You and Eddie chill at his house after school. He starts playing a song for you on his guitar. You watch his hands closely. They shift around from time to time. The neck of the guitar is nothing compared the the width of his hands. "Ellie?" he stops playing. "Yes?" you look up. "You ok?" he asks coming over to you. "Oh, yeah," you say biting your lip. "You say that a lot...and it's never true." "It's true...sometimes." "What's bothering you?" You pause for a moment. "I'm having flashbacks. And nightmares. And hallucinations." He opens his arms and you lean into him. "You're safe with me." You sit there, in his arms, for a few minutes.
"We got to go set up for Hellfire," he stands up. You head to the van and wait for him to open your door. "Malady," he gestures inside the door. You smile. He turns the music up all the way and you two sing the whole way there. You follow him into the theater room. It was a room you probably would have never guessed was there. He begins setting up the table and decorating the area. He sits on his throne.
"She's a beauty, isn't she?" You smile, Eddie pulls you into his lap. His arms are wrapped around your waist. You push away his bangs and kiss him on the forehead. He got so flustered. He looked like he felt so special and loved. He kissed you on the forehead, too. He held in a laugh. "What?" you smile. "You're so adorable!" "Are you blushing?" you smirk. "Ellieeee?" he turns away. "And why do you always have stuff in your pockets?" "These jeans don't have pockets, love." "Eddie." you jump up off of his lap. "Not so fast, love." He grabs you by the waist snd pulls you back on his waist. "Who's blushing now?" he kisses your neck. "You want that head now?" you smirk. He stares into your eyes.
"Am I interrupting something?" Mike walks in. "Yeah, you kind of are." Eddie laughs and you get off of Eddie's lap. You all chit chat until everyone arrives. "What is your name?" he asks. "I don't remember..." "I do!" Mike shouts laughing. "It was 'Lady Demon Lord!'" Eddie laughs. "Oh yeah, I remember." you laugh. "I'm dating a Demon Lord?" he looks at you. "Yes," you say proudly, "be careful."
. . . . . . . . . . .
"The hooded cultists chant," Eddie says turning to us one at a time, "'Hail Lord Vecna.' 'Hail Lord Vecna.' They turn to you, remove their hoods. You recognize most of them from Makbar. But there is one you do not recognize, his skin shriveled, desiccated. And something else." Everyone has their eyes glued to Eddie. "He is not only missing his left arm," he puts his arm behind his back, "but his left eye!" He covers his left eye with his hand. Everyone starts arguing. "No, no!" "Vecna's dead," Jeff shouted. "He was killed by Kas!" Mike backed him up. "So it was thought, my friends. So it was thought." he slams the 'Vecna' piece on the table, "But Vecna lives!" "You are scared. You're tired. You are injured. Do you flee Vecna and his cultists? Or stand your ground and fight? Come on." Dustin puts his hand up thinking. "I say we fight." Dustin says finally. "To the death," you add. "To the death." everyone starts chanting. "To the death. To the death." Eddie is standing up, laughing, but in a happy way, as we cheer. He plops down on his chair happily and smiles. You roll two of the dice, and get a high number, enough to give damage. "Yeah!" they cheer. Mike rolls the dice and gets a 5. Eddie pushes over his character. "No!" Mike sighs. The whole table is arguing. Jeff takes his turn, however the same happens to him.
The turns continue going around the table, with Eddie, you, and Dustin arguing. Eddie laughs sinisterly. Jeff calls a time out. Everyone huddles up. "Guys, I hate to say this, but we've got to flee." Gareth says. "I concur," Jeff says. "Didn't we just agree "to the death"?" you say, trying to motivate them. "That wasn't literal." Gareth whines. "Vecna just decimated us. We can't kill him with two players." Mike says worried. "You too? He only has 15 hit points left. Don't be pussies." You say frowning. "Pussies? Really? 'Cause we're not delusional?" Gareth fights back. "Delusional? How about not cowards?" Dustin continues.
"Hey!" Eddie interrupts. Everyone turns to face Eddie. "If I may interject, gentlemen, Lady Demon Lord. Whilst I respect the passion, you'd be wise to take Gareth the Great's concern to heart. There is no shame in running. Don't try to be heroes. Not today, 'kay?"
"One sec," you turn to face the group. "What do you think, Mike," Dustin asks. "How many hit points do you and Demon Lord have left?" Mike asks. "Twelve." you both say in sync. "It's risky as hell," Mike says. "But you're the ones on the battlefield. So it's your call." Dustin looks at you, "What do you say, Lady Demon Lord?" "Do you really have to ask?" "Screw it," Dustin says. "Let's kill this son of a bitch," you shout and face Eddie. "The chances of success are 20-to-1." Jeff says panicked. "Never tell me the odds. Give me the D20." Eddie throws it at Dustin. Dustin shakes it in his hands for good luck. He throws it and it rolls towards Eddie. It rolls and rolls... 11. "That's a miss." Eddie says shaking his head. "NO!" "Shit!" Dustin flips up a piece. Eddie picks it up and hands it to you. "Good luck, sweetheart." You shake the dice and let it go. It rolls slowly, creating suspense. "Please!" Gareth cheers. "Come on!" Dustin says nervous. It reaches Eddie and stops. 20. "CRIT HIT!" you shout. "Yeah!" they shout together. "What? What?" Eddie pulls his hands to his chest playfully. You all continue cheering. "That's why we play!" Eddie smiles. Eddie leans down and pulls his hands towards you and opens the hands out. "The throne is yours, darling." he smiles. You smile and kiss him. "I did it!" you shout. All the boys are chest bumping each other and screaming. Eddie kisses you. "Good job, sweetheart."
