Abigail gasped as she woke up in bed, her chest heaving up and down. She struggled to catch her breath and steady her breathing, feeling disoriented from the vividness of her dream. Slowly, she focused on her surroundings, trying to shake off the lingering effects of the intense experience.
"What type of dream was that? Why would I and that... beast be so intimate?" Abigail muttered to herself, her mind still reeling from the vividness of the dream. She could still feel the phantom sensations of his touch lingering on her skin, making every inch of her body feel sensitive and alive.
Her lips involuntarily formed a pout as she recalled the dream's effect on her, feeling as though it had been all too real. Her thoughts flashed back to the violent scene from the dream, where he had plucked out the eye of the man who had almost killed her. The juxtaposition of intimacy and violence left her feeling confused and unsettled. She shook her head, trying to clear her mind of the disturbing images, but they lingered, haunting her thoughts.
"What type of dream was that? And why would he save me?" Abigail muttered to herself, her mind still grappling with the conflicting emotions stirred up by the dream. She found it hard to believe that someone like him would ever come to her rescue, considering their tumultuous history. "That's not even possible. I'm sure he's just waiting for the chance to punish me," she reasoned, trying to dismiss the vivid images from her mind as mere fantasy.
"Dreams are just dreams," she told herself firmly, though the lingering unease persisted. Despite her skepticism, she couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to the dream than just her subconscious playing tricks on her.
With a sense of unease gnawing at her, she began to search her body for any signs of strangeness, her fingers hesitantly exploring every inch. She even checked down there, despite her aversion to wearing underwear to bed, just to reassure herself that everything was okay.
Finally, she reached for her phone on the nightstand and checked the time, only for her jaw to drop in disbelief at what she saw.
"10:00!" Abigail exclaimed in shock. "Oh my God, I'm late! Stupid dream, why did you have to make me wake up at this time? This is so annoying!" she yelled, frustration evident in her voice as she hurried into the bathroom, realizing she had overslept.
FEW HOURS LATER
Abigail arrived at the company, taking in a deep breath as she walked through the entrance. The familiar surroundings did little to calm her nerves as she braced herself for whatever awaited her inside. Uncertainty hung in the air, but she was determined to face whatever challenges lay ahead. With a sense of determination, she stepped forward, ready to confront whatever the day had in store for her.
