"Sorry, Ellie." I spoke softly and held her hand.
I knew that the current Ellie couldn't hear me. Even if she could, she probably wouldn't believe me, so I decided to prove it with my actions.
I looked at the drunk Ellie, sighed heavily, and walked out quietly.
As I stood on the rooftop, the cold wind blew on my face, clearing my mind. From here, I could see the town. It was noisy and bustling during the day, but when night fell, it turned quiet and peaceful.
I hurt Ellie that rainy night, so she didn't believe me anymore and even wanted to avoid me. In the past, I had only focused on finding my mate and marking her. She had no right to refuse.
But now, I had thought it through. I was willing to spend time with her every day, to let her see me. I would make sure she stayed healthy and do what I can for her. Then maybe, she might start to accept me again.
Ellie, we still had a long way to go.
