"Nathan von Vortdoor, may you receive blessings from heaven. With this, your soul is perfectly formed!"
Seventeen years old, Nathan has grown up. Following the culture, he must find his own way to find the destiny that awaits him somewhere. Separation from family is not something to worry about, because in the future there is no prohibition for him to return.
After preparing everything, Nathan says goodbye to his family.
"Brother, remember to come back here…" Robert, the eldest son of the Alfred Family who became the legal heir pats Nathan on the shoulder.
"Yes, later play with your cousin..." Mrs. Robert strokes her bulging stomach.
Nathan also stroked the bulging stomach to feel the kick from within, before laughing at it. Then, he turns his head towards the voice that came from behind.
"Take care of yourself, my dear little boy..." says Mrs. Alfred sadly facing the day of farewell to her youngest child, she huggedNathan tightly before letting go, letting her husband, Mr. Alfred do the farewell.
Mr. Alfred stroked Nathan's head, looking at him intently, before saying "Son, we're always waiting to hear good news from you..."
Nathan hugs both of them tightly, then he leaves.
…
Heading towards the nearest town, Nathan finally arrived before sunset. It would be dangerous to travel without an escort, especially when Nathan went alone accompanied by only one horse.
Machina City, a city in the South not far from Vortdoor City which is ruled by Mr. Alfred, the queue is quite long when Nathan joined the queue.
After waiting in line for a long time until the sun really set, Nathan wass given his turn to be checked by the gatekeeper before entering the city like the others.
Unlike how the other participants queued, Nathan didn't take long to be checked. As the last descendant of the Alfred Family, he had been provided with an identity card too even though it is his first visit to another city.
Since it was getting dark, Nathan decided to find a place to stay first, before filling his rumbling stomach.
Walking the streets with horses, Nathan asked several people he meets about the location of the nearest inn. Then, he follows the directions he got from several people, until he arrives at an inn marked Mom's Inn.
As soon as Nathan enters, he is immediately greeted enthusiastically by a servant girl.
"Welcome to Mom's Inn… Is there anything I can help you with, sir?" asked the Servant Girl who looks very cute with a round face, tiny nose, big eyes with slender eyebrows, and a glowing complexion reflecting the light from the lanterns in the room. With her maid outfit as well as her shoulder-length hair, it is a perfect percentage of her cuteness.
Nathan is mesmerized by the Servant Girl's apparition. His eyes are fixed on the face in front of him, whether he heard it or not, even though the Servant Girl's voice should have been heard so clearly from a short distance away and in a less crowded room.
"Sir? Hallo…" The Servant Girl tries to wake up Nathan whose thoughts are not inside him by waving her hand in front of Nathan's gaze.
Feeling the black shadows moving to the left and right, Nathan is finally taken aback. When he realized that he was daydreaming and allowed himself to look pathetic in front of the girl he is fascinated by, the feeling of embarrassment immediately makes his face blush.
Nervously, Nathan responds "Yes, what's up?"
The Servant Girl chuckles with a hand over her mouth, finding it funny at Nathan's behavior. However, she immediately shakes her head to repeat her greeting towards Nathan.
"Ah yes, sorry. I was just daydreaming…" Nathan laughed awkwardly, before continuing "And yes, I want to rent a room for tonight. Can you take care of the administrative process for me?"
"Of course, you can count on me. Let me guide you first, sir…"
…
A quiet night treats tiredness all day. The room, which is lit only by the moonlight from the window, gently touches the curve of the face that is staring at the ceiling.
Nathan takes a deep breath after a face reappeared in his mind.
"I have to focus first on finding my destiny…" Nathan mutters, trying not to think too much about the Servant Girl beforehand.
Nathan got out of bed to take the bag that is beside the bed, before he takes a book out of it. The book that reads Illusionist Blade Dancer: Chapter I on the cover he got from his father as a parting gift, just as he wanted.
His brothers who had earlier started their life journey each asked for things that were not much different from each other, while Nathan was very different. They asked for enough supplies for several days to start the journey, so that they were not like Nathan who had been starving the first time he entered Machina City.
There was a reason Nathan didn't ask for supplies that would run out of use and instead chose a book containing swordsmanship techniques that were viewed by people as weak techniques, the Illusionist Blade Dancer.
Illusionist Blade Dancer, that sounds like a great technique. However once people read the initial chapter of the illusion sword technique, they would be disappointed.
Nathan would probably have experienced the same thing as the others, before he read the book on illusions in the Private Library in Mr. Alfred's Vortdoor Mansion. At that time, he was about five years old and interested in reading books in the library. Being born in a noble family made him got adequate learning facilities, so that at a young age he was able to read books fluently.
Whether it was because he was facilitated or Nathan was indeed intelligent, he certainly found one thing that others missed about this illusion.
Illusions are indeed seen as distractions, things that are not real, or something like that. However, illusions at a higher level can be realized into reality, such as the illusion of a shadow that actually interprets himself in reality and can be felt in its form. Thinking about how he masters this Illusionist Blade Dancer to the highest level makes Nathan feel that no one could beat him.
Like, how he can later create the illusion of thousands of swords floating in the air and can physically injure the opponent. Isn't that incredibly great? Nathan thinks so enthusiastically.
But remembering again that Nathan has just started his journey, he took a deep breath.
"I'm too far into the future. I guess, I'd better start practicing while I'm not sleepy…"
…
The sound of a rooster crowing is heard, sunlight begins to penetrate the window pane, Nathan stretched his body before opening his eyes. He slept so late, but the spirit this morning does not fade because of it.
On the ground floor, Nathan sees that several people have occupied the table for breakfast. Then, he joins the empty table before calling the waiter. Somehow he has hoped that the Servant Girl from yesterday would come, but he takes a deep breath when a adult woman comes up to him.
"Can I help you, sir?"
"Yes, I would like to order a suitable meal for breakfast. Please just choose by yourself the food and drink, whatever it is…" Nathan says.
"Fine, you can count on me for that. Please wait, the order will be arriving soon~"
The air in the morning is refreshing, even though this is an urban area. Not many people passes by, maybe that's why the air still feels fresh to breathe. However, Nathan does not bother to think about it further. He wants to inquire about the place of the Adventurer's Guild to the people around, unfortunately they seem to be busy preparing for the day.
Luckily, there is no need to wonder about the whereabouts of the Adventurer's Guild in question. Nathan, who just took a random path, accidentally arrives in front of the Adventurers' Union Building.
By opening a pair of doors in front of him, his adventure is about to begin!
