They stood. Shivering and looking at the whole place in the sitting room. The apartment is very ordinary like that of middle class people. Their luxury mansion is far better than this.
"Are you guys okay?" Mabel asked worriedly. She feared they might be homeless or maybe lost their way home.
But one thing she couldn't get straight was that they are both identical twins with turquoise-aqua greenish eyes like the waters of golf of mexico. They had the same wavy brunette hair and they're both putting on the same clothes.
Very hard for Mabel to understand what she is seeing. The last time she saw identical twins was in the movie. This is her first time to see such in reality.
She took her glasses off, wiped her eyes and blinked several times at them. Was she thinking straight or this was just some kind of misunderstanding?
"Yes, we are both fine." They answered in unison. Their voice sounds the same.
Mabel gave them a weird yet awkward smile.
"Thanks ma'am. You just saved us from the bad cyclone." One of them said.
Mabel smiled, "You're welcome."
The other stared at the entire place again and asked hopefully, "Ma'am, may we sit?"
"Sure, sure, of course you can." Mabel answered with all pleasure from her heart.
The two girls sat peacefully and gently placed the shopping bags on the floor.
"No, those bags are to beautiful to be kept on the ground." Mabel took the bags and kindly placed them on an empty couch.
The girls stared at each other and slightly shrugged their shoulders. They wonder how nice one could be. To the extent of caring way too much for a nonliving thing.
Mabel whom stood at a distance still couldn't stop staring at them. They caught her staring for a long time. Is she scared too? If she is scared and they are, then who will protect who?
One of them awkwardly cleared her throat, "We went out for shopping and got stuck by the cyclone. I hope you don't mind if we invade your place until the wind is down?"
Mabel widen her eyes and vigorously nodded her head, "No, no, no, it's alright, I don't mind at all. By the way, I'm Mabelle but you can call me Mabel in short."
Placing her hand on their chest, "I'm Ava. I'm Aria." They introduced individually.
Mabelle was confused. Seems like she misunderstood them. So she asked, "Which of you is Ava and which is Aria?"
The difference was clear as one of them stood up and said, "I'm Ava. I'm the eldest."
Mabelle already knew that the one seated was Aria.
The one standing, addressing herself as Ava, is a bit chubbier than her twin Aria. Though they both look petite but one is fatter than one in terms of body size.
Mabelle nodded her head with a smile, "I understand. You two are very close alike in appearance and your names almost sound the same." They nodded and she added, "You two have lovely names."
They smiled at her, "You too, Aunt Mabelle."
After staring at each other awkwardly for quite some time, Mabelle excused herself to continue what was doing in the kitchen.
Ava and Aria took deep breaths and relaxed their backs on the soft couch before taking their phones out to go through their social media pages.
