Evie stormed back to her room, all angry. She was mad at herself, her parents and Ezekiel, all of them had a hand in her problems.
She lay on the bed, with her eyes fixed on the ceiling and a low hiss escaped her lips.
She wished she could rewrite her story, if she had a chance to rewrite her life story then she would never be born into a greedy family, she would make sure that her parents were content with what they have.
She sighed as she remembered she had no power to do such, this was her life and she had to live it.
Though she tried her best to hold back the tears that were about to slip down her face, they still fought their way out of her eyes.
She tried not to focus on the negativity of her life but it seemed like all aspects of her life were full of negative effects.
Then the idea suddenly hit her, she remembered what kept her sane and alive.
Music!
She found her way out of her room to the music theatre, surprisingly Alexa was not a barrier to where she was going because she was nowhere to be found.
Evie's gaze first landed on the huge piano when she entered the music theatre but she chose to ignore it because she felt like playing with the strings of a guitar.
She carried a guitar, and her hands worked on the strings.
The guitar made pleasant sounds and she liked it, her beautiful voice then accompanied it.
Despite all odds of life
I know that I would scale through
No matter the tricks it comes with
I would never succumb
I know that I will never fall.
Her voice echoed loudly in the music theatre.
Meanwhile
"Where did you take my wife today?" Ezekiel asked Alexa, he was backing her so he could not see her frightened expression though he could sense it.
"She went to the zoo and then an island," Alexa managed to reply.
"And?" Ezekiel asked not satisfied with her reply.
"Those were the only place we visited, master," Alexa said with her head bowed down.
Ezekiel turned to face her, he stared at her for a while before he asked.
"Where and when did she see me with a lady?" Ezekiel asked.
"Zeke, leave the lady out of this, it is not her fault that Evie saw you with Gracie, she is not to be blamed," Xander's voice was heard from behind.
"Leave Alexa!" Xander ordered and she was about to leave when Ezekiel's voice filled the room.
"Who is your master? And who do you take instructions from?" He asked dangerously.
"I am the sorry master," Alexa was quick to apologize.
"Alexa, leave!" Xander ordered but she remained glued to the floor.
Xander turned his gaze towards Ezekiel who was sitting comfortably on the sofa in his room.
"Zeke let the girl go!" Xander fired but Ezekiel did not say a word, rather he shut his eyes adding to Xander's fury.
"I have something important to tell you, Kiel, except you want me to say it in her front," Xander said more calmly and that seemed to do the magic because Ezekiel signalled Alexa to leave.
There was a long awkward silence until Xander broke it.
"Seriously Ezekiel? You met Gracie?" Xander began.
"You know that if your mother finds out about you meeting Gracie then you would be in deep shit" Xander added.
"It is my life Xander and I would live it the way I want," Ezekiel said with his eyes shut.
"You know your mother is doing everything within her power to redeem you yet you chose to make things tougher for her. Ezekiel Kai Owens, what are you turning into?" Xander asked.
Ezekiel was quiet for a while, his mind seemed to be processing what Xander said.
"Arent you going to answer me?" Xander pestered.
"I do not want to be redeemed, no one can redeem me," Ezekiel's hoarse voice filled the entire room.
At once, Ezekiel pulled off his t-shirt and went to the full-length mirror in his room and stared at the flames of fire tattoo on his upper arms and his back.
"Can't you see it, Xander? It is permanent! No one can erase it," Zeke said with certainty.
"So what now? Because I know that you must be planning something," Xander said.
"You are right, I am planning something but I cannot afford to tell anyone not even you Xander," Ezekiel said putting on his t-shirt
Just as Xander was about to say something, their sharp hearing ability picked a melodious voice. The both of them stiffen as they listened to the harmonious voice.
"Did you by chance hire a musician?" Xander asked.
"Evelynn!" Ezekiel muttered under his breath but thanks to their sharp hearing abilities, Xander was able to hear what he said.
Evie played with the strings of her guitar as she sang along with the beat, she didn't even know when tears started trailing down her face.
This was music that expressed how she felt. She was sad, deeply sad.
After singing the last part of her song, she wiped off her tears with the back of her palm and smiled bitterly.
She made her way to the grand piano, and her hands work on the keys as well giving a sweet sound, then her voice made the entire rythm melodic.
Evie did not know how long she played the piano but she suddenly felt weak and her eye lids were to heavy for her to open, slowly she slept off in the music theatre.
That was the scene Ezekiel and Xander saw when they arrived the music theatre.
"I guess she had played her heart out," Xander said while Ezekiel swiftly carried her in a princess style as if she weighed nothing.
He laid her gently on the bed, he used the blanket to cover her up.
Ezekiel stared at his wife for a few moments, he hated to say that he likes it whenever she nags him.
What was this feeling developing in him? Maybe he just wanted to keep her safe from his enemies but is that all he was feeling?
No! He refused to admit the newly found feeling!
