"Have you seen what you have caused?
Because of you, the whole world is laughing at me today. Since I came to this kingdom, I have never lost any battle before, but see what you have done. You brought disgrace to this kingdom.
You decide to change the story of this kingdom because of your selfish interest."
King Cheng shouted at prince Junfeng.
"Father! Please remember that you brought up the issue of me getting married to the princess because of your so-called revenge. When you were making the decision, did you ever ask for my opinion?
No! You didn't. I decided to do it my way, and you didn't oppose it. That bastard called Bojing, gave himself to be slaughtered by that monster that calls himself a commander, and you are blaming me?" Prince Junfeng replied harshly.
"Oh! Oh! Now I see. So, you don't want me to blame you because Bojing failed you, right? Why didn't you fight the commander yourself?" King Cheng angrily asked him.
"How was I supposed to fight him when they were demanding me to fight the princess? I had a better plan, but they ruined it, and I was left with no option." Prince Junfeng spoke.
"So you decided to choose the princess over your father. Now you have seen the outcome. I can see that the princess has a better position in your life than I do.
In case you have forgotten, I was the one who sent those spies to that kingdom before we knew that there was a princess.
Keep in mind that I remain your father and the king of this kingdom. Don't let my anger arise against you because you will hate me If I start." King Cheng warned prince Junfeng.
"Why are you blaming me for this?
Was I supposed to fight the princess?"
Prince Junfeng asked his father in anger.
"Answer yourself. All I know is that you are a big disgrace to this kingdom." King Cheng said to prince Junfeng.
Prince Junfeng stood speechless. Although he knew that he had offended his father for not fighting, how will he fight the princess? That's another thing he was considering.
Prince Gen stood there for a few minutes before taking his leave.
"I hate what the prince did today. I felt disappointed for him because he didn't do the right thing, and he knew it".
One of the guards standing outside the entrance said to his colleague.
"I saw the anger in the king's eyes when we were still on the battlefield, but the king just maintained himself." The second guard responded.
"If I was...." The first guard wanted to say something, but when he sighted the man standing beside them, he froze. It was prince Junfeng who had just come out from the king's court.
"Good morning, good evening. Sorry, good day, your highness." The guard stuttered.
Prince glared at the two men standing in his front.
"We are sorry, your highness. The two young men pleaded, but prince Junfeng passed them without uttering a word.
The guards got scared, but they were in shock that the prince went away without uttering a single word to them.
"My princess, you don't have to punish yourself over my condition. I will be fine. Just go to your room and rest for today. I guess you are tired."
Commander Lucifer said to princess Chu Hua.
"Lucifer, I never told you that I was tired, nor did I mention to you that I am punishing myself. You saved my life from those demons, and you expect me to leave you alone after seeing you with these injuries on your body?
No. I'm not that heartless." Princess Chu Hua passionately spoke to him as she insisted on staying with commander Lucifer in his room to look after him.
"My Lady," a herbalist called out from the door, and princess Chu Hua turned and answered him.
"I want to clean his wounds". The herbalist said.
"Alright, come over." Princess Chu Hua replied and shifted from where Lucifer was laying down. The herbalist went over and squatted on his knees and took out the herbs from a small bag he was holding in his hand.
The herbalist began to rub the medicine on the wounds. Commander Lucifer groans in pain as the herbalist continues cleaning up the wounds.
Princess Chu Hua was standing at one side of the room, and she couldn't bear seeing Lucifer groaning in pain.
"Please give me the herbs and show me how to use them on the wounds. I will take over from here." Princess Chu Hua said to the herbalist.
"But My Lady…."
"I will do it and I will be fine. Don't worry." Princess Chu Hua cut in.
After showing her how to use it, she collected it from him and began to clean the wounds gently by herself. And the herbalist left the room.
"You will be fine. You have nothing to worry about. I will always be by your side no matter the condition." Princess Chu Hua whispered to Lucifer's ears.
"My Lady, I have been looking for you everywhere."
Nuo said as she stood at the door entrance. Apparently, the room light was so dim that Nuo never knew that commander Lucifer was in the room and her mind never asked princess Chu Hua about him.
"Any problem?" Princess Chu Hua asked her.
"Not at all. I was scared that maybe those men took you along with them." Nuo said as she took a step into the room.
"But My Lady, why are you in a warrior tunic?" Nuo asked.
"Please Nuo, as you can see, I'm very busy right now. We will talk later." Princess Chu Hua replied.
"Oh my gosh. I'm deeply sorry, My Lady. I never saw him." Nuo apologized for not noticing commander Lucifer's presence. Although, he was so deep in pain that he couldn't utter a word. He wasn't groaning any longer.
"No problem." Princess Chu Hua said.
"Thank you, My Lady." Nuo appreciated.
"I might not come out from this room today. Just do me a favor by bringing my dinner here." Princess Chu Hua said.
"But My Lady, do you think His Majesty will allow it?" Nuo asked.
"Just go and bring it." Princess Chu Hua told her.
"Okay, my princess. But are you not going to take your bath?" Nuo asked her.
"Come along with any gown of your choice. I am taking my bath here."
Princess Chu Hua said to Nuo.
"Okay, My Lady. I will do just that." Nuo answered and immediately went away.
Princess Chu Hua kept cleaning up Lucifer's wounds until there was no blood on his body.
"I thought that the work was meant for the herbalist? Why have you taken his place?"
King Guozhi, who had just stepped into the room, asked Princess Chu Hua.
"Yes, father, I pleaded with the herbalist to show me how to clean and apply the herbs, and he did." Princess Chu Hua responded, and king Guozhi stood confused in the room.
"My Lady, here are the things you ordered for. Good day, Your Majesty." Nuo said to princess Chu Hua and then turned and greeted king Guozhi.
Commander Lucifer lay on his stomach on a mat as he received the treatment from princess Chu Hua.
"Thank you. Please, drop it on the table." Princess Chu Hua answered her.
Nuo was together with a maiden who helped her in holding the loads. They kept the food and a gown on a table, and they turned to leave, but the princess called Nuo back.
"Nuo, please, will the food be enough for us?"
"Yes, My Lady," Nuo answered.
"What about my father's food?" Princess Chu Hua asked Nuo even though the question doesn't make any sense, but she asked so that her father can leave for his dinner. Princess Chu Hua was trying to avoid questions from her father, King Guozhi.
"The food is already on the dining table," Nuo answered with confusion because she wasn't expecting that question.
"Alright, you can go." Princess Chu Hua said, and Nuo and her colleague left.
"Are you going to spend the night here?"
King Guozhi asked Princess Chu Hua.
"Yes, father. Is there a problem?" Princess Chu Hua asked as she paid attention to hear what he would say.
"No. Not at all. I only wanted to confirm it because I also see that clothes are attached to the food that was brought here." King Guozhi responded.
King Guozhi was fully aware that the princess was having true feelings for commander Lucifer, though she would rather not open her mouth to say it out, but it was written all over her face. King Guozhi recalled the day princess Chu Hua asked him about a girl having feelings for a boy.
It was already down and Princess Chu Hua woke Lucifer to eat, but the pain in his body couldn't allow him to stand or sit properly.
Princess Chu Hua supported him to sit. She sat close to him so that he wouldn't fall, and she fed him.
Lucifer gazed at her as he ate the food. This was the first time a woman from another family was feeding him. But Lucifer wondered why the princess was doing all these things for him.
Princess Chu Hua knew that Lucifer had a thousand and one questions to ask her, but he couldn't, and she wasn't ready to voice out her feelings for him. Probably, she was expecting him to say it out and not her saying it to him.
"How are you feeling now?" Princess Chu Hua asked and commander Lucifer nodded.
"I assure you that you will be fine. You can never die now because it is not yet time for you to leave this earth. Your family still needs you.
"Lucifer, I have been waiting for the appropriate time to say this, but it seems like that time isn't coming. I have to say it today. Please, don't say no." Princess Chu Hua spoke as commander Lucifer laid his head on her shoulder.
"I love you, Lucifer. It may sound stupid to your ears that such a thing is coming out of my mouth, but that's the truth and I can't hide it anymore. Please, you can…"
Princess Chu Hua paused for a moment. All those things she has been saying to Lucifer, he didn't hear a single word because he was already far asleep.
