Unknown POV
The shadows follow me as I walk, both in and beside it. There isn’t a single mistake in my steps, no misstep or creak of the doors as I slip through them. Not even the stupid guards can notice me from my movements.
Pathetic. Are these the security measures of the elites? I can’t help but scoff.
I slip through the last door and out of the window beside my target’s room. There are guards placed directly outside of her room. It'd be easy to subdue them and slip in through the most direct entrance, but I'm looking to make a scene.
So, I sneak into the empty room beside hers and climb from that window into her own. Stupid girl, she left it open. Then again, I doubt she's expecting company.
I stand beside her bed as she sleeps soundlessly, the blankets barely draped over her as she lay there. And then suddenly, she jerks, and I jump back into the shadows that I came from.
