"How's your hand?" once looked down at his hand with the bandage still on. Mine isn't that big, so it's pretty okay.
"Do you have a guilty conscience?"
I blinked. "You should have told the principal about it. I will accept the punishment. You think I need the saving?"
"You didn't really mean to hit me, did you? I didn't lie at all."
My eyes narrowed. He would have asked more questions when he saw his mother coming out of the kitchen. He was carrying two saucers.
"Rustov, get your juice," it commanded.
Aunt Gracia set the saucer down on the small table. She smiled at me politely. She's beautiful, I admit. Even with age you know the race is really good. Though, her features are so soft. I can't see Rustov in him. Maybe he inherited all of that from the Melgarejos?
"I was cooking a snack earlier for Rustov's arrival. I just finished."
