"It is okay, you are making me emotional," Eden complained, still rubbing her back.
"It is just that I missed you so much uncle, it has been so long," Sonia kept on crying bitterly.
"I know, it is quite unfortunate that I had to let you go," Eden added, trying his best not to tear up.
"I missed you so much uncle Eden, do you know how much I longed to see you?" Sonia asked.
"Did you also long to see me?" A voice echoed behind them causing Sonia to whip her head around with full force.
"Uncle Axel?" Sonia's voice cracked. Though Axel wasn't as friendly as Eden, he never wished her bad, in fact, he had her best interest in his heart. Both her late father; Daniel and Axel were very strict, Eden was the only friendly person amongst them.
"Avery," Axel called as she rushed over to him and engulfed him in a bone crushing hug.
The man stumbled backwards due to the force Sonia used in hugging him, he was still not used to hugging people.
"I can't believe this, I can't believe that I am actually among you guys today, I never thought this day would ever come," Sonia lamented.
"It is alright Avery, let us settle down," Axel said and that was the cue Sonia used to break away from the embrace.
Eden's staff served them wine as they sat down comfortably in silence.
"Avery, can you explain the meaning of your death?" Axel asked, dropping the wine in his hand on the side stool.
Sonia dropped hers as well and folded her hands at her chest, leaning on the sofa.
"Everything I am doing is for a purpose," Sonia replied.
"That includes you faking to your death?" Eden asked, still not pleased with the information.
Sonia exhaled deeply. "Uncles, Laura is the problem of this family—"
"That we know," Axel interrupted her.
"No, you don't, if you have an inkling of what Laura had done then you wouldn't think twice ending her life, Laura is more deadly than you think," Sonia stated.
"What exactly has she done?" Eden asked calmly.
"If you ever have an inkling of what she has done then you would not spare her life," Sonia stated.
"If Laura is as dangerous as you claim, you think that she won't hurt you?" Axel asked, earning a chuckle from Sonia.
"You are a really smart uncle, and at the same time you are right, she tried to assassinate me today," Sonia said casually.
"What?!" Both men were stunned.
"Why would Laura try to kill her own daughter?" Eden asked, refusing to believe what Sonja just said.
'Why wouldn't Laura try to assassinate me when she had a hand in her husband's death?' Sonia asked inwardly.
"She is wicked and heartless," Sonia replied, sipping her wine.
"We have to send you away from here, ASAP," Eden stated, causing Sonia to chuckle.
"Uncles, I have a plan to eradicate Laura Kings, all I need is your full support," Sonia stated, "please," she added.
"What if the plan fails?" Axel was the one who asked.
"Then I would switch to plan B," Sonia replied.
"Just be careful. Come to think of it, how is your husband?" Eden asked, that question made Sonia stiffen.
"Can we not talk about him?" Sonia asked, flexing her jaw.
"Avery," Eden called her name warningly.
"Fine. Richard Tan, my ex husband, works for Laura Kings. We might seem to be one happy family on TV but the truth is Richard is abusive and does not take my feelings to heart. He is a greedy asshole who would do anything for money, even if it costs my happiness," Sonia explained.
"Then why did you decide to stay in the marriage?" Eden asked.
"Because of my daughter Evelynn, she is the only reason why I was still in the marriage," Sonia replied.
"Where is she?" Asked Axel.
"She is married and her husband is capable of protecting her," Sonia replied.
"Who is her husband?" Eden asked, causing Sonia to freeze.
"Ezekiel Kai Owens," Sonia replied.
"What?!"
Meanwhile,
Evie was currently in the kitchen preparing soup for her arrogant husband, her punishment was quite funny. She had her earpiece connected to the phone that Ezekiel got for her and did she forget to mention he got her a laptop and iPad. Brand new ones!
Evie danced to the tune of the music as she cooked, it felt surreal.
"No one told me you also dance," Ezekiel, who had been leaning in the door, said. Evie quickly took off her earpiece and glared at him.
"I only thought you could sing," Ezekiel added.
"You are disturbing my peace, Ezekiel," Evie told him.
"Really?" Ezekiel cocked an eyebrow, recently Ezekiel had been so easy going with Evie.
"What do you want now? As you can see I am preparing your soup as requested," Evie said.
Ezekiel only smiled and turned to leave but halted in his tracks. "You have a beautiful voice and you can dance perfectly," Ezekiel said and before Evie could comprehend what happened, Ezekiel was nowhere to be found.
Ezekiel left as soon as he said those words. The walls he had been building for years now in his heart were gradually yet steadily collapsing. How was that possible? He was supposed to be immune to her but here he was wanting to spend more time with her.
She is dangerous for him and he knew that, he can't afford to have a weakness, his enemies would target her.
Speaking of his enemies, he hadn't checked the kingdom for weeks now thanks to his wife. On the bright side, his father is still in charge but that didn't stop him from feeling guilty, he was a prince and his responsibility was to protect his kind.
Ezekiel found himself in his room, staring outside the window, that was his favourite position.
The door to his room opened and someone walked into his room freely.
"Your soup is ready," Evie announced as she turned to leave.
"Where are you going?" Ezekiel asked, smirking at her. Evie knew that look was mischievous.
"What now?" Evie asked.
"Remember that the punishment says you have to feed me," Ezekiel stated and all smiles on Evie's face vanished.
