Chapter 29 - TIDES OF RAGE AND REASON

The tension in the room was palpable, a battle of ideologies about to unfold. Fury, triggered by the attack, underwent a dramatic transformation. Her hair ignited into a scorching red flame, her body expanded and became covered in dragon scales, with volcanic chains protruding from her back. Her eyes blazed with an intense, fiery rage.

Michael, not to be outdone, prepared his transformation with a grim ritual. He pulled a sharp gold stake from his jacket and, with a swift motion, drove it into his palm. Dark clouds gathered ominously overhead, a monstrous storm brewing as lightning and thunder ravaged the city. The Big Five remained unaffected, their focus unwavering.

As Fury's transformation completed, she launched an attack with explosive power and speed, aiming to overwhelm Guion. He responded with equal determination, placing his right hand on the ground to summon a chain of sharp bones that surged toward her. However, Fury countered with a torrent of magma that incinerated the advancing bones and scorched the earth.

Realizing the danger, Guion leaped into the air, performing a high, twisting flip to evade the magma, only to find himself directly in Fury's path as she unleashed a massive dragon flame. Instinctively, he shifted his strategy, transforming into the Blind One. His eyes glowed with a strange, otherworldly light, preparing to face the formidable challenge ahead.

In the ensuing chaos, the battle between ideals and brute force reached its zenith. Guion, now in his transformed state, was ready to confront the wrath of Fury and the relentless storm conjured by Michael. The clash of titans was set to reshape the fate of their world.

As Michael staggered to his feet, the burns from his battle with Rage still smoldering on his skin, Guion stepped forward with a calm resolve. "I'm not here to fight you," he said, his voice steady. Michael paused, a flicker of irritation crossing his face. "You seem to think you're in a position to negotiate," Michael retorted, his voice dripping with contempt. "Your ignorance is aggravating."

Guion, acknowledging the anger in Michael's eyes, laid down his guard as a gesture of goodwill. "I know you're angry. I am too," he said, his tone sincere but firm.

Michael's response was sharp, "That is no reason I shouldn't kill you where you stand." "My fight is with Julius," Guion replied, "He has created a cycle of hatred that must be stopped at any cost. Don't make this about you. You and I are brothers by nature." Michael's eyes narrowed. "You killed Fear. You are not my brother."

Guion's gaze remained steady. "You think killing me will bring you peace. I thought the same when I killed, and I assure you, there is no satisfaction in it.", "I do not plan to lose someone else because of something so pointless," Guion said, his voice unwavering. "I am the rightful king of Overwhelm, but I am also human. That is why I cannot pick a side."

He continued, "One of the greatest qualities of being human is our ability to share our pain. A human heart was never designed to withstand such stress, and yet, some manage to cope. The real human will break over the most trivial things. But we have a remedy for our suffering a shoulder to cry on.

Just as an antidote is made from poison, the shoulder that gives comfort can also be the source of our suffering."

Guion's words grew heavier, "The wounds that hurt the most are those inflicted by the things we hold most dear.

Wherever there is love, there are problems. From birth, people do not love in the same way, which is why one person's death can be another's salvation. If killing were the only solution, there would be no one left. This is where the concepts of forgiveness and forgetting arise.

Time heals all wounds, and there is no amount of pain that cannot be healed.", "Stand down now," Guion implored. "A fight between us will surely end in disaster. You still have family. They can heal your pain. Don't sacrifice them for the sake of your power."

Tears welled up in Michael's eyes as he struggled with his inner turmoil. His gaze shifted from Guion to Julius, who urged him with a harsh command. "Don't let him get in your head. Kill him before it's too late."

Michael looked back at Guion, his resolve wavering. "You heard him. This is no longer my fight."

He began to walk away, heading back toward the White House. His final words echoed with a somber promise. "Humanity is cursed to relive the mistakes of its predecessors. Should a time come when you face us again, I will end the world, and you will watch without action.

Or perhaps, I'll kill you too."

With that, Michael vanished into the distance, leaving Guion and Julius in a moment of uneasy silence. As the tension dissipated, the world seemed to return to normalcy, but the echoes of their encounter would linger in their minds, a haunting reminder of the fragile line between vengeance and redemption.

As Royer and the Five-Star General stood facing each other, the tension in the air was palpable. The general's expression was stern as he spoke, "My name is Sionis Care, the Big Five's strongest general."

The Five-Star General, having observed Royer's previous battles, acknowledged him with a hint of admiration. "I've been watching you fight. I saw with my own eyes as you took down three of our generals. If I hadn't witnessed it myself, I wouldn't have believed it. For that, you have my eternal respect," he said, his voice carrying a weight of sincerity.

Sionis then pressed Royer about his extraordinary abilities his power to attack from a distance, using space as a medium to teleport. It was an ability possessed solely by the Big Five, which made Sionis suspicious. "Who are you, really?" he asked, his eyes narrowing in scrutiny.

Royer replied with a confident smirk, "Prince Royer. I am Fear."

For a moment, Royer felt a surge of power and certainty in his declaration, but then, confusion clouded his mind. "What the... Why do I feel like I just said something strange?" he muttered.

"You said you were Fear," Isabella chimed in, her voice tinged with concern. "Fear is one of the Big Five."

Sionis, filled with regret, looked at Royer with a newfound respect. "Under normal circumstances, I would be taking orders from you. I apologize for the way we've been forced to meet."
