Chereads / HER HAREM / Chapter 4 - NEW TEAM

Chapter 4 - NEW TEAM

Soon after, Sooyoung was following her brother's back as they hurried down the small narrow road that they had to go through because they couldn't enter through the front door. Journalists were still flooding the front of the SYG Entertainment building, and barging in through there was ridiculous.

Fortunately, there is a small road leading to the back door of the official cafe that is not touched by greedy reporters, so the staff and other members in the building can still go in and out, even though Sooyoung is sure most of them are still in there for two days full.

Sooyoung and Seungkwan managed to get in and rushed to the elevator. A glimpse before the door closed, Sooyoung saw a row of men who looked like bodyguards standing behind the glass door with their hands on their hips as they faced the wave of news seekers. Just looking at them was tiring.

"They keep doing that because Director Song doesn't want to give any information," said Seungkwan right after seeing the curious and confused expression on his younger sister's face.

Sooyoung sighed. "Rather than that, I'm still questioning why I'm here with you."

Seungkwan looked at the reflection of his sister's face from the elevator wall because the girl was standing behind him. "Let's just say you're here to help me move. You just need to bring some stuff from my office on the fourth floor to the fifth floor."

"But---"

"That is if we don't meet the Director!"

Sooyoung gulped down her protest sentence. Why is it so hard to refuse when other people are forcing her? Sooyoung grumbled inwardly but didn't hate her brother's wish.

The small metal chamber stopped and gave a slight jolt followed by a loud clank. The door opened, and the first thing Sooyoung saw was a couple who had the same tired look as Seungkwan. Their eyes widened at the same time, then took two steps back in unison when Sooyoung and Seungkwan jumped out of the elevator.

"Seungkwan? You're back already?"

Sooyoung recognized the woman, she was Hexagon's second assistant manager, Moon Hyejin, and next to her was Moon Woolim. They were both more surprised when they saw Sooyoung.

"Wait, are you...."

"My sister, Sooyoung. You've met her before, right?"

"Good morning, Mrs. and Mr. Moon." Sooyoung greeted friendly by showing her best smile.

Hyejin looked at Sooyoung in disbelief, shifting closer to admire the girl, "Hey, the last time we met, you still had two braids, how come now you grow up so big?"

"That's because you met her when she was still in high school," Seungkwan replied.

Woolim showed the same reaction. "Are you in college now?"

"Third year," Sooyoung smirked. The two people in front of her are indeed not strangers, moreover, they are working with Seungkwan.

"You grew up so fast!" Hyejin exclaimed then laughed crisply, reaching out to give her a warm hug. Sooyoung accepted it and felt a warm pat on the back.

"You know where the Director is now?" Seungkwan broke up the small reunion by asking.

"I haven't seen him, he just nagged in front of a team of lawyers, then just disappeared," Hyejin replied, then her brow furrowed. "By the way, how about my request yesterday?"

Seungkwan already guessed that Hyejin immediately charged him, so he put his arm around his sister's shoulder. "I brought her for you."

"Huh?" Hyejin's eyes widened, watching Sooyoung who smiled awkwardly repeatedly.

"You want to be an assistant manager, Sooyoung?"

"Erm." Sooyoung nodded slowly. "My brother told me to... Yeah, I guess so."

Woolim and Hyejin looked at each other like they were doing some kind of telepathy with each other. After a few seconds, Hyejin's face turned bright as if her tired eyes had turned healthy again.

"That's a great idea! I was going to take my nephew with me, but he was immediately skeptical because of yesterday's scandal!" Hyejin grabbed Sooyoung's hands, shaking them up and down. "Sooyoung, you're so kind! We have to find Director Song now, please!"

Again Sooyoung was dragged somewhere by them. They circled all over the floor and questioned the staff one by one until they found the figure they were looking for in one of the meeting rooms.

Seungkwan explained everything to that former actor. Song Yeong Gul wore an unreadable expression as he watched Sooyoung. It seems that this time his temperament has decreased slightly.

"I remember you, two Hongik students who came to interview me." Song Yeong Gul commented, nodded curtly, then continued with basic questions.

Sooyoung was unprepared for a sudden interview, but thanks to her experience as a campus journalist and exchanging answers with many people, Sooyoung was able to answer the question. Although, in her heart, Sooyoung did not feel that what she said was able to satisfy the owner of the company.

"Well then, you can join here." Song Yeong Gul said after receiving a long answer. His smile was a little interested, and he waved at the secretary next to him.

"Was that serious?" Sooyoung asked everyone gathered around the table in the company cafeteria. Her consciousness seemed to be floating in the air after coming out of that impromptu interview.

"Yes, it is, Sooyoung! Finally, the three of us can share the task from now on!" Hyejin is the most relieved here. Woolim next to her nodded in agreement.

"But... come on. I don't have any experience! I'm totally a newbie who probably will burden you all!"

Hyejin snapped her fingers, then repeated the self-description that Sooyoung herself said very eloquently, "Learn at Hongik University, communicates fluently, can speak both Korean and English like a native speaker, used to dealing with many people, and most importantly, can drive a car!"

"You can immediately become a Road Manager, Sooyoung," added Woolim. "You know? The one who drives to some shooting places."

Seeing the confused look on his younger sister's face, Seungkwan also volunteered to explain, "You just need to look after and take the kids."

"That's right. Besides, Woolim and I will take care of it the other duty so you don't have to worry! Just take it easy...."

For half an hour, Sooyoung listened to what was her duty from Hyejin. The thirty-year-old woman herself now holds the position of PR Manager, who takes care of all the work jobs of the Hexagon members, while Woolim is the Head Manager who replaces Seungkwan's previous position. Their duties and responsibilities are even more complicated.

"Anyway, there's nothing for you to worry about. All the skills you have are enough!" Hyejin ended her lengthy lecture.

"It's not that hard to take care of the Hexagon kids. They're at your age, I'm sure you all will get along very well!"

"I understand, Mrs. Moon," Sooyoung replied.

"No, no. Since we'll be working together and seeing each other often, you should call me big sister!" Hyejin laughed. The atmosphere around the table softened and the tension in Sooyoung's heart also faded.

"You can come back alone, right?" asked Seungkwan, standing holding the back door of the cafe and facing his younger sister who was outside.

"Yeah. I have to go see Ahreum too, right?" Sooyoung let out a short breath, smiling faintly.

"Don't be mad at me."

Sooyoung shook her head. "I'll take it as an experience."

Seungkwan patted the top of his brother's head affectionately. "I'll be home tomorrow. Ah, for starters, you can try looking up Hexagon on the internet."

"Yeah. Then, I'll get going," Sooyoung said, waving before stepping away from the company's backyard and turning into a small alley.

"Huh ... why is my life turning so fast, anyway?" Sooyoung kicked the pebbles.
