A melodious and seductive humming sound followed by a cute voice rang throughout the vehicle.
"Master, I don't even know what you gain from that..." Alastor sighed from the driver's seat.

"Sigh... tomorrow is your 14th birthday celebration. I don't know today's reunion is a joint celebration for that or they just forgot about it. I raised an eyebrow. "You won't be there."
"I have some jobs to do tonight." Alastor said as he turned behind with a smile.

The car stopped without any jerk and Alastor came out and opened the door for me.
I got off and fixed my uniform.
There is the old hospital decorated like a luxury resort hotel.
The soundless car already left me behind.
There was no one around in black neon streets and the atmosphere looked quite futuristic with an airship in the sky with an advertisement screen.
The drains were slightly uplifted, however, there was no foul smell and there too were small outlets below pavement, barely noticeable in the night sky but I can see them clearly due to a special reason.
"I am kind of getting nervous." A cold drop of sweat slid down my forehead.
"Big brother." A ghost like voice almost scared me.
"Seriously, I am three years younger than you, why the hell do you always call me that and I am sure it is not because of your height?"
I replied to the call after seeing who it was.
A short boy with signature jet black hairs of our family and a droopy stature.
However, he had unique shining emrald eyes with dark circles around them ruining all the gleam of the eyes.
"This is how I am treated in this family for my contributions. " He grunted probably due to me commenting on his height.
I ignored him and said, "You come here regularly, right? Then guide the way."
He put his hands inside the pockets of the researcher coat too big for him and walked forward. "Tsk... This is how I am treated by the child of the main family."
"That is not something someone from branch family should say infront of the main family."
He smirked and said, "Don't treat yourself as the whole of the main family, kid, you are still leagues behind the other members. "
When we entered the the a man in suit with a number batch reading 11691 came up to us for something with a bow.
"Your invitation."
The other man who was my cousin searched his pockets and took out a white envelope and kept it on the tray brought by man in the suit.
However, the man still did not move away and turned towards me.
"Me too?" I searched for it, but I am not sure if I brought it here.
"Here it is. " I took out a black envelope with gold and crimson inscriptions on it and proceeded to keep it on the tray, however, my cousin caught my wrist midway.
After looking at the envelope, the man's eyes widened and cousin's grip tightened.
He gave a forced smile as a drop of sweat slid down his temples and said, "Lucius, you don't need to do that. Just keep that for future."
"But... " I turned towards the man with tray but he already left us alone.
"This place used to be a hospital..." I looked up the ceiling and the walls decorated like a banquet hall with chandeliers, candles and bright golden light.
My company switched the topic and said,
"I am in awe of your choice of clothings, but then, main family isn't the brightest in that area."
"Don't be like that, I worked for almost an hour before I got this."
"That's the best you can get." He raised an eyebrow.
"Says the one in researchers coat or maybe it is a doctor's coat." I smirked.
"You would never know when your mind has a breakthrough when you think all the time."
As it is beyond my understanding, I left the topic alone.
"What's the occasion? I am sure it is not the twenty days late New Year celebration."
I asked an insider of the hospital who surely would know more about it than me.
"Nothing big, we just found a few new and potential talents."
"A potential talent." That was a strange term used here.
After all, someone can be a talent or not.
"What about grandfather? " I asked, this would be the first time I was going to meet so the excitement was as burning as it could be.
"You mean director? " I nodded.
"He won't be here tonight." He replied bluntly.
"What?! " I turned to go back home.
Tonight was surely a waste of time.
