After opening his eyes he found himself sitting on the ground with no idea where he is or how he got there. He slowly stood up, and his head started spinning. It's not getting better.
But the sudden emerging of a green human shaped figure made him forget his dizziness. Is that a goblin? Is this a fantasy world is this another universe… Before thinking about that I need to deal with the problem at hand. Normally in situations like this the main character can use magic. Just imagining the spell and casting it. With the image of fire in mind a fireball formed before him, and it got bigger and bigger now it has a volume of around 10 m³ now he just needed to give it kinetic energy to fire it. Which worked out quite fine, but he had no time to celebrate, because out of nowhere his vision got blurry and the last thing he saw, as he passed out was the ugly face of the goblin that gave a high-pitched scream from him as he burned down to ash in the flames.
Slowly opening his eyes again. A felling of weakness falling over him. The same place as before, he looked at the shadows. He concluded that some hours went by, while he was passed out.
I need to find out the reason why I passed out, was it a exhaustion of mana? How does this magic system work anyway? I need answers. First of all, can I create everything I want? First when I think of iron, it has 26 protons and electrons and an Atom can have a different amount of neutrons, but it has to many or not enough it will not be stable and will be radioactive so lets just take 31. If I remember correctly, it should be stable.
And as expected some iron spawned before him. I feel like when I continue to do this I am going to pass out again, I should stop for now. And now not focused on his experiment anymore he began to feel like he is starving. I need to get some food fast. While walking down the forest he was in he picked up some berries, that looked edible on the search for some animal he could hunt, without any hope to actually find something, because normally a hunt is prepared and not just the activity of just walking around without a weapon. After an hour went by without him knowing when he will get out of the forest, he saw himself forced to eat the food he found along the way. I just have to pray that it isn´t poisonous. They actually taste better than I thought, and my they are more saturating, than they look, I hope they make me feel better, because I feel like shit now, after casting my first spells. I really want to have some flesh, maybe if I understand the system behind casting spells better I'm able to hunt. So lets see, can I make small fast projectile while using the iron I made earlier to not spend as much energy. And with this idea he formed bullets that he can infuse with energy to accelerate them. I just have to find my dinner. For the sake of his search for his next meal he began to go to an elevated position to have a better view, to be able to shot down his first animal. I can see a creature looking like a deer, let me try to kill it. Now I have to be accurate and infuse enough energy, and shot. With a high-flying speed that is around 200 km/h the projectile hit the dear but didn´t injure it fatally. I have to shoot another round. I can feel, the feeling of weakness coming back after it went away after eating the berries. So in conclusion I need food to regenerate the energy that I use on spells. But this shot will be well invested in my next meal. With this in mind he prepared the next shot at the deer that is now trying to flee, but to his luck it wasn´t fast anymore, because of the wound, because of that the second shoot also hit the target which didn´t kill instantly but will in a matter of minutes die of blood lose. I don´t think I can shoot another bullet, lets go to the deer and gut it. As he went near the deer, the deer suddenly summed a spell. I need to doge this. But the crystal was to fast but in his luck it only managed to create a small wound. It seemed like an ice crystal, a deer can use magic? I need to be more carefully, but it seems like that was the last struggle of the deer, now I want to examine him before I eat him, to find a hint on how magic works. The blood seems weird it´s blue, I know that in a lot of fantasy books the blood of different animals have different colors but it just seems odd. I also can´t find anything else like mana or a source of energy where the power of the spells can come from. The blood also doesn´t tast like normal blood, but it should at least taste like iron, because without iron in our blood we wouldn´t be alive. My blood also doesn´t taste like iron. Wait can it be, that in this world magic is created from the blood of a person, that would explain that I passed out after casting such a big spell and having all this symptoms, but how am I supposed to get stronger if I physically can´t make my blood reserves bigger. When I think about it, then the conversion ratio of blood to my fire spell was 1:1 I gave approximately 3 liters of blood which is a little more than 3 kilograms and fire weights 0.3 kilograms per m³ times 10 which is also around 3 kilograms. But the conversation rate into kinetic energy is strange, because if you think about atomic bombs, you know how much power a little bit of matter can have so on the way to this conversion some of the energy gets lost, but will think about this after my well-deserved dinner.
After he grilled and ate the meal, he went on to experiment with his new regenerated strength magic.
If I can create around 2 Kilogramms of magic before I must rest again, that means I can make a pistol and bullets so I can fight without the use to much blood for it. Can´t I do something about the conversion rate of my blood to kinetic energy? Wait what if I use gunpower. it consist of 75% potassium nitrate (known as saltpeter or saltpetre), 15% softwood charcoal, and 10% sulfur.
