Chapter 41 - Voice.

It night in tectonic.

It has been two weeks and things have been going smoothly for lucky until....

In the midst of sorting through files in his office, Lucky was startled by a voice calling his name. Scanning the room, he found no one in sight. Choosing to dismiss it, he refocused on his work, but the voice persisted

"Lucky..." growing thicker and carrying a hint of grumpiness.

He heard the voice echoing as if it reverberated through the entire world, yet no one was in sight. Intrigued and slightly unnerved, he stood up and walked to the center of his office, scanning his surroundings.

"Who the hell are you?" he demanded, his voice tinged with frustration and curiosity. But the silence persisted, no reply forthcoming.

"Whoever you are, just come face me," he continued, his tone firm. "I hate when people call my name for no reason. I'm asking for the last time... Who the hell are you?" His words hung in the air, a challenge to the unseen presence.

As the voice called for the third time, a strange sensation enveloped him, and suddenly, everything around him seemed to dissolve into thin air. He felt himself being pulled into what looked like a vast expanse of white void, where there was neither beginning nor end, only an endless sea of emptiness.

At Lucky's house.

Abigail lay on the bed, idly scrolling through her phone, when a strange energy filled the room, causing her to sit up with a wicked smile spreading across her lips. Sensing a presence nearby, she looked around with predatory anticipation.

"Don't bother hiding, dear. I know you're here," she purred, her voice dripping with malice. "I've been waiting for this moment for far too long. And now, here you are, willingly stepping into my domain. What a delightful surprise." Her grin widened as Ziyad materialized before her.

Abigail's gaze lingered on Ziyad, a smirk playing on her lips. "Well, well, well. Look who decided to grace me with his presence. The illustrious Lord Ziyad, also known as Lucius, if I'm not mistaken." She chuckled softly, her tone dripping with sarcasm. "You Mooners are such a fascinating bunch. So much drama, so many secrets."

Ziyad's expression remained stoic as he replied, "That's none of your concern."

Abigail chuckled, her eyes gleaming with amusement. "Oh, but it is my concern, dear. It's all anyone's concern when you Mooners start stirring up trouble. Your lives are like tangled webs, so intricate and confusing. Sometimes, I can't help but be entertained by it all."

Ziyad's lips curled into a sinister smile as he spoke, his voice laced with malice. "Ah yes, indeed. Confusion is a most effective weapon against one's enemies."

Abigail met his gaze with defiance, her own expression unyielding. "You think that menacing grin of yours can intimidate me? Ha! You must be delusional."

Ziyad's eyes narrowed, his tone turning venomous. "If you have any sense left in that twisted mind of yours, you'll surrender now. Lucky's a fool to put his trust in a deceitful wench like you." His words dripped with contempt as he hurled insults at her.

Abigail chuckled darkly, her amusement evident. "Oh, there's no need for that, my dear Ziyad. Why resort to curses? The most amusing part is, no matter what you say or do, he still won't believe you. What a splendid show we have."

Ziyad's patience wore thin, his voice laced with frustration. "Shut your foul mouth! I won't tolerate another word from you."

"Ah, but why the outburst? Are you upset that he'll never trust you? Shall I remind you of the past, and the reasons why he can never trust you again? Do you wish to revisit those memories?" Abigail taunted, her tone dripping with malicious glee.

"Shut up, don't provoke me," Ziyad warned, his voice laced with anger.

Abigail smirked, her eyes gleaming with malice. "Why shouldn't I? Are you afraid you might lose control, like you did when you killed your parents a hundred years ago?" she taunted.

"I didn't kill them! I didn't! I DIDN'T DO IT!" Ziyad shouted, his voice cracking with emotion.

"I know you didn't do it, darling, but who's going to believe you? No one, dear, no one," Abigail said, her laughter echoing in the room.

"Shut the fuck up!" Ziyad roared, lunging towards her and pinning her neck against the wall. Her laughter only intensified his rage.

"What's wrong, am I getting under your skin? You should brace yourself because this is just the beginning," she taunted, her laughter bordering on insanity.

"Bro, calm down. You don't know anything. Should I let you in on a little secret, something no one knows? Do you want to know who killed your parents? Do you?" she continued, her voice dripping with malicious delight. "I did, Ziyad. I did. And there's nothing you can do about it," she declared, her laughter echoing off the walls once more.
