Chapter 6
Everyone stares at nadir unsure of how the hell she got her hands on the fabric dangling midway in the air, low murmurs erupts among the council who seems to be shock at the sudden turn of event this has not been their plan when they had summoned her,
xylan seems to be more suprised admist the crowd as he stands tall as her beta as she never mentioned anything about a fabric to him,
Beta Jackson stretched forth his hands to receive the fabric from nadir who seems to be standing aloof proud of herself for catching them off guard,
"This should be enough for you track whose over is responsible for my father's death, I guess I'm done hereand I'd need reports soon and by soon I mean in earnest"
They all rise as she walks out of the hall with her so called mate by her side,
On getting to the room she heaves a sigh of relief, crashing onto the bed, she walks towards her bed accompanied by xyla who stares at her as if trying to access something,
"You didn't tell me anything about a fabric"
She halts in her actions looking him in the eye she can tell he must be pissed but i never thought of bringing it up,
"I'm sorry xylan I didn't think it was necessary to " she pleads with him even when she had hardky known him
He sits by the bed looking to her, stretching forth his hands he holds onto nadir rubbing his soft fingers on her knuckles, nadir looks at him beginning to fall for his charms once more she can tell she's being bewitched by his handsome face and cool attitude,
"I love you mate and I don't want you getting hurt, you should have mentioned something anything to me, I don't want you facing any harm or being stressed"
He pulls her closer towards him engulfing her in a warm hug she relaxes into his hug feeling the warmth reel into her, she feels safe in his embrace wishing for nothing more than this man before her to be safe, she knows for sure her father was murdered but by who and why?, There seems to be no answers to those questions
Whoever did it must have been a psychopath for killing without a basic reason, she pulls away from xylan looking into his eyes she asks
"You promise to stay by my side no matter what happens"
Tracing his finger on her earlobe thinking about the sudden reason for her strange question, bending towards her earlobe he nibbles on it slightly as she wriggles in delight into his arms,
"I want to be with you forever nadir even without your position as alpha, please marry me"
She jerks herself totally away from him, walking towards the mirror resting her arms on her chin she stares at herself in the mirror,
"Not now xylan, I have lots of work to do and bigger things at hand marriage should be last thing on my mind "
He walks over to nadir stroking her cheeks slightly, she holds down his finger wrapping hers around his fingers,
"You need someone to support you and lead you through it all, you have me and I want to be there for you "
Confused and unsure nadir walks away from xylan not wanting to cause an argument she takes a slow stroll into the balcony reminiscing about old memories of how she came with her father playing out here but now everything seems to have gone wrong, she never saw it coming she didn't expect her stern yet friendly father to have been murdered so brutally,
Thinking back into the memories she sighs…
Seeing her father's cold body lying made her almost crazy, running towards his already stiff body she hits at it once, twice, thrice hoping he bolts up awake, pouring out tears after tears she bangs her fists hard in his chest dropping her head to his knee she sees a fabric torn , slowly she tucks it into a side of her gown which she careful picked earlier this morning now covered in blood,
"Nadir, nadir!!!"
A voice calls from behind she turns to see the Jason, he takes few steps away from her as she tries regaining her composure wiping away little teardrops off her eyes
"What is wrong Jacson?"
He rubs his hands across his hair for a while thinking of how best to submit his appeal,
"Go on Jacson feel free to speak to me"
He coughs slightly wanting to get his point out but somehow he gets a bad feeling each time he tries talking after several seconds of mental rehearsal he comes out,
"How did you get the fabric if I may ask?"
She watches Jason spurt out his questions of course she had caught wvrruine offgiard as no one noticed it and everyone had been too engrossed in her father but she had picked it up without them noticing while she trailed after xyla's scent
"I found it by his body"
He creases his eyebrows making sure he heard it right,
Jason clears his throat beginning to feel quite embarrassed as he had failed at his job , he looks in nadir's direction nas she seems to pay little or no attention to him anymore,
"Alpha?"
She looks towards him raising her brows unsure if what question he would ask this time,
"About xylan"
On hearing her mates name she turns at once facing him, he trembles slowly as the alpha aura in her begins to get emitted,
"What's with my mate?"
He takes slow steps further away from nadir as her eyeballs begjn to change colors both her wolf and her human from struggling to stay in control,
"I said what's up about xylan?,"
He trembles more before Nadia , regretting his poor choice of bringing it up,
"I think there something odd about him"
"What do you mean by that"
He cowers away from her as nadir grumbles slightly,her voice thunderous and her eyes pitch black her wolf is in control and any wrong word could ruin Jason,
"I said speak!!!"
Feeling obligated to reply on order of the alpha Jackson speaks out
"Earlier when you gave me the fabric he kept staring at me and I think I caught a whiff of his scent on it"
Confused, nadir scrunches up her nose raising both eyebrows,
"What do you mean by that?"
Jackson sweating profusely could tell there is impending danger looming around saying it out the first time was hard enough repeating it spelt nothing but trouble,
"Im sorry Luna but what I meant is I caught his scent on the fabric ,I think it belongs to him"
Jackson watched nadir intensely waiting for an attack to be made on him seconds after seconds he waited for a reaction a kick in the groin, a slap on the face, to be clawed but nothing happens,
Nadir could tell Jackson is scared hearing the words made her inner cells explode, annoyed and full of rage she tries to stomach it all she had just become alpha and lashing out at Jackson would be of no help with the council,
Taking menacing steps towards Jackson she glares at him with icy cold eyes,
"Did you just say he owns the fabric"
Panicking and scared Jackson takes steps away from nadir, she glares at him which makes him halt in his steps,
"I didn't mean he owns it It was a random guess"
Nadir blows on her finger, pointing it towards Jackson she tilts her index finger to the left and then to the right,
"I heard you say it loud and clear, you mean to tell me my mate is responsible for my father's death?"
"It was just a random guess, I thought I saw him panic a little the moment you brought out the fabric I didn't mean to portray him"Cutting in on Jackson not letting him complete his words
"As a murderer?, As a killer?, As a liar?, As a psycho?, I presented a fabric to you all and just that second you arrived to a conclusion that xylan killed my father"
Scoffing in between and growling she turns fist clenched ,
"I will not have you or anyone decide on my choice of mate I see what the council Is doing and now you'll have to relay my message to whoever sent you here to tell me this crap,
Tell them all that i am not to be messed with"
Jackson stutters trying to speak but nothing audible enough can be heard, after several trials he gains composure,with a fear filled voice he mutters slowly
"It was just a wild guess no one said anything to me or sent me here I came in my own free will and I made a mistake"
Jackson could see the anger in nadir subdue he sighs in relief turning away from nadir with mixed feelings but certainly he doesn't trust xyla
