Chapter 65 - Chapter 65

"What?!" Evie yelled loudly.

"Why are you yelling? You knew about this all along," Ezekiel stated calmly.

"I never thought you meant it," Evie retorted.

"Sorry to disappoint you Evelynn but I mean everything I say," Ezekiel said with no trace of emotion on his face.

"Fine. Sit," she ordered him and surprisingly obeyed without complaining.

Evie fed him quietly but also not without blushing, anyone who saw them in this position would think that they were madly in love with each other.

Speaking about being in love, Ezekiel has been lenient with her and dropped his guard around her. It feels good but yet awkward and creepy as well.

"Earth to Evelynn," Ezekiel's deep voice filled the entire room.

Evie sighed as she turned her attention to Ezekiel. "I am sorry, just lost in my thoughts," Evie apologized instantly.

"You need to stop overthinking, it isn't good for your health," Ezekiel told her.

The awkward silence in the room was really disturbing Evie as she fed Ezekiel. There was this joy in her heart when she realized that Ezekiel was changing towards her gradually.

She remembered Alice's words about redeeming Ezekiel but how would she do that when she doesn't even know what he is suffering from? Maybe she would ask her later.

Ezekiel's phone rang and his gaze shifted to it. Evie noticed how his gaze softened when he looked at the caller ID and was curious to know who that was.

Stretching her neck to see who it was, she saw 'Gracie' boldly on the screen.

Ezekiel smiled as he took the phone and was about to pick the call when he realized that his wife was nearby. A low growl escaped his lips.

"Who is that?" Evie asked, she was having this unsettling feeling about this caller.

"Someone," Ezekiel replied bluntly as he put his phone into his pocket and stood up to leave.

"Where are you going? You haven't finished your food," Evie said, causing Ezekiel to halt in his tracks and turn to face her.

His face became expressionless as usual. "I am going somewhere important and that soup wouldn't be a barrier," Ezekiel said coldly and left leaving Evie all alone.

Evie was glued to her seat, she blinked severally because she was unable to comprehend what happened.

"Gracie," she muttered under her breath. She wanted to know the relationship between Gracie and Ezekiel but then she couldn't leave the house and follow him. Also she couldn't ask any of the workers in the house to do that for her because they are all loyal to Ezekiel.

'F*ck' Evie cursed as she left Ezekiel's room to hers. She walked to and fro, thinking of what to do, then an idea hit her.

She quickly brought out her phone and called Juicy.

"Hi Evie, seems like you got a new phone," Juicy stated.

"Hello Juicy, this is no time for pleasantries, I want you to help me track Ezekiel, he is up to something I don't know about," Evie said.

"Alright, let me see what I can do," Juicy told her before ending the call.

Time passed by, yet no sign of Ezekiel nor has Juicy sent her any report of his whereabouts.

Suddenly a notification beeped on her phone. It was a message from Juicy, more like a video clip. She quickly played the video.

Ezekiel was seen parking his car in the parking lot of a hotel, he then walked into the hotel and there was this gorgeous woman waiting for him. She said something to him that Evie could not hear. Ezekiel kissed the lady she assumed to be Gracie full on the lips and both of them continued to act lovely to each other as they headed to the hotel's bar.

She watched the way Ezekiel talked to her with some much affection in his eyes, the way he smiled at her, a smile that Evie had never seen, the way his hands trailed all over her body in a seductive manner.

Tears streamed down Evie's face, she tried stopping it but it kept on falling. Just then her phone rang and it was Juicy, she must have also watched the video.

Evie did not need anyone's pity or sympathy, so she simply switched off her phone and layed on her bed, using the blanket to cover up herself.

Evie did not know when she fell asleep but she knew she cried herself to sleep.

"Ma'am dinner is ready," Alexa announced, slightly tapping the sleeping lady.

"I am not hungry," Evie lied.

"I am sorry ma'am but my master demands your presence," Alexa said.

"I said, tell him I am not hungry!" Evie snapped at her.

"Alright, I would tell him that," Alexa said before leaving.

Evie tried going back to sleep again but she couldn't, she sat up and continued crying.

She had never felt this helpless in her entire life, this was just too…

"I asked you to come over for dinner and you are saying that you are not…" Ezekiel trailed off seeing her tear filled eyes.

This was the second time he was seeing her cry and the truth be told, it didn't please him.

"Why are you crying?" Ezekiel asked.

"Please, I don't want to talk with anyone, not even you, so please do me the favour of leaving," Evie pleaded, pointing at the door.

Ezekiel stood still, this was the first time someone was asking him to leave, she was the first person who had the audacity to ask him to leave.

"I would leave but we have a whole lot to discuss tomorrow," Ezekiel told her before leaving.

"Asshole!" Evie cursed as more tears continued to spill down her eyes.

Ezekiel's expression hardened as he left her room.

"Alexa!" He summoned her immediately he got to his room.

"Master," Alexa replied instantly.

"What happened today? Why is Evelynn crying?" He asked.

"I don't know, after you left, she had been in her room," Alexa replied honestly.

"Then why is she crying?" Ezekiel asked, feeling all angry.

"I don't know…"

"Then figure it out! I need an answer before tomorrow!" Ezekiel yelled and Alexa kept mute.

"Leave," he added and Alexa left without looking back.

Alexa smiled immediately she left Ezekiel's room. Evie was affecting him positively and she was going to inform Alice about that.
