Chapter 31 - Bad cyclone

Evening

Amsterdam, NL.

Outside Mabel's place.

As the heavy wind blew alongside the drizzling rain, the two teenage girls search for shelter.

They're both new in this vicinity. The wind is dangerous. They heard there was going to be a very bad cyclone today but they forget.

They only went out to do some shopping and waited for the chauffeur to pick them up only to find out later that the chauffeur has taken the car to the mechanic workshop for servicing.

It's exhausting. They are tired from boarding a bus and now hiding from the strange wind which couldn't stop swaying their dress and bags.

"Look! Over there, a shade." One of them pointed at the front of a bungalow.

At once, they rushed and hid under the little roof protecting the doorpost.

They breath a sigh of relief. At last, they finally found a place to hid their heads from the heavy wind. But the drizzling droplets of the rain keeps bulging at them because of the wind. They used their big fancy shopping bags to protect themselves as a shield.

They're frightened and scared of the cyclone. There's no human or living soul seen patrolling in the vicinity. The only people outside are just them. What if the cyclone hit on them and they end up dieing?

The thought of that made them shiver in fear and caused them to snuggle on each other. They're just fifteen. They haven't seen life yet. Is this cyclone going to eat them up out of the blue?

Though they wanted to knock on the door of the apartment. Maybe the person therein could render some kinda help but at the same time when they placed their hands on the door, they retrieved it back in anxiety.

What if the owner decide to kick them off his or her doorpost? Where will they run to for shelter? They believed that not everyone is according to your thinking spirit.

The good, the bad, the evil, one will surely meet with all of them.

.....

Inside.

Picking the glass-case from the table, Mabel carefully wore it and glance at the wall clock. She sighed. It was the exact time said by the weather forecasters that the cyclone was going to hit the area.

Well, she's safe indoor. She didn't do anything much today. After taking a quite stroll with her best friend Mia, she bought an ice cream for herself and walked back home.

Though that was hours ago and she had been sleeping since she came back. At the time she heard the loud shuttering of the thunderstorm, she had to hurry to the sitting room. Just to cross-check if all the windows and doors were closed and intact.

Now that she they are all in place, she felt at ease and took a deep breath.

Just when she was about to go into the kitchen to see if her soup was ready, she heard a light push on the door.

She stopped on her tracks and frowned confusedly. Who is it? What was that? Was that about the cyclone?

Mabel began to wonder and later brush the thoughts of a ghost or cyclone attacking her entrance door and just continue her way to the kitchen but suddenly, something motivated her to stop again and go check what's at the door.

But at the same time she wondered confusedly, what if it's a bandit? Or some homeless buglers trying to break into someone else's home? Her son once told her that the security around their apartment is very low and anything unpredictable can happen.

She stood and thought for quite some time. No, she's not too sure if it's a bugler or bandit, besides, it was a slight push and it might just be the vibration of the thunderstorm.

When the door made a light sound like someone leaned his back on it, Mabel was forced to brush her weird thoughts off and dash towards the door.

Without peeking through the keyhole or anything to claim confirmation, she unlocked the bolts and opened the door.

Her eyes widened in shock after seeing two beautiful petite identical girls shivering at the doorpost.

Mabel panicked. Quickly, she guided them in and shut the door immediately after them.
