"It seems to me that everything went well."
Far from the forest where the whole battle had taken place, Kure Hollis commented as he watched all of Yuji's allies gathered together in a rather heated conversation.
In the end, no one was seriously injured, with the result being a landslide victory for Yuji's group.
Everyone was pleased with Charles Choi's defeat, and although most of them weren't ready to jump for joy, they could enjoy the moment with their companions.
Charles Choi was a thorn in the side of all of them, someone who would never let them move on, even if they wanted to give up on everything.
But now that was over. Charles Choi no longer had power over any of them, and they could finally live their lives in peace.
Even if not everything had been resolved for most of them, at least now they had the greatest danger far away from them.
"Uh... Sir." Daniel, approaching Tom Lee, suddenly caught the man's eye, making him turn to look at him.
"What's wrong, kid?"
Seeing the man staring at him in all his imposing glory, Daniel swallowed, but didn't flinch.
"Could you take me to Jinyeong Park? Yuji told me you know where he is." Daniel, by making this request, was clearly showing that he had no malicious intentions, which made Tom Lee raise an eyebrow in curiosity.
"And what do you want with him? Charles Choi has already fallen, so any information he has is already insignificant."
"..." Daniel lowered his gaze for a moment, his mind wandering to the whole situation with his mother and grandmother when he mentioned Jinyeong's name and simply showed his face.
"I... I believe he may have some connection to my family, I'd like to ask him about it directly."
Tom Lee remained silent, but seeing no lie in the boy's words, he just sighed as he shrugged.
"When we leave, come with me in my car. I'll take you to him, but I can't guarantee that he'll say anything. His mental state is a bit... Chaotic."
"I understand!"
Hollis watched that interaction with interest, his eyes moving around the group for a few more seconds, before he turned to see Raian sitting on the hood of their car.
"What are you doing, Raian?" Hollis approached, which caught the attention of the "most powerful Kure".
"All that shit was boring." Raian crossed his arms in clear annoyance. "I would have had more fun if I'd been training with that idiot Niko, and besides, I didn't even get to kill anyone."
In Hollis's eyes, at that moment, Raian looked like a tantruming child upset because he hadn't had enough fun.
"You didn't have to come. I intended to bring Reiichi, but it was you who intruded."
"And what would that idiot do? Stare at himself in the mirror for the whole fight?"
Hollis sighed and simply walked away, leaving Raian alone with his complaints.
Kure, walking around with an interested look on his face, suddenly stopped when he saw Yuji and an older man, the one who had introduced himself as the kidnapped girl's father.
Samdak, next to Yuji, observed Gaeul lying on the seat of one of the cars. Her face looked tired, but now safe, she seemed to have regained some of her skin color.
The silence was palpable between the two men, an atmosphere that didn't seem at all pleasant to anyone observing them from afar.
That was until one of them decided to start talking.
"I know you're angry." Yuji was the one who opened his mouth, his eyes never straying from the girl. "And I understand completely. Gaeul should never have been brought into this."
Samdak remained silent, his brow furrowing for a moment before a sigh escaped his lips.
"My daughter is growing up and becoming an independent woman. Soon, I won't be able to protect her anymore." Samdak approached the girl, ruffling her hair before retreating to Yuji's side again. "And she likes you, kid."
Yuji showed no emotion at this revelation. He would be lying if he said he didn't know.
"I want her to be happy, but I also want her to be protected at all times, away from any danger to her life." Samdak frowned, turning to look at Yuji. "But I know that with you, away from danger is something she can't be."
Yuji blinked a few times, and about to say something, Samdak was quick to cut him off.
"But I know you'll do anything to protect her... Maybe knowing that doesn't put my mind at ease, but it's enough."
Yuji, turning to Gaeul, smiled a little when he saw her sleeping so peacefully.
It was true that he knew Gaeul had feelings for him, but while he had Senju and Elena on his mind, he was unable to reciprocate his feelings.
But now that he was in a polygamous relationship with four women he had sworn to protect, he was capable of it... But was it something he wanted?
Gaeul was a great girl, Yuji could tell after spending some time with her, but getting into a relationship with her involved some problems.
Would she be accepted by the other girls? Would he be able to give her the amount of attention that would satisfy her? Would he be able to protect her?
Yuji didn't have the answer to any of these questions. Being in a relationship with several girls was something new, and even if he liked every one of them, it was still a bit weird.
Putting one more into the equation wasn't something he could simply do, especially since thanks to the lives of each of them, and his own life, he wasn't really able to pay adequate attention to each of them.
He was still hesitant to accept Gaeul's feelings.
"..."
But watching the girl sleep, he sighed as he closed his eyes.
But perhaps for her sake, he could make an effort to make everything work.
"And if she's ever in danger again, I swear I'll tear you to pieces, kid."
Listening to Samdak as he said each word, Yuji gave a nervous smile.
"Understood, Dad..."
"Don't you dare!"
