughter because of her talent. She and her husband had been worried about it for a long time.

Moona's lack of talent didn't just come was by two factors.

Magic and Constitution

Magic could be described as an innate ability that a child had from her birth. It could be an element, supernatural, related to monsters or other races, or even some unique ones.

On the other hand, Constitution could be described as the potential of the body to merge with mana. Just because one can breathe mana doesn't mean that person can simply absorb it.

Tier One Talent can only absorb 10% of the mana into their bodies. It would make their mana training slow. That's why both Magic and Constitution were necessary for a child.

If someone was born with Space Magic. His talent would be off the chart. Even if his constitution was to suck, it would still make him talented enough.

On other hand, if someone was born with Fire Magic, one of the most common magic, his talent would completely depend on the constitution. And, if the constitution was weak, the person wouldn't be talented.

Monna lacked both. Her constitution was horribly weak and her magic was simply basic magic. This was the reason why Jane was shocked by Moona's sudden improvement.

Because even if she trained all night, her body would only accept 10% of the mana she inhales. That's where Heaven and Hell Breathing Style came into play.

It not only allowed her to inhale a large amount of mana continuously but also forced the margining process. It forced the body to absorb mana out of its limit.

That's why it hurt so much. Moona was also very much aware of it.

Jane sighed. At this moment, as her mother, she wouldn't do anything to make her give up. She understood that her daughter was finally getting a chance to improve properly.

She raised her eyes at Alex and said "Since Moona is now your student, it would be impolite to call you by anything else. So, I will simply call you 'Dean'. And, I would like to request on the behalf of my daughter."

Alex was surprised by her tone. He calmly nodded his head and decided to hear her out. But, her words stunned him.

"Dean, I don't know the extent of your powers but I have the feeling that you are very strong. So, if anything happens to our family this week, please take care of Moona."

"Mom!"

Just when Moona tried to interrupt, Jane stopped her by raising her hand and continued "She might not be extremely beautiful or extremely talented. But, she is very versatile. It's not like I don't trust you but just in case you can't open the academy, I still hope you will keep Moona with you."

Jane wouldn't make such a request if it wasn't for the trouble they would face this week. Last night, her husband had already confessed about the upcoming battle.

And, both of them were afraid that they will die in this battle. That's why they want to help Moona escape. As for why they are dead bent on fighting against Vander, it was to release this town from his oppression.

Right now, everyone except for the Vander family was getting poorer and if this continues, the town will cease to exist in less than a year. That's why they wanted to do everything to protect this town.

After all, their parents were born here and also died here. This was their home. And, it was their duty to keep it safe.

"Mom…." Moona didn't argue as she could understand her mother's intention. She was truly scared of losing them. She couldn't help but look at Alex with sad eyes.

"Hah!" Seeing her like this, Alex breathed out. He rubbed his head as if it was bothering him. Of course, it was bothering him. After all, he had just arrived in a town, and now, he had to fight against the Town Chief.

He looked at Jane and said "Is your husband still here? I would like to talk with him."

Jane shook her head "He is not here but he will return in a few hours."

"Alright then! For now, let's drop this topic. We will discuss this properly when your husband arrives. Let's eat something and then I will start the training with Moona again." Alex spoke.

Jane was slightly sad but still nodded her head. She went down with them and asked the maids to serve them food. While they were eating, they didn't talk too much.

After finishing his food, Alex looked at Jane and asked "Is there a training ground where I can teach Moona?"

Jane nodded her head and took him and Moona to the backyard. There was a massive hall. She took them inside and spoke.

"This is a training hall of our family. It has Third Level Array that prevents it from damage. You can easily train here."

"Alright!" Alex nodded his head as he walked to the middle of the hall. Jane didn't stick around and quickly left. After she left, Moona asked "Teacher, are you going to teach me a new spell today?"

Alex shook his head.

"Wait a minute! I will talk to you in a minute."

Saying so, he opened the system store.

[Category- Spell, Weapon, Treasure, Array, Potions, Miscellaneous]

'System, do you have the contract paper?' Alex asked. But, he was slightly worried because it could cost him something. After all, system made it clear that he can't get system's items free of cost.

Suddenly, a new panel opened in front of him.

[Miscellaneous Item- Contract Seal

Description- An empty contract seal that will record the contractor's life sign. Once the contractor dies, the contract seal will burn on its own.

Cost- 5 AP (But considering this was your first purchase, it's free)

'Alright, purchase one for me!'

[Ding-Dong! Your purchase has been successful.]

[You have been awarded a pen for your first purchase.]

Hearing those words, Alex was speechless. But, he didn't think too much and asked the system where the contract seal is.

'Inventory'

After giving the command, a blue screen with dozens of blue boxes inside it appeared. All of the blue boxes were empty except for one. According to the system, he can either pull it out or think it out.

He decided to think it out. When paper and pen appeared in his hand, Moona was surprised. But, she didn't ask anything. He wrote a lot of words on the contract and finally gave it to her.

"This is the contract seal. Once you stamp with your blood, you will be the official student of my academy. Read those rules carefully! If you break any of those, I will personally kill you."

At this moment, Alex's tone frightened Moona. She trembled but still stressed out her hand to hold the contract paper. She turned around and started reading the contract.

There were only five rules.

-No Bad Intention Against the Academy

-Mustn't induce a conflict with anyone without a proper reason

-Once you quit, you need to pay three times of cost that Academy has spent on you.

-Betraying Academy or its staff will result in death.

-Only involve in conflict with staff when you are given the authority.

Seeing these rules, Moona was surprised. These rules were very simple. She didn't have any problem following these. She never thought bad about the academy even though it hasn't been established.

She won't try to pick a fight against anyone without reason. She didn't plan to quit the academy especially when the dean was so handsome.

She will never betray the academy. As for the last rule, she just had to keep this in mind. As the Eldest Student, she knew she would get a lot of authority so as long as she doesn't overstep her boundaries, she would be allowed to do anything except break these rules.

She bit her thumb and stamp her finger on the end. At this moment, her body wasn't trembling anymore as she turned around and handed the contract to him.

Alex looked at the stamp and saw a golden rune appearing at the top of the contract and put it back into his inventory.

"Alright, now we are going to start your training. Since you are the first student, I am going to start from the basics. Today, I plan to finish the basics and from tomorrow, I will focus on increasing your strength."

Moona excitedly nodded her head.

"Since we talked about Mana Breathing Style yesterday, I will give you the basic lessons on Spells, Body Arts, and finally Illusion Techniques today."

"Let's start with Spells or commonly known as Magic Spells."
