Chapter 8 - Ch 8

*Fiona´s POV*

In the tournament were the best magicians, but in the first time in history a fire magician won, and now it lays in my hand too interview him. I have done this job almost two decades, but I'm still nervous, what if he isn´t in a good mood… When he doesn´t want to talk, my boss will screw me over, because I missed this important moment.

*mc´s POV*

"Excuse me, can I ask you some questions about the magic tournament." A woman around her forties appears before me with a small smile on her face. Now after a rest feeling refreshed, I respond that I'm okay with an interview. She starts to smile and begins to askes the first question without delay as if this is the moment of her life, that she can´t miss. "Who has taught you this kind of fire magic?" "I taught it myself." Not sure how things are done in this world, I just go with kind of the truth. "Wow, that's very impressive few can say that of themselves, and by the way can you explain the flames that just inflamed your opponent?" "That´s very simple, it was in fact a projectile of flames, that was invisible and hard to extinguish with water, so it doesn´t cost that much energy." "Is that true? How is that even possible?" She steps back as she makes an terrified face. Her belief was, that there is a good way to protect against it, but invisible flames that are undetectable and hard to put out with water, when fire users can use that, water users would look like a wet rag in comparison. Now coming down she continues to ask what the explosion in the finals was. "Oh that´s is just very hot fire, that evaporates the water." Now just being glad, that he looks friendly she ends the now uncomfortable conversation with the question, if the fire element is the strongest element. "For me magic isn´t divided in elements, it is all one, only if you understand that you can become as strong as I am." Really, with this words I feel like a teacher that tries to explain the students that the poem actually has a deep meaning and that the poet wasn´t just high.

*Fiona´s POV*

I'm done, just the thought of him being able to just burn everyone on the spot made her terrified, maybe it is just a fluke, it could have been a simple trick, what could have done that. What if there is someone even stronger or he is stronger than we know? What if the explosions are man made and not from our god? I don´t want to think about it. What did he even mean with his last sentence, everything is one, does that mean he can use all the elements, better than an expert? I don´t want to be near him again, I do not want to be the cause of a homicide, because he got angry. I just want to go home.
