I swallowed hard. I couldn't say anything.
It was a big blow to me when I discovered that vampires are not just a myth but real. But I didn't think that aside from them, there are other non-human creatures, and what I am seeing now is the evidence.
There is no way that these huge wolves are ordinary. There are eight of them with different shades of furs and their eyes… a lighter shade of gold that look so alive.
But what shocked me more was when the two wolves at the center made a way for someone. My hold on Carter loosened up when I recognized Jaxon. He was topless and only wearing jeans, exposing his chiseled upper body and his tattoo in the left chest. His jaw was clenched and eyes dark as night.
"Jaxon…" I mumbled too low for me to hear.
"Why are you here?" Franklin asked in a calm and controlled voice.
