Chapter 3 - CHAPTER 3: BIG DECISION

Toku looked at his aunt and noticed that she had a serious look which immediately made him to be nervous because whenever his aunt looked like this, it always mean't she was well serious.

*Ahem*

She cleared her throat and began speaking " I have been thinking lately and I feel like it is time to let you go. Now please don't take this the wrong way bu-" she was about to continue speaking but was interrupted bu Toku. " Please aunt don't push me away, I promise that I will bring back more money if what I brought back before were not enough, please aunt I will-" Toku was immedaitely cut off by his aunt.

" Toku please let me finish first, you are misunderstanding me" Toku's aunt didn't believe that Toku thought so lowly of her, thinking that she would throw him out just because he brought back little money. She could actaully understand him because of what he passed through when he was still little.

She was walking on the street one day when she saw a little boy with pitch black curly dirty hair run past her, the boy had a piece of bread in his hand as he kept on running, and not long after she saw a group of three men running and shouting at the boy. Although the boy was faster he had little legs and was soon caught by the men they beat the little boy up and collected the bread from the boy, the boy was bleeding from him mouth by the time the men were done with him but the boy didn't cry but rather actually consoled himself, stood up and told himself that he will leave this god forsaken place one day but the boy lost consciousness and was about falling but she caught the boy, Looking at the boy's handsome face smiled judging from how lean the boy was she was sure the boy hadn't eaten for days and has been suffering out her on his own, having pity on the boy she took him back to her little house. All this happened nine years ago and ever since then the boy had been more of a blessing than a curse to her so why would she send him away.

" This place is getting more dangerous and your always getting beat up by the duke's thugs so I have decided to send you to a friend in the city so you could enroll in the Integrated Training Institute to become successful in the future" Toku's aunt said while smiling a little. "Really aunt, but why would you send me rather than Kylie who is your own daughter" Toku really didn't know why she would send him to such a place, he knew for her to be able to send him to this institute it wouldn't have been easy to get such an oppotunity and she was wasting it on him not her own daughter. " You see Toku I have been observing you since I brought you in and you have not only proven to be reliable, gutsy and smart but I can see you have a special talent buried deep within you so that why I'm willing to invest in you, don't worry about Kylie I am sure that when you become successful you Kylie and I will be able to leave this god forsaken place, and don't worry about us not being able to cope when you leave we will do just fine, believe me and also Kylie isn't up to age yet" she knew Toku wouldn't agree easily so she had to convince him. Toku kept quiet for a long time trying to digest what his aunt has just said, he really didn't want to go because he deeply wanted to stay and help them but he also knows that in the city there will be more oppurtunities there and she was right he could eventually bring the both of them to city if he becomes successful in the future so gritting his teeth "I will go then" he accepted.

"Thank you Toku, you don't know how much you have helped us" Toku's aunt said while smiling. "It's alright aunt as long as I can help you both I will gladly accept." Toku then reached out to Kylie's face which he slowly caressed it once again which made the little girl smile in her sleep. " Well I should allow you to rest then" Toku's aunt then carried the sleeping Kylie into another room beside the kitchen, leaving Toku alone in what really seemed to be the living room.

After the two left, Toku laid back down on the mat and just stared at the ceiling, at this moment he was thinking about what new adventure he would encounter when he goes to the city, he always heard that the city had clean and neat street with tall beautiful buildings and people dressed in well fashioned cloths, that everyone will be happy and that there will be no form of crime or hardship in the city, this was what he always believed and why he really wanted to go to the city, so that he would experience the joy other felt and dress in exquisite clothes. Only if he knew that reality wasn't as he imagined, everywhere had its own form of hardship and there wasn't a place that could be totally free from hardships. Toku hasn't been to the city so he could only keep on dreaming on how amazing it will be if he went to the city, with this thought in mind he finally drifted off to loose himself in dreamland.
