May laughed a little until suddenly, a blue fire shot up in front of us and Theodius appeared from out of it. "I'm back! Sorry for the wait. I lost track of time! All the cool stuff you guys are bringing me are so much fun to mess around with!" He paused as soon as he saw us. "Uh, what's going on here?" May lifted my head to place gently on the ground so she could stand up.
Once she did, she walked over to Theodius. "Dedrin caught a cold from the last trial, but we still completed it successfully." She reached into her satchel and pulled out the horn to give to Theodius. He took it from her with a smile and her expression remained worried. "Can you make him better with your magic?" Theodius made the horn disappear in his hand as he answered her. "Seriously? There's no cure for a cold! You should know this. The last time I tried it I ended up turning the guy into a vegetable. It was delicious, but still."
May put her hands together in front of her, nervously. "Then can you please give him a few days to get better before you put me under the next spell?" Theodius sighed and looked over at me. "Fine. I guess that'll be okay." I noticed the mischief in his eye as he turned to May again and stepped closer to her with a smirk. She blushed as he pulled her against him and slid his hands to her ass. "While he's recovering, how about you come over to my place? I'm sure I'll find ways to entertain you."
I then tried to struggle out of the swaddle again with anger. "Hey! Just because I'm immobilized doesn't mean that you can touch her like that!!" Now that I knew the reason she was letting him touch her, I was twice as pissed as before. May managed to gain control of her body and gently took Theodius's wrists to slide his hands off of her. "U-Um, I really think I should be here to take care of Dedrin, but t-thanks anyway." Theodius crossed his arms and shrugged. "Alright, suit yourself. I guess I'll see you two in a few days."
He gave us a quick wave before disappearing again. I stopped struggling after he was gone and May turned to me again. "Well, that's a relief that you have some time to get better now. It's about time again for you to drink some more liquids!" I groaned. "More?! I already drank three pots! I have to get up and pee every ten minutes!"
May pulled the pot of boiled water off of the fire and set it on a stone to cool. "You have to be drinking as much water as possible if you want to wash out all the germs in time." I sighed. "Is it too late to change my mind about being sick?" For the next few days, May continued to take care of me and I recovered surprisingly fast thanks to her techniques. By the third day, I was almost completely better other than a slight cough. May had allowed me to put my armor back on since I was feeling better, and I was relieved to be back in my protective shell again. Yet, it didn't stop the confusion that I constantly had when I was around her.
That night we were sleeping by the fireplace like we always did. However, this time I was awoken in the middle of the night by a scream. I opened my eyes and the first thing I noticed was the darkness. I sat up suddenly as I realized that the fire was out and both May and Saniel were gone. I quickly drew my sword and stood on my feet. "May!" My eyes then adjusted to the darkness to see goblins moving around the trees.
Little green men that were four feet tall with pointed ears and noses, slimy skin, and mouths full of sharp teeth underneath their entirely yellow eyes. They laughed like hyenas as they rustled around in the forest and I quickly slashed one through the chest as it jumped out at me. More came to attack and I killed them as soon as they got close. There were so many of them I couldn't waste a second before defending myself from another.
I heard May scream again and I looked to where I last saw her by the fireplace. There was a trail in the dirt appearing as if she was dragged away from the camp. My gaze followed the trail until I saw more goblins pulling her towards a clearing where the land ended with a rushing river below a wide ravine. They scratched her with their blade-like nails as they grabbed a hold of her and dragged her between the last of the trees. May struggled, punching and kicking the goblins away, but there were too many and they soon restrained her arms and legs to the ground. "Dedrin!!"
I hurried to make it through the goblins that surrounded me, but I could only move so fast. "Hold on!" One then jumped on my back and I swung it over my shoulders in front of me while continuing to fight off the rest. I moved as fast as I could to get to her and when I looked up again my eyes widened as I saw what they did next.
May was forced on her back and they tore off the petals of the chest of her dress. A goblin then climbed over her and started sucking on her breast while repeatedly squeezing the other with his hand. May screamed and cried louder, causing me to fight faster out of response. 'Oh shit!' I ran in her direction when my path wasn't blocked by another goblin, and the others that restrained her noticed me gaining. The one on top of her then removed his mouth from her chest and they laughed as they pulled her toward the edge of the cliff behind them.
I knew what they were going to do and I finally made it through the others so I could run without interruption. May continued to struggle, but failed to escape as they pushed her over the edge. "AH!" The goblins scurried away as soon as they let go of her, and I didn't make it to the edge in time to catch her. "May!" I stopped at the sight of the splash after she hit the water below me and disappeared into the rapids of the river. She clearly didn't have enough time to gain control of her wings.
I then quickly returned my sword to its sheath and dived in after her. The water shocked my whole body from how cold it was after I jumped off the cliffside. I landed deep, and the current took me at amazing speed as soon as I hit the water. It was difficult to swim to the surface as the water pulled me against all of the obstacles of the terrain. I hit rocks and broken tree branches as I was forced by the current, and I barely managed to reach the surface to gasp for air.
I splashed out of the water and looked around frantically after I caught my breath. "May! Where are you?! Answer me, now!!" I then heard her call back to me from further down the river. "Dedrin!" It took a second before I spotted her struggling to keep her head above water, and as soon as I did I started to swim with the current to get to her.
