Chapter 33 - Treating the fractured arm and reaching the Middle stage!

"Now, now. Now that the nuisance is gone, how should I treat this broken arm?" Clover pondered as he eyed his left arm which was swinging in every direction without his control. Suddenly, a loud booming cold, reserved voice resounded in his mind.

[I suggest, host, to reach the middle stage now. Since you have already experienced having your bone broken, it was already twenty percent of what you will experience in cultivating to reach the middle stage.]

With another battle, which not only increased his mental shock resistance, the voice of God's Record wasn't that loud for him, and he could take it now without complaints. As he was hesitating to follow what God's Record suggests, he suddenly exclaimed, "Ah! Might as well use this chance to reach the middle stage!"

He then added, "That's right! Based on the exposition of the cultivation manual. The middle stage is a break and restores of bone process, so using this chance to cultivate to reach the middle stage is a chance for me, since not only my power increase, but my fractured bone will return back to normal."

His right hand guided his left limb to form his body in the lotus position. He took a deep sniff and closed his eyes, taking out his attention outside, and focused to gathered and attracting the Qi.

Not long after, Clover, who saw nothing but darkness, a small wisp of light suddenly popped out. Before long, they multiplied and suddenly flew towards him. Clover then tried to feel the Qi seeping into his skin before guiding it towards his muscles and nerves, and not long after, the Qi explored all the routed to his nerves.

The QI stopped before a yellowish-gray shade of white bone, looking sturdy which was connected to another same appearance. Clover guided the Qi to what bone it would stick itself into. Not long after, the Qi stopped before a broken bone. Through the appearance of the broken bone, it seems it was impossible to reconnect it again, except if there was a thing that would act as a connector to them.

The Qi then slithered towards the broken bone. Since there were so many of them, they were divided into two groups. One was responsible for sticking itself to the other broken bone, while the other was responsible for the other broken bone. They slithered like a sperm going to the egg, before resting themselves, giving rise to another living being.

"GGRRR!!" The intense acute pain was now taking its effect. Clover could still take it since his cry wasn't loud, unlike before.

After the bone connected, Clover opened his eyes immediately and took a large deep breath. After panting enough air, he immediately closed his eyes and continued tempering his other bone before he lost connection to the other Qi.

This continued for three hours, and the high-pitched wailed of pain continued to reverberate throughout the forest. Birds after Birds fluttered their wings, as they flew out of their nest to avoid the ear-shattering cry out loud of the king of beast.

Despite Clover's unguarded position, no one dared to mess with him. So his cultivation continued with tranquility—or only the deaf would be thought so.

Sun was about to set, with its upper half body, continued spreading its light to the horizon of trees. The small commotion in the southwest part of the South Continent has long since dried up.

In a barren land where the small commotion happened, all living things withered like an evil existence just came here and spread its dead essence to the living things. The river, which was almost affected, continued gushing its water, flowing down in its direction.

Not long from the distance where the barren land sat, a young man resting his back on the ground panting heavily, and was closing his eyes before smiling in ecstasy. "HAHAHA. Success! Not only was my broken bone restored. I have reached the middle stage!" He exclaimed.

He was over the moon when his plan turned into success. He never considered a failure since if he had failed in his experiment, he would be nothing like a crippled one. Now that he had reached the middle stage, a visible change was conspicuous in his body.

His bulging muscles on every part of the muscle on his body shrank like an egg of the ostrich turned into the egg of a chicken. His body became slim, but his bone was rather conspicuous in his hand like an iron, which looked solid and firm enough to punch a steel plate without having a light bruise on his knuckles.

[Congratulations host for reaching the middle stage of Rank 1—body refinement phase. The host's current stage was updated already in the Cultivation phase/stage function. If the host desires to check for it, please request God's Record. Thank you.]

As the cold, emotionless voice resounded to his mind, Clover was bewildered for why God's Record announced it now. It was over almost more than a minute since he reached the middle stage. The timing of her announcement wasn't right.

He voiced out his thoughts to receive the answer to his curiosity. He asked, "System, why did you report my advancement just now? What happened?" a sound of concern was mixed within his voice.

[Please excuse me for that, host. I have been accumulating Qi to replenish the energy I used as an expenditure to cleanse the evil essence of contaminating your body, and it took me a minute to stabilize it. It almost takes out forty percent instead of the supposed thirty, and you know the answer as to why is that, host.]

The last part sounded a little colder than usual, since Clover could feel a chilling feeling crawling on his back. Trying to comfort God's Record anger, Clover asked with a bitter smile, "At least you helped me, which means that you care a lot for me."

[…]

God's Record didn't reply, yet the coldness spreading to Clover's body didn't diminish in the slightest. It only continued to spread when he made the shameless remark.

He tried to shift the topic when it dawned on him the supposed reward he will receive from the mission. Turning his head, his gaze landed on the crimson-colored rapier, which its point—pointing towards Clover, as if assessing him.
