____Narration____
As Rino pressed an ice pack to Rei's chin, absolute silence hung around the two. Perhaps it was because they were still processing what had happened, or even because of their disappointment and shame, but one thing was certain, neither of them was willing to exchange words.
Rei, as a fighter representing Rino, his beloved, losing in the first round was an absolute shame that required the practice of Seppuku. How could he let his pride blind him in such a way? This was a mistake, which regrettably he could no longer correct. Even if he believed that he could have won the fight by following other strategies, it was already in the past, so thinking about it was no longer of any use.
The only thing he could do now, is to ask forgiveness from his beloved, and wait for her decision. As the woman he had sworn loyalty to going against the code of his own clan, her decision was law.
"Rino..."
Rei tried to speak, but was quickly stopped by the woman's index finger, which gently placed it over his lips.
"It was my fault." Rino said, her eyes closed in a dull expression.
The fighter was surprised to hear this. Her fault? How could she say that being that it was completely his fault? Rei was confused, but it didn't take long for Rino to clarify things.
"I could never get over my revulsion for 'unnatural deaths', even after a few years in the Kengan association, so when my fighters lost a single time, I would make them give up the fighting life, lest they die." Opening her eyes, Rino turned to Rei, who was looking at her with a complicated expression. "But you were the only one I decided to treat differently. Maybe if you hadn't decided to stop killing for me-"
"Stop." Rei was quick to interrupt her. "I decided not to kill, so don't blame yourself for that. My fists just aren't ready yet. But not killing is my goal, so don't keep blaming yourself for that."
The fighter turned around, his eyes turning to his fists, which were scratched from his struggle. His eyes shone with determination, but in contrast to that, behind him, Rino was looking at his back with indifference.
With Rei's defeat, the woman knew that his usefulness would only last so far. She knew that the separation of the two of them was near.

In Tomari's private room, the woman stared at the screen broadcasting the arena with her usual shark-like smile on her lips. After watching Yuji's performance, she was nothing short of impressed. From his fights in professional MMA alone, she knew that he had increased his skills to a new level, but she didn't think it had been that much.
Even Muteba saw him as a threat now, and that coming from one of the biggest mercenaries in the world, meant a lot.
In all honesty, Togo was quite upset that he had refused her offer for him to fight for her indirectly. Without any doubt, should Muteba somehow be defeated, Yuji might have a chance to win the tournament.
"Thinking about the boy?" Tomari's eyes widened in surprise when a voice sounded beside her, the woman turning to see Muteba with his arms crossed.
"You idiot, don't come any closer like that. How can someone so heavy have such smooth steps?" Tomari complained, this drawing a toothy grin from the mercenary. "Why aren't you with those women? I hired them exclusively to satisfy you."
"Oh, they are very tired right now. I'm giving them a break." Muteba said with pride in his tone.
'Damn insatiable mercenary. Well, if it doesn't affect his performance in fights, then fuck it.' Tomari thought, his eyes turning to the screen.
'His next fight will be against Sekibayashi. That damn Gorilla is sure to be strong, so try to get ready."
"Hehehe... No need to worry about that."
.
"Your Jeet Kune Do is very incomplete."
In the rest room where Yuji's group was, the young fighter was standing in front of Himuro, who frowned as he heard the boy say.
Yuji scratched his chin for a moment, his eyes turning to the ceiling as he looked thoughtful. "Actually, the more correct would be 'neglected. ".
He corrected himself, this causing Himuro to raise an eyebrow in confusion. Since he had passed some information to Kaneda, Himuro felt safe to ask for the boy's help with his Jeet Kune Do, since remembering the fight between the two, he knew that Yuji was far more skilled than himself.
It was quite shameful and even humiliating to think that a 17 year old teenager was more skilled than him, who was already 25 years old, but after his defeat against him, and soon after against Kaneda, he learned in a cruel way to be humble.
Therefore, he did not refrain from asking Yuji for help, who, seeing nothing wrong with this, readily accepted.
In fact, Yuji enjoyed teaching. It was a fun experience, with him feeling quite happy to share information related to martial arts. Initially, he didn't really like the idea, but after teaching Osanai, Akira and Shiki, and sometime later, Kou, it turned out to be quite fun.
It was rewarding to see how someone he was teaching evolved. This made him think several times about opening a dojo to compete with the biggest in Japan, maybe even surpass the Shinshinkai Karate school, which was the biggest in the whole country.
But that was an idea for another time, one that would require time that Yuji did not have.
"Jeet Kune Do is formless, and that allows the addition of many irregular blows during combat, such as eye-fingers and attacks on sensitive areas, but if you think that should be the main asset of the martial art, you are completely wrong." Moving closer to Himuro as he spoke, Yuji grabbed the man's shoulder and pulled him close while throwing his elbow toward his face, stopping the attack inches from the fighter's face. "The main asset of the style is the ability to adapt in certain situations. Knowing when to use your elbow, fist, fingers, knees, and feet are essential to that."
He stepped back, quickly getting into the stance used by him and Himuro as they fought.
"You have a great center of gravity, and your strikes are fast even for experienced practitioners of Jeet Kune Do, but that's about it." Himuro, despite feeling quite offended by the boy's words, did not interrupt him, his attention fully focused on his explanation. "You neglect the fundamentals of the martial art, and put all your attention on the medium techniques upwards. You forget that although Jeet Kune Do does not have a form, it still has its basis, which one must follow."
The boy turned his attention to Himuro, signaling for the man to put on a punch trimming gauntlet, which the man was quick to do.
"Usually, you use Jeet Kune Do with fast attacks, and an agile movement. That's not wrong at all, but by doing that, you don't extract the full potential of the style." Yuji said while letting his right arm swing freely. This left Himuro confused, but deciding to ask questions later, he waited for what Yuji was about to show him.
Bam!
Yuji's fist struck the gauntlet in an instant, Himuro's eyes widening in surprise as he barely noticed the blow coming.
"Normally, you attack this way, reducing the power of your blows to gain more speed. I don't blame you for doing this, after all, you've learned that it should be like this, but it does limit the style a lot."
"The real Jeet Kune Do is used this way."
Boom!
Himuro wasn't even able to react when Yuji's fist hit the gauntlet, his body being pushed backwards as the gauntlet was torn and flew all over the place.
"It is necessary to make your muscles work together during each blow dealt. This way, this will extract the maximum strength and speed from your attacks."
"That is the real Jeet Kune Do."
