Eva's POV
I return to my room of course to be met with snow waiting for me. She chirped a greeting as I entered and closed the door behind me.
She distracted me from the things that were occupying my mind at the moment. And I started to realize how good it was to come home to somebody.
I got her food and fed her for the second time today. To be honest and to my own surprise I was not feeling all that tired. It was a relief that Josie was going to be fine but apart from her, family troubles and other issues that seemed to never leave my thoughts, there was also loneliness. The days were drawn long with nothing to do except to delve deeper into grandmother's diary. At times I wish I could speak to someone about it. About what I had found but I could not afford to do that to grandmother.
