Evie was clad in a grey hoodie and black sweatpants, she packed her hair in a high ponytail with few strands of her front hair falling on her face.
She then took her clutch purse which was on the table and went for the door.
When she arrived in the sitting room, Ezekiel was already seated with a glass of smoothie on his hands while his gaze was on his iPhone.
She walked up to him and he noticed someone was in his front, he gradually raised up his head only to see his wife standing before him.
A smile crept on his face unconsciously and Evie liked it, maybe this marriage wasn't a bad idea at all.
"Let us go," Evie told him as she took his outstretched hand and walked like a couple to the parking lot.
Ezekiel opened the car door for her like a gentleman and she smiled in return before getting into the car. He then shut the door and went to the driver's seat.
The ride to the shopping mall was quiet, it was only the music that played while Evie hummed along with it.
She shut her eyes and relaxed very well on the car seat and she hummed along.
"We are here," Ezekiel announced and Evie's eyes flew open and instantly alighted from the car.
The place was big, like very very big! The land mass was huge as well as the building. God this place costs a fortune.
"Wow, whoever owns this place is really wealthy," Evie muttered and Ezekiel heard it loud and clear.
"It is mine," Ezekiel stated with pride and Evie almost choked on her saliva.
What in the name of God did he just say?
"So you mean you own this place and I am technically the boss lady?" Evie asked, surprised at the new revelation.
"No," Ezekiel answered causing Evie to frown but before she could say anything, Ezekiel pushed her closer to his body and whispered into her ears,
"You are not technically the boss lady, you are the boss here."
His words caused butterflies in her stomach and it took everything in her not to hug him so tight.
"Good morning sir," the two security guards at the door greeted Ezekiel simultaneously as they bowed their heads.
Ezekiel only nodded his head as one of them proceeded to open the door for them.
The whole mall was fascinating and oddly… empty! What was going on? Why is a big mall like this not crowded with people?
Evie could not get an answer for all her unending questions.
"Good morning sir Ezekiel," a female attendant greeted Ezekiel but he only nodded his head as a response to her greetings.
"My wife is here for a dinner gown, get her the best and most expensive," Ezekiel instructed her.
"Yes sir," the woman replied and gestured for Evie to follow her.
Ezekiel busied himself with his phone as he waited for his wife to come out of the dressing room.
After what seemed like ages, the door finally opened.
Evie was dressed in a royal blue straight gown which barely covered her firm and full breasts, it had a deep vee cut at the back and had it slit up to her mid~thigh. The front of the dress was embedded with heavy looking yet beautiful stones and Evie knew that there were real diamonds. The off shoulder revealed her slender neck as well as her shoulder.
"How do I look?" Evie asked as swirled around and she was surprised that she wanted to know Ezekiel's reaction.
"Turn around," his voice was harsh and Evie could not do anything but obey.
"Face me again," he ordered and she obeyed confusingly.
"You haven't replied," Evie reminded him.
"Is there not any other better gown than this?" He asked with anger in his tone.
"What?!" Both the attendant and Evie screamed together.
"What happened?" Evie asked and Ezekiel's gaze landed on the attendant who took that as a cue to leave them alone.
"What is wrong with this beautiful gown like this?" Evie asked.
"If you want to dress like this for the wedding then you wouldn't go at all. I don't want all the men at the wedding to be looking at you," Ezekiel explained and the realization dawned on Evie.
Her husband was jealous. It felt good to have a possessive husband.
"It is just a wedding, at least no one would be able to…"
"My decision is final. You are not wearing this," Ezekiel interrupted her and she fell silent.
Evie went back to the dressing room with the attendant to change.
Evie came out wearing a silver mermaid gown which had a vee neckline and long sleeves embedded with shiny beads.
"This feels more like it, and trust me, you look gorgeous," Ezekiel said as he smiled at her.
After packaging the gown, they left the mall. As the gentleman Ezekiel is, he opened the door for Evie to get in.
"Where are we going?" Evie asked after she noticed that Ezekiel was not following the route to their house.
"Somewhere," Ezekiel replied, his gaze was still on the road.
After a few minutes, they arrived at a big restaurant and Evie knew at once that it belonged to Ezekiel because of the name.
The Owens restaurant.
Evie silently followed Ezekiel into the restaurant and made their orders. Again, this place was eerily quiet and empty.
"Ezekiel, if I may ask, why is the restaurant empty?" Evie asked.
"I booked the entire restaurant," Ezekiel replied casually.
"What?! Why?!" Evie asked.
"It is for the both of us, so enjoy your meal," Ezekiel told her.
Evie took a deep breath in and dug into her meal.
"So what are you going to wear for the wedding?" Evie asked.
"I would definitely find something casual," Ezekiel replied nonchalantly.
"Sorry my dearest husband but I don't want you to look casual," Evie said, flashing him a smile.
Ezekiel stiffened on his seat, this was the first time his wife called him, her husband and not just that but she added 'dearest.'
God! This felt so good!
"Why?" Ezekiel asked, trying to contain his joy.
"Well, it is because I want to show you off to the whole wide world," Evie responded, earning a soft chuckle from Ezekiel.
"It is alright, how about you choose an outfit for me from my closet, you are welcomed anytime, anyday," Ezekiel made known to Evie.
What was happening to him? He didn't know but one thing was for sure, it felt good.
"Alright, I would do just that and I think it is high time we left, I want to get some rest, it has been a long day," Evie said.
Ezekiel took Evie's arms as they walked out of the restaurant only to bump into someone.
"Hello darling, I have missed you so much," Gracie said as she kissed Ezekiel fully on the lips.
