Chapter 72 - Chapter 72

The whole world seemed to come to a halt for Evie as she felt a thousand swords piercing through her heart all at once. Her eyes clouded with tears as she unconsciously took a step backwards.

Evie did not know what happened but she only ran away towards the main road.

She was so blinded by tears that she did not see the upcoming vehicle nor did she hear the passersby yelling at her.

The last thing she remembered was screaming and the screeching of tyres.

Black out.

Ezekiel did not know what happened but one minute, he was having the best of time with his wife only to meet Gracie who took advantage of him by kissing him and then Evie got hit by a vehicle.

Could his day get any worse?

He hurriedly advanced towards Evie who was already crowded by people only for someone to stop him.

Gracie.

"What is it Gracie?" Ezekiel asked with so much anger.

"What? I only kissed you, is there a problem with that?" Gracie asked, feigning innocence.

"Gracie, I was with my wife and you knew that yet you did what you did," Ezekiel said.

"Yes, I was jealous," Gracie admitted.

Ezekiel took a deep breath in and out before leaving but Gracie stopped him again.

"Where are you going?" Gracie asked.

"To rescue my wife of course," with this Ezekiel left her sight.

Evie was taken into the theatre while the doctors asked Ezekiel to stay and wait for them outside the theatre.

He sat down with his face buried in between his laps and prayed that all would be well with Evie.

He never believed in miracles but here he was actually praying for a miracle to happen.

He monitored the movement of both nurses and doctors but he never asked of Evie, he would definitely wait for them to approach him first.

Taking a deep breath in, he looked by the side only to see Juicy, Paul and Xander approaching him.

Great! They must have heard about the accident.

Pah! Pah! Pah!

The sounds of triple slaps landed in Ezekiel's face courtesy of Juicy who was burning in rage.

"How dare you?" Juicy yelled as she raised her hand to slap Ezekiel for the fourth time but Ezekiel caught her wrist.

"I appreciate the triple slap but I think my face can't accommodate more than that," Ezekiel told her.

"Oh really? You don't deserve a triple slap but a beating of a lifetime," Juicy yelled, causing Xander to close her mouth with his palm.

"I think that is enough for now," Xander told Juicy and dragged her away from Ezekiel leaving Paul all alone with him.

If Juicy was burning in rage then the real she devil herself was here to destroy him.

Ezekiel watched his mother walk up to him with an offensive look and like the tigress that she is. He knew that he was getting it from her today.

Before Ezekiel could say a word or rather do something, her designer's bag smashed his face, next was a blow earning a gasp from the people around.

"You son of a biscuit!!!!" Alice yelled as she kept punching him.

"Why can't you ever be perfect?" Alice asked.

"Yes, I can't be as perfect as Elijah, the chosen one," Ezekiel replied as he took two steps backwards, feeling all worked up.

"I can't be Elijah, I am Ezekiel!" Ezekiel made known to Alice as he tried holding his tears at bay.

That action stunned everyone and Alice momentarily forgot she was angry, she now regretted those words she said.

Ezekiel walked away from them because he did not want to break down in front of them.

"What just happened?" Juicy asked.

"I think Ezekiel just got emotional," Paul replied.

Evie found herself walking in an empty field but stopped when she saw a white building and entered the building.

The place had an ancient look and she wondered where she was. Suddenly an elderly woman who was dressed in a white medical gown appeared before her and she was startled.

"Who are you?" Evie asked, stepping backwards defensively.

"I am your godmother, Evie. Welcome back to where you belong," the woman greeted her.

"Where I belong?" Evie asked, looking around, she doesn't belong here.

"Yes milady, come with me," the woman outstretched her hand for Evie.

"Why the fucking hell should I follow you?" Evie asked.

"Language young lady," the woman cautioned her.

"Are you coming with me or not?" She asked and Evie only nodded as she took the woman's hand and went deep into the building.

"Where are we?" Evie asked.

"The spiritual realm," the woman replied.

"Why am I here?" Evie asked.

"To get a few points about your mission," the woman replied.

"What mission?" Evie asked but the woman did not answer.

"Who are you?" Evie asked.

"My name is Selina," the woman replied.

"What am I here for," Evie asked after taking a deep breath in and out.

"As I said, you have a mission ahead of you and you need to know how to go about that. It is quite appalling that you are the one in the prophecy," Selina said with a small chuckle.

"What prophecy? What mission? What is going on? Why are you speaking in riddles?" Evie unintentionally snapped at her.

"Take it easy young lady," Selina cautioned her.

Evie sighed as she looked away, "come," Selina took her hand and walked inner.

"I am about to show you something you have to know about Ezekiel. You would only be able to understand him when you see this," Selina told her and she only nodded.

The magical orb began to play when Ezekiel was burning in hell and getting whipped by some group of people.

Evie gasped as she watched.

"What happened to him?" Evie asked in tears.

"Ezekiel is getting punished for what he did," Selina replied, still looking at the magical orb.

"Why?" Evie whispered, losing her voice to speak.

"He brought it upon himself, you have to watch to know everything that happened," Selina made known to her.

Would she be able to watch this?
