THREE DAYS AGO
Veronica tried to maintain balance with the number of people that were shouting, begging her not to jump. She was afraid. She then turned back to the people.
"I don't wanna get hurt anymore... I'm sorry" Veronica said in tears and then she jumped.
VERONICA's POV
The average person can hold their breath for 30 to 60 seconds, and once you run out of breath underwater, your chances are slim. Once you get water in your lungs, your chances of being able to save yourself and get to the surface deteriorates. I couldn't swim. I wanted to jump. I wanted to die. So I didn't want to wave my hands in the air or scream for help. Land was close by, I know, I felt like I wanted to get to the surface once the carbon dioxide got higher than the oxygen in my body.
