Chapter 31 - Chapter 30: Meeting A Friend

Thus, after her conversation with Sarah last time, she went online, trying to search for more details about him. And Loraine did learn a few more things about him.

What she saw online was just some of his photos, but she was surprised because he had a lot of fans.

The number of his fans was even greater than what some of the renowned stars have.

He was a celebrity without trying to be one.

She still doesn't know why he seemed familiar when she first saw him, though.

The former Miss Loraine had no recollection of ever meeting Mr. Alistair, checking on him online, or anything.

It was still a puzzle to Loraine. Or maybe he looked like someone she had met in her past life, but she could not recall who it was.

If this was a parallel world to Earth, maybe there was also a Mr. Alistair back there living a completely different life from the Alistair here.

Loraine had all sorts of theories due to all the novels she had read.

'Ugh, I should just focus on this article,' Loraine said, going back to reading.

Seeing the comments about him sitting in a wheelchair, Loraine thought that maybe the post was prearranged.

It could have been arranged by his enemy or himself, since the comments were changing.

Instead of worrying about his health, some comments began questioning his capabilities.

There were even those who said that he may be extremely ill but had only been hiding it. Thus, people began saying that he should sit back and rest.

Meanwhile, some were also speculating about who was behind his accident.

The results of this incident should be known in a couple of days.

But then, it didn't really matter to Loraine. What was important was that she did her best to save him and escort him safely here in Le Country, as he asked.

Thus, Loraine told herself she should just take her time and rest well.

She had been touring around Le Country for a month and, thankfully, never encountered Mr. Alistair again.

It meant he must have truly been focusing on his recovery and perhaps on counterattacks against his enemy.

After a few days of rest, Loraine went home so her guards and assistants could reunite with their families.

She knew they must have missed their families after staying in Le Country for more than a month.

Sarah had a daughter too, and Loraine was sure the child must miss her mother a lot.

Since she was back home, Loraine was watching dramas in her room.

In her past life, she was focused on her work and had almost no time for leisure. She was always tired when she got off work.

Most of the time, she only had about an hour to watch dramas or read novels after work. Or she does it while eating to have at least a bit of fun for the day and escape from her daily life.

Now that she finally has free time on her hands without worrying about financial issues, she can finally read and watch dramas to her heart's content.

'I love this life. I wish I could keep living peacefully just like this,' Lorraine hugged her pillow.

No one was stopping her or urging her to do other things.

Her father was the one who was busy with the company.

Rand Antares just let his daughter do whatever she wanted and gave her everything she wanted, even if it was just a whim. Thus, his employees and other people also didn't dare say anything to her about her behavior.

It was simply wonderful. No one would dare nag him to do something. And she didn't need to do anything anyway.

Time flew by before she knew it. . .

It was already the third day since Loraine started watching dramas in her room.

Even if it had been three days, she still wasn't tired because she found that watching it with VR glasses was more enjoyable than just watching it on screen.

When she was wearing the glasses, it felt like she was also in the scene, but just a bystander.

All the events happened relatively near her, which made watching them more fun.

Just as she was done watching an episode, Loraine received a notification on her phone.

The original owner's friend, Layla, invited her to a get-together, which would be the day after tomorrow.

Layla had been one of the original Miss Antares' closest friends since their university years.

Both of them were the daughters of wealthy families.

Just like Loraine, Layla also freely does whatever she wants.

However, Layla was more arrogant and willful than the original Miss Antares.

Layla was very good to her friends, though. That was why both of them got along well.

From Miss Antares' memories, she was the one always stopping Layla when her mean personality kicked in because of her arrogance.

Thus, after two days, wearing a simple shirt and pants, Loraine went out of the house to meet her friends.

Of course, she was still with her bodyguards as usual.

"Miss, we have arrived," Lorna informed.

"Alright, let's go." Loraine was somewhat excited about this meet-up since, in her past life, she didn't have the time to meet with her friends.

After getting out of the car, she saw a wide golf course surrounded by calming scenery.

Layla had invited her to play golf with the others.

Lorraine originally didn't want to come, but because she had rejected Layla's invitation many times already, she couldn't make any more excuses to say no.

Layla already knew that she was just staying at home, so she convinced her to attend.

But now that she was here, Loraine wanted to try playing golf. It would be a new experience, so why not?

She walked to the rest area at the very front of the golf course.

Layla, who saw her coming with her bodyguards, immediately waved her hands with a broad smile on her face.

"Loraine, long time no see!

I haven't seen you for a long time.

What have you been doing for the past two months?" Layla asked as soon as she was near.
