"My beautiful princess, wake up, it's already morning. Come on, wake up, mom wants to feed you. Let's go to the garden and play with my angel."
Those soft and caring words can't be forgotten. Princess Chu Hua was thinking of all the good times she had with her late mother. She can still feel her presence within her, even when the feelings weren't true the way she felt them.
Princess Chu Hua thought to herself, "Mother, That was too early. Why must you pass away and leave me in this evil world? A world that is full of bad people. A world that is full of sorrow. You promised to always be by my side, but cold has taken your place. Where are those, your warming arms? Where are those lovely smiles? When will you come and take me with you?"
All these questions were passing through her mind as she sobbed in tears while sitting in the garden alone. Her mother was the queen of the Cyprus kingdom. A caring queen with a godly heart. A virtuous woman, a good wife, and a mother who knows when someone is in need. A helping soul.
Surely, it's true that good people don't last long on earth, and this was a great loss to the entire kingdom. But no one can question God. He gives and takes life. But if one sees him physically, he might ask him why. However, no one can question him because he is a perfect God.
"My Lady" Nuo, her handmaid, called out, but she couldn't hear her because she was deep in thoughts. Nuo never noticed what was happening, until she saw the princess' tears dropping. Nuo was her handmaid. Anytime she required something or felt lonely, she would call on her, but Nuo was surprised that princess Chu Hua was in pain but didn't inform her about it.
She raised her hand to touch the princess on the shoulder, but suddenly changed her mind.
"I think I should call commander Lucifer. He's the best person that can handle this better than I do." Nuo thought to herself, but didn't know why such an idea came to her mind. But she had a feeling that only commander Lucifer could handle this type of situation because she listens to commander Lucifer and respects him more than anybody in the kingdom except for her father.
"I wouldn't want the king to see her in this condition because he already has his problem on the ground. No, I wouldn't want to give him a heart attack". Nuo said as she rushed to call commander Lucifer.
After receiving the news, commander Lucifer didn't waste a minute as he ran as fast as he could, to the princess.
"My princess, what's wrong?"
Lucifer asked, making princess Chu Hua jump up with fear as she was already lost in her thoughts.
"My princess, you look worried, what's the problem?" Lucifer asked, squatting down to look at her face, but she didn't answer.
He decided to take hold of her hands and put them on his palms. That very moment, she felt like hugging and kissing him, but she was a bit shy and scared.
Shy? Yes, shy, but just a bit.
Her eyes were fixed on the ground as she let out more tears.
She has missed the love of her mother. It has been ages since she gave up the ghost, but her beautiful face, her sweet voice, and her caring hands were still in princess Chu Hua's soul.
"I will forever miss you mother," she muttered.
Lucifer stared at the long hair that was covering her face. He used the tip of his two fingers to take them off. Lucifer took her jaw and raised her head.
He looked into her eyes and sighed in relief. Her pink lips were dazzling with sunlight.
"Only a lucky man can marry her." A slight thought passed through commander Lucifer's mind.
The thought was still there when he suddenly felt her breath closer, as if she was trying to place those pink lips on his.
But Lucifer wouldn't want to try that. The king, the elders, and the remaining people of Cyprus kingdom.
What would they think about them?
Tense filled the atmosphere, but suddenly went cold as a voice interrupted the scene.
"My Lady, are you okay now?" Nuo voice came in.
"Yeah. I'm alright. Wait, you mean you have been around here all this while?" Princess Chu Hua asked with shock.
"Yes, My Lady," Nuo answered.
"She was the one who brought me here, "Commander Lucifer said.
"Like seriously?" Princess Chu Hua couldn't believe it.
"Yeah."
"My Lady, I will talk to you later," Nuo said.
"Alright, see you later then." Princess Chu Hua replied.
Nuo turned and took her leave.
The whole garden was silent for some minutes. " I like the fresh air here," Princess Chu Hua said as she shrugged her shoulders and smiled at Lucifer.
"So do I," Lucifer said.
"But what was making you cry?" Lucifer asked.
"Please, can we just forget about that?"
She replied as she took off her hands from his.
"Sure." He gestured and stood up.
Commander Lucifer walked past her, pacing up and down in the garden.
"Is the king aware of what I told you yesterday?" Commander Lucifer asked.
"No." She answered.
"Do you wish to tell him, or you will keep it to yourself?" Lucifer asked her.
"Forget about that and let's talk about our future." She said,
"Our future?" Lucifer stopped abruptly and asked.
"Eh, I mean…" she tried to say something, but she was confused about what to say. "Just forget it." She finally answered.
"Is it everything you want me to forget about it?"
"Why not?" She said with a smile.
Hmm. Lucifer chuckled.
"Can you please come and sit down?" She said, as she created a space for him.
"Warriors are not meant to sit while on duty," Lucifer replied with a wide smile.
"Oh! I can see." She muttered.
"Yeah."
"Does that mean warriors don't get tired?" She asked, but Lucifer gave her deaf ears.
"Alright, since standing is preferable for you, then no problem." She said as she shrugged her shoulders and then placed her hands on her lap.
"Now tell me, what are your plans towards these so-called bloodsuckers that called themselves human beings?" Princess Chu Hua asked.
"What! Does that mean that you have forgotten what I told you yesterday?" Commander Lucifer asked as he glared at her.
"And which is?" She asked and looked away.
"Wait. Is it that after telling you everything yesterday, someone used a broom to clean it from your brain or what?" Commander Lucifer jokingly asked.
"Oh. Now I remember." She said and gave a hearted laugh, which made Lucifer stare at her like someone who was drunk.
"I don't blame you. Because you're getting married in the next few days, that's why you are displaying your Joy." Commander Lucifer teased her.
Before a second could count, the laughter had stopped, and she gave Lucifer an angry look.
"What do you take me for?" Princess Chu Hua asked Lucifer as she grew angry.
Lucifer never saw that coming, though he knew that she wouldn't be happy if he said that, but he never knew that the anger will lead to a level that can't be controlled.
"I'm deeply sorry." Lucifer kneeled on the ground, pleading. She felt like letting him be, but she can't really see him on the ground kneeling because of her.
"In Fact, he doesn't deserve my mercy. Why will he hurt my heart with such words? If only he knew that I love him, then he wouldn't have said such a thing to me." She thought to herself.
"Alright, stand up, but promise me that you won't try it again," she warned him.
"Never will I," Lucifer replied as he raised his arms in the sky to show the sign of surrendering.
"Promise?" She asked.
"Sure. Promised." Lucifer assured her.
"Now, back to our topic. When are we starting?" She asked.
"But you never told me that you are ready." Commander Lucifer replied as he stood up from the ground.
"Now, I told you. So, what's next?" Princess Chu Hua asked Lucifer.
"Let me see. Please, I want this to be secret. So, where do you think is the best place for us? " Lucifer asked her.
"I think…"
She stopped as she tried to lift her gown that was touching the ground.
"You think what?" Lucifer asked sharply.
Hmmm. Princess Chu Hua sighed in relief and relaxed on the bench she was sitting on and smiled at commander Lucifer.
Lucifer shook his head and said, "I have an idea".
"Huh! You do?" Princess Chu Hua asked.
"Yes, I do," Lucifer responded.
"Where?" She asked.
Give me your hand, let me lead you to the place. He said and stretched forth his left hand, and she took help. He lifted her up and took her out of the garden.
Commander Lucifer took her through a secret road so that no one will be able to see them. But it surprised Lucifer that the princess didn't hesitate to follow him, even to ask questions, she didn't.
"But are you convinced that this plan will work?" Princess Chu Hua finally asked Lucifer.
"Don't worry, when we get there, you will know whether it works or not." Commander Lucifer assured her.
"Are you scared?" Lucifer asked her.
"No. I'm not. Who knows if you are a spy, pretending to be one of us,"
Princess Chu Hua whined to him.
"Am I a spy right now?"
"No. I'm just asking, that's all." Princess Chu Hua responded jokingly.
"I think this is the second time you are calling me a spy." Commander Lucifer said with a serious tone.
"This is your problem. You always get me wrong." She said as she took off her hand from his. She stood still and crossed her arms on her chest.
"Why did you take off your hand? Commander Lucifer asked her, but she didn't reply to him, so he decided to take it again as they proceed to where only the both of them know.
