Chapter 3 - Going to the Club

After a while, the taxi arrived at Hong Wei's location. It was a quite old community. After paying the driver and getting out of the taxi, Su Zhen called Hong Wei.

"Hey, Hong Wei, I've arrived at the gate of the community. I'm waiting for you here."

"Okay, wait a while, I'll be there soon."

Su Zhen hung up the phone and started to look around. This old neighborhood was quite lively. There seemed to be a commercial street opposite, too.

After waiting for a few minutes, Su Zhen saw a man with a familiar face walking and looking around as if trying to find someone.

Su Zhen walked over without delay. Hong Wei also noticed Su Zhen and came over happily.

"Damn boy, give me a hug."

As soon as the two met, they hugged each other strongly.

"Let's go, not much to say here. Eat first, drink some beer then talk."

Without giving Su Zhen a chance to speak, Hong Wei took Su Zhen and walked to the opposite restaurant.

They entered the restaurant, opened a box, ordered a few dishes and beer, and the two started chatting.

Su Zhen knew that Hong Wei graduated from a university in Shanghai, but he didn't know what job he did. It wasn't until now did he learn that after his graduation, Hong Wei unexpectedly couldn't find any good jobs here, but he still didn't want to go back to Fujian Province.

After being introduced by his friends, he went to a nightclub and got a place there. With his clever mind and handsome appearance, he managed to make a living in this busy city. His one month's salary plus commission generally ranged from 20,000 to 30,000 yuan.

"What a coincidence, I also used to work at such places, but I was only a professional bartender." Su Zhen said while drinking.

"Huh, you said 'used to'? So, what's your job now?"

"I don't work for anyone at the moment. I want to rest for a while."

"I see. Speaking of which, the club where I work is also near here. After this, I'll take you to play and experience the nightclub culture of Shanghai City." Hong Wei raised his eyebrows and said to Su Zhen.

"Wait, don't you go to work at night?"

"It's fine, today's my day off."

"Okay, then I'll go and have a look."

After speaking, the two touched the beer glasses and drank them all.

As the waiter brought more food over, the two continued to chat while eating and drinking, and the time passed silently.

During the period, Hong Wei also recommended several places for Su Zhen to play, such as the Oriental Pearl Tower, Shanghai Disney Resort, Shanghai's Promenade: The Bund, and so on.

Su Zhen and Hong Wei ate more than they drank. After all, they would go to a nightclub later and it was better to drink there instead of here.

"Are you full? Let's go to the club to play." Hong Wei asked Su Zhen then stood up.

"I'm full, let's go."

The two walked to the cashier to pay the bill.

As soon as he arrived at the cashier, Su Zhen took out his mobile phone and wanted to pay, but Hong Wei stopped him.

"I'm the host here, and you're the guest, so it's on me. But you'll have to invite me next time." Hong Wei didn't wait for Su Zhen to speak; he just took out his phone and scanned the QR code to pay quickly.

Su Zhen could only stand aside helplessly, watching Hong Wei pay the bill. When they arrived at the club later, he would pay the bill instead.

The two ate a total of more than 600 yuan for this dinner, which was not too expensive. The food also tasted good and the service was satisfying.

After paying the bill and going out, Hong Wei called a taxi over. The two got in the car and Hong Wei told the driver the destination. Within ten minutes, the two arrived at the door of the club where Hong Wei worked.

After getting off the taxi, Su Zhen looked at the signboard of the club. The name was 1918, which was extremely simple and easy to remember.

At this time, there were many luxury cars parked in twos and threes in front of the club, most of them were BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, and several other brands of coupes, but no supercars were seen.

Su Zhen could determine that this club was not that high-end, but upper-middle at best. Those people with supercars would go to top clubs instead.

After working in this industry for quite a dozen years, Su Zhen could determine a thing or two when seeing the situations and environments of other same or similar types of places.

"Let's go inside. It's still quite early, we can go open a booth first, or there will be no seats later." Hong Wei pulled Su Zhen in.

As soon as he walked past the long entrance, the deafening DJ sound directly filled Su Zhen's ears, and he couldn't hear Hong Wei's words if the latter didn't speak to his ears. Su Zhen could only follow Hong Wei all the way.

When they arrived at the booth, Su Zhen bought a bottle of foreign wine and a case of beer, spending more than 2,000 yuan readily.

The location was not bad, and the booth could accommodate more than ten people. Other people's booths were filled with beautiful ladies, but Su Zhen was more fond of this spacious atmosphere instead.

Hong Wei was not so strict when it came to life, but he knew Su Zhen well. This guy had a strong self-conduct and high requirements since young. He was not one to play around casually like him. Hong Wei didn't think Su Zhen was gay, after all, this guy had a girlfriend in high school, it was just that the other party cheated on Su Zhen. Since then, Su Zhen was not so enthusiastic when it came to finding lovers.

The wine quickly became empty, so Su Zhen called the waiter to buy more wine, but Hong Wei stopped him.

Afterward, Hong Wei said something to the waiter and the waiter quickly brought several bottles of wine over without asking for money.

Su Zhen instantly guessed something, maybe some customers had pre-stored some wine and it was overdue, but they didn't come to drink. Hong Wei's explanation also confirmed his guess.

With the passage of time, more and more people came to the club, and the atmosphere became livelier. From time to time, texts appeared on the giant LED screen behind the DJ, announcing which booth purchased what kind of expensive wine, and the DJ cheered for the booth all the time.

This kind of strategy worked really well. The vanity of those consumers was greatly satisfied and each of them looked proud.

Su Zhen was not interested in this kind of this thing even if he had money now.

During this period, some friends of Hong Wei also came to play together for a while. This guy really knew a lot of people, and Su Zhen, who was not that on good terms with wine, also drank more than he should with these people back and forth.

Su Zhen was also pulled up by those people to dance together, but Hong Wei timely came to help Su Zhen refuse. Su Zhen breathed a sigh of relief quietly when those people went away. Just the sight of people sticking and twisting their bodies next to each other was enough to make Su Zhen feel uneasy.

Hong Wei used this chance to make jokes about Su Zhen, saying that he was a rare virtuous and ideal husband material in the world.

Su Zhen scoffed pretendingly and rebuked Hong Wei, saying that don't let Hong Wei's future wife see him later, otherwise, Hong Wei would have to cry, admiring this virtuous man later.

With such a serious face, other people who didn't know Su Zhen would surely think he was not joking at all. But only Hong Wei knew that this guy could make jokes with a straighter-than-steel face.

As if he couldn't endure it anymore, Hong Wei got up and went dancing and playing with those ladies.

Su Zhen shook his head and admired this guy at the same time when he saw this. After drinking so much, he could still stand so steadily.

Taking out his phone, Su Zhen found that it was already 2 am before he knew it.

He waited for a while before he walked over and told Hong Wei that he couldn't drink anymore and had to go back.

Hong Wei readily agreed and said to go together.

After leaving the door, Hong Wei smoked a cigarette and asked, "How about we have a late-night meal? Or do you want to go back directly?"

He took another cigarette and handed it over to Su Zhen, but Su Zhen didn't smoke so he took it back.

"Forget it, I can't eat anymore. I'll go back first. If you are free tomorrow, do you want to go for a walk together?"

"I'll have to deny your invitation, I have to go to work, so I won't tag along. You can have fun yourself." Hong Wei waved his hand and responded.

At this time, a taxi drove over. Su Zhen saw the number on the taxi and confirmed that it was the one he ordered.

He turned his head and said to Hong Wei, "The taxi is here, I'll go first, and we'll meet again next time." He waved his hand to bid farewell to Hong Wei and got into the car.

The taxi was driving smoothly on the road, and Su Zhen told the driver to notify him when he arrived at the hotel. He closed his eyes and squinted for a while. He drank a lot previously, so his stomach was bloated and he was sleepy.

As the alcohol fermented, Su Zhen felt more and more groggy.

Finally, when he almost fell asleep, the taxi arrived at the hotel. When he got out of the car, he suddenly felt quite cold, so he shivered, regained energy a little, and walked into the hotel quickly.

After entering the room, he instantly felt warm and cozy. He walked to the bathroom, took a hot and comfortable shower, and then lay on the bed to rest.

As soon as his head and body touched the soft mattress, sleepiness was drawn, and Su Zhen fell asleep after a while.
