I fell asleep on Eddie's shoulder waiting for Max and the gang to pick us up. I jump when I hear a honk, however. I brush my eyes with my fist. "That scared the shit out of me," I whisper. Eddie chuckles to himself before slowly standing up. I watch him hug Dustin. I stand up, god it hurts. I lean forward to hug Robin. "How was it?" she asks excitedly. "It was awesome!" I realize how excited I am to share this with someone. Max hugs me from behind, "we will have to talk in depth tonight." Max whispers. "Can we pretty please have a sleepover tonight so you can tell us EVERYTHING that happened!?" Robin begged, shaking my hand. "Okay fine," I smiled. "Geez you look awful," I hear from behind me. I turn around to see Steve. "I'm kidding." He clarified. "I wouldn't be shocked if you weren't." I reply. Steve pats my back, "it's good to have you back." I hug him instead. "Nancy couldn't make it, but, she told me to tell you that she wants to hang out later this week." Robin recited as if she was told to memorize it. I look over to Eddie, he is having a quiet conversation with Dustin. I could only make out a couple words, "I will tell you later." Nothing serious. Max picked up my bag and carried it into the car. "Are you sure we are going to fit?" I ask. We aren't, is the short answer. "We could try." Robin replies.
I don't know if i am sitting on Eddie or Max's lap. Maybe both. My feet are in the air. My hair is in Eddie's face. "This wasn't a good plan," he groaned. Steve already started driving off. It was a long drive to Hawkins. I don't know how, but I feel a hand slide between my thighs. I ruled out Robin, which left Eddie. I touched his hand. I hear him whisper in my ear, under all of my hair, "I love you."
I don't know where we are,or how far we are, but I fell asleep, and the only one awake is Steve. "Steve," I mumbled. "Yeah?" "How far are we?" "About 20 minutes," he replies. The ride is only really an hour. "Ellie?" he asks. "Yes?" "Did you really have fun?" An odd question by itself, but I understand where it's going. "Of course," I chuckle. "How much fun?" He looks at me in the rear-view mirror. All I do is wink. "Please," he whines, "tell me." "The story will spill out eventually," I respond. He frowns, "not fair." I hear Eddie grumble in my ear. He must be waking up. I touch his hand. "Are you uncomfortable?" he asks in a soft whisper. "I'm fine-" He ignores me. "You can't possibly be comfortable, you're practically on top of everything." Eddie pulls me to the side so I fit on his lap. "There," he smiles, "perfect." "Thanks, Eddie," I whisper. I get as comfortable as I can. Eddie wraps his arms around my waist. "Sleep," he whispers. I don't hesitate.
"Where are you taking me!" I mutter. I am on someone's shoulder. I move around. "Calm down, I'm bringing you to your bed." It's Eddie. "But I'm supposed to have a sleepover with Robin and Max!" I whine. "Ellie you need sleep," He opens my bedroom door. "But I promised them!" "Have it tomorrow!" he suggested. "You're telling them, not me!" I whine. "Max is already asleep and Steve is dropping of Robin. Just have it tomorrow." I frown, but collapse on my bed. I might pass out from exhaustion. Eddie kisses my forehead, "you're not going to have any nightmares?" He smiles, even though I can hardly see it. "I think I will live," I kiss him once. Eddie leans down to kiss my neck. "Eddie," I giggle. I tried to push him off. "Eddieeeee," I whined, "we have school tomorrow." "Ugh," he groans, "always you and school." He gets off of me. "Get your beauty sleep," Eddie smiles as he shuts the door. I won't be able to sleep.
