The rat proceeds to walk down the dark and disgusting tunnels. After walking for about 5 hours and finding the leftovers of a creature on the way, it finds its prey. Another slime. This monster was the toughest one it fought so far; it was the only monster to have hurt the rat during its new life. The rat approached this one warily, all while using [Stealth] and it decided to try something new. The rat used [Glare] and saw the slime began to shiver and shrink down, all before jumping backwards in fright. The rat then got a notice.
[You have used an initiation style skill while in Stealth -10 St]
Holy shit! The cost of using that had startled the rat. This had never happened before. Was it because of the skill [Glare]? No, it said the cost was 1 St per use. Then it must be because of how [Glare] works.
[Glare]
[You Intimidate the creatures in you field of view. This will make them wary of your presence and lower their stats. This will consume 1 St per use.]
Then it must be because [Glare] alerts a creature of your presence while [Stealth] hides it.
The rat's thought process was correct. Normally the slime would have been made aware of the rat's presence but because of the levels of each skill in play it managed to keep itself concealed. The rat thought through this for a little while more, and decided that hunting was a better use of its time. It focused back on the slime, it had jumped a meter away. This meant there was a 2 meter gap between the slime and the rat. Normally for a creature this would present an advantage for the slime, however, the rat had [Shadow Strength] and [Body Strengthening] at level 3. This gap was nothing!
The rat proceeded the normal hunting routine, and launched itself at the slime. The speed at which it flew at was truly something unbelievable! A copper rank adventurer stood no chance in the speed of this deadly rat. It would even pose a problem for an iron rank! This slime stood no chance as it hadn't even had the time to react to this beast as it flew towards it. The rat prepared the [Burrow] skill and dug through the slime at incredible rates. The rat might as well have been a small drill! It quickly demolished and ripped apart the slime and found the core which it promptly used [Bite] on.
[You have been dissolved in acid -1 Hp]
[Due to raised Con and constant damage due to acid, you have gained the skill: Acid Resistance!]
[Congratulations, you have killed a Slime!]
[Skills: Burrow, Bite, and Glare have leveled up!]
The rat, disappointed by the lack of levels, but expected it because of how weak the slime was when in comparison to the rat. It slurped up the rest of the gelatin monster and proceeded on its hunt. While wandering around it finally came across another creature, this time something new! It was a snake-like beast with stone skin and stone-esque eyes. This was a Stone Snake, it had a petrifying gaze and tough skin, these two features made it quite the difficult monster to fight. This monster had these two features to make it truly deadly, but that was all it had going for it. While looking at it from a distance, it suddenly heard a notice inside of its mind.
[Skills: Eagle Eye have leveled up!]
When the rat saw this monster from a distance, it had activated [Stealth], and began to creep up on it. This monster was currently eating a Small Spider, with its head turned to stone. The rat instinctively knew it was going to be a tough fight. The rat looked over at the head of the Small Spider, wondering what had happened to it. It assumed it might be nothing and proceeded with the battle.
The rat had leapt out from the green haze and went to use [Scratch] on the skin, but the damage done was small. The snakes skin was as hard as rock, but still allowed for alarmingly fast movements. The snake slithered at the rat wrapping its body around it, and in response to this the rat slammed itself against a wall. The snake heard this afterwards.
[You have suffered blunt damage -12 Hp]
The rat heard the same message, but with one difference
[You have suffered blunt damage - 10 Hp]
[Due to raised Con and constant damage due to blunt trauma, you have gained the skill: Blunt Damage Resistance]
Despite the tough skin of the snake, the blunt damage trauma of crashing into a wall and having the rats fall broken a little by the snake really did a number on it. It quickly disengaged the rat and had used its skill [Stone Gaze], however, only the rat's back right leg was in view, and so only that part of the rat had been petrified. The rat, extremely alarmed by this sudden occurrence, but also confused at the lack of damage, quickly used [Glare] to make the snake back off… which it did. It cowarded away from the rat and backed against the wall. The rat in response leapt at the snake but with significantly less speed than before. This was because of the lack of movement in its back leg. This surprised the rat but that was all; it still had used enough power to get to the snake. The rat then used [Bite] on the slim body of the snake crushing down. Many of the rat's teeth were broken doing that, but the snake's body was also being crushed down in that part of its body.
[You have applied extreme force to a hard surface -5 Hp]
[You are being crushed -15 Hp]
The rat then used [Bite] over and over again to kill the snake, but in the process felt extreme pain and lost some Hp itself. The snake however suffered much more damage to the rat, and after what felt like hours it had finally croaked.
[Congratulations, you have killed one of the dominant species in the area: Stone Snake! You have leveled up and received an accomplishment: Stone Breaker!]
[You are level 4!]
[You have gained 3 Sp and 11 Ap]
[Skills: Bite, Shadow Strength, Body Strengthening, Vitality Check, Glare, and Scratch have leveled up!]
[All stats have been restored!]
… Neat! I only had to kill one monster to level up!
This sudden level up was because of the fact that the Stone Snake was one of the toughest monsters in the area. It had most certainly been the most difficult monster the rat had to fight. The rat then decided to shift its focus onto its newly upgraded status.

While looking at its new status, it immediately spent 3 Sp on [Support Magic]. It then added 1 point into Int to get Mp to an even 10. It didn't know why, but it had satisfied a mental itch it had. Pleasant. It then looked over at its new accomplishment, and a screen popped up.
[Stone Breaker]
[It has become significantly easier to break stone and minerals]
Neat! Pretty useless, but a buff is always welcome! It then spent 5 points on luck and the other 5 on agility. The rat honestly didn't see the need to spend its precious Sp on skills with only a cost 2 Sp.
I'm Done!
