Chapter 80 - The temple

Rows of wooden benches and desks lined inside the chapel on either side of the aisle. Lanterns hung from handles above each table. They walked the aisle bathing in the light that flowed from the windows on the sides. Christopher looked above and saw Sylphear, the fairy of air painted on the tinted glass; her grey hair and white dress flowing, her golden eyes and her harp shining.

They walked to the dais. Atop a silver platform, they saw two statues carved in grey stone.

The first was a man with smooth hair flowing to his back and a beard that came to his chest. Wisdom flowed out through his eyes and he had a gentle smile. His dress touched the ground and its sleeves were wide. On his left hand, he held an orb and on his right, he held a staff; two snakes tangled and swirled over it.
