Chapter 74 - Chapter 74

"What?! Ten years?" Evie asked Selina.

"Quiet," Selina ordered and Evie's attention trained back to the magical orb.

"What if I refuse?" Alaska asked.

"You can't refuse Alaska. My son has suffered enough and have you forgotten that I am the she devil of this kingdom?" Alice asked.

After a long stretch of silence, Alaska agreed and ordered two guards to get Ezekiel out of the dungeon.

Evie could not stop the stubborn tears which were flowing down her eyes as she watched the way Ezekiel flinched and groaned in pain as they tended to his wounds.

God he suffered a lot.

"You now have an idea why Ezekiel is the way he is today," Selina said as she turned to face Evie who was crying.

"Now I understand why he turned out to be like this," Evie muttered still in tears

"I have a question Selina," Evie told her.

"Go ahead and ask," Selina replied.

"What exactly is Ezekiel?" Evie asked.

"Time would tell. With time everything would be revealed to you Evie, no need to rush," Selina responded.

Evie was about to say something but Selina beat her to it.

"Your time is up here, you have to go," Selina said and before Evie knew what was happening a great force took her away.

*******

The blinding lights flashed at her face, causing her to shut her eyes tight again.

Evie opened her eyes again and it readjusted to the lights.

She sat up on the comfy bed and looked around her only to see everyone around her.

"Thank goodness you are awake," Juicy was the first to come at her.

"I thought something bad happened to you, you got us worried," Alice added.

"You had been crying and I don't know what happened to you," Paul continued.

Crying? She was only crying in that weird dream, how was that even possible?

"I need to see Ezekiel now," Evie muttered as she tried to get out of bed but Alice stopped.

"Ezekiel is the last person you need to see now, Evelynn. All you need is rest," Alice told her.

"No, I need to speak with Ezekiel ASAP," Evie said, ignoring Alice completely.

"You can Evie, he is not even around," Juicy chipped in but was only shocked to get a glare from Evie in response.

"I need to be alone," Evie muttered quietly as she shut her eyes.

"But we can't leave you here all by…"

"Please," Evie pleaded and that got all of them leaving.

Evie breathed in a sign of relief before she turned her attention to the drip connected to her hand and took it off in just one move.

Evie was able to leave the hospital without questioning because she impersonated a nurse who she sent a huge sum of money to help her out of here.

She knew that Alice would never allow her out of here in search of Ezekiel. Yes, what he did was totally wrong but he wasn't to be blamed totally.

Taking a deep breath in and out she flagged down a taxi who took her to her destination.

Her home.

"Ma'am?" Alexa called out, she had heard that Evie was involved in an accident and was unconscious so she was surprised to see Evie walking towards her.

"Where is Ezekiel?" Evie asked.

"I don't know ma'am but he isn't home," Alexa replied instantly.

"Where can I find him?" Evie asked, feeling impatient, it was just a matter of time before they figure out she was missing.

"You should check his house in the countryside, master likes it there a lot," Alexa replied honestly.

"Alright, thank you. Do not forget to text me the address," Evie stated and left before Alexa could form a reply.

Evie ran as quickly as her legs could take her and flagged down a cab.

"To the countryside," she ordered and the driver hit the road.

The ride took about thirty minutes but it felt like eternity to Evie who was really desperate to get to her destination.

She just hopes that he is there just as Alexa told her.

She paid the driver a huge sum of money and the man tried complaining but she did not have time to waste.

Surprisingly, there was no fence, no security guards to stop her which was kind of weird. With every step she took her heart beat faster.

Bracing herself, she rang the doorbell but got no response, she tried all over and all over again but no response.

Summoning up the courage she needed, she pushed the door open and was stunned to find it open.

Okay, what is going on?

She moved into the house that gave view to a very beautiful living room though it was nothing compared to the one in their house, it was small yet enchanting.

She looked around to see if she would find Ezekiel but no one seemed to be around. There was a mini staircase that led to a room which Evie entered and nothing was there.

Okay? This was getting creepy.

She walked straight ahead down the dark hall as she searched for Ezekiel but there was no one.

Just as she was about to give up, she heard the sound of things crashing and followed the direction the noise came from.

She knew what she was doing was stupid but she had to try. She needed to talk with Ezekiel. A very meaningful one.

She pushed the wooden door open only for a jaw to drop.

Ezekiel was unrecognisable as he was crashing things in the room and messing the whole place up.

Gosh! What was happening to him?

Ezekiel grabbed the flower vase and was about to crash it on the ground when Evie came running to him.

"No stop Ezekiel, ahhh!" She yelled in pain as the slippery floor caused her to fall and bit just that but her head came in contact with some broken pieces of bottle on the floor.

"Evelynn," Ezekiel rushed toward Evie was still on the floor, groaning in pain.

"Ezekiel," she muttered as she took his outstretched hand and stood up but then the impact of the fall caused her not to stand erect.

"Sit," Ezekiel ordered her as he took her to a nearby sofa. He left and came back with a glass of water for her which she finished in one drink.

"What are you doing here?" Ezekiel asked, his gaze fixed intently on her.

"I am sorry for accusing you wrongly without hearing your own side of the story," Evie apologized, causing Ezekiel to cock an eyebrow.

"What do you mean?" Ezekiel asked not understanding what Evie was telling him.

"I know everything that happened to you and your brother; Elijah. I am the supposed one in the prophecy," Evie said.

Ezekiel froze.
