Connor was unsure of what happened. He was standing on the deck of the ship one second before some giant creature appeared, covering the sky with ease, and the next thing he knew he was sent flying into the water.
Before that happened though, he saw a man.. An old man. He wore a pure white robe with golden lines going around the edges, he had a red crystal embedded in his forehead where the third eye should be, he had white hair and a wooden staff that he used to walk. Although the ship was shaking violently and everyone was scrambling about, he seemed to be just fine, walking as if he was on a stroll in the park.
The crystal on his forehead started glowing slightly, before erupting with some powerful force that Connor could swear looked like a laser or a beam of sorts that hit the creature right on its chest. Unfortunately, that was all Connor could remember except the screams and the ship being torn to pieces as if it was some sort of toy.
Darkness…

Connor did not know what fate befallen him, when he felt something poking him. He slowly opened his eyes as his hearing started coming back. A crab looking thing started to rapidly wobble away after noticing some movement, heavy rain fell as he slowly got up, cupping a few fistfuls of sand. He stood up with some difficulty while looking around.
It was night, with the stars and 2 moons doing their best to provide some light to his surroundings. Looking around, Connor couldn't help but take a few deep breaths, calming himself down. Bodies were laying around everywhere, bodies belonging to the sailors and a couple novices. Some were still bleeding, either from their heads or somewhere else as the sand beneath them was red.
He did not know what to do, he just stood there still trying to calm himself down, before he slowly started thinking.
"What was that thing? I heard someone call it a Titan! Would it attack this place? I'm exhausted, I should find somewhere to rest" Connor started moving right after, as some sort of path was ahead of him leading to god knows where. "There are lamps, maybe i'll find some people" Connor thought before he started to walk, but quickly stopped himself, the slum part of him slowly creeping up. "Maybe i should search these bodies, i might find something of value that i can use… maybe even a weapon" Becoming a slave again? Connor would not stand for it, he moved quickly and started looting whatever he could find, he even started walking along the shore for more corpses, that was when he saw someone that gave him a surprise.
A woman was lying on the sand, her pretty face assaulted by the rain as her eyes were still wide open, fear and pain apparent in them, her neck was twisted, completely broken. Whatever skin that was showing was blue, full of bruises and scratches. Connor could see her right arm bent in the wrong direction. He had seen some similar cases as he searched the corpses, but none of them were people he knew. The ship was big and of the sailors he spoke with were probably nothing but the 2% of the total.
"Ariel" He said softly, closing his eyes and whispering a prayer for the woman. She was dragged to this mess by the Inquisition and now look what happened to her. Connor could do nothing but sigh, he walked to an empty spot and started digging.
"At least now you can finally rest" He said, looking at the grave in front of him before continuing on.
After making sure he looted everything from the corpses around, Connor had a decent collection. He found a machete on one of the sailors, which was a good find, he also got himself 2 healing potions, which he learned about their existence on the ship, 20 Gold Coins which was the currency of this world, rings and other miscellaneous items and 3 grog bottles with some fish for some reason.
Equipped with his new partner, the Machete, Connor started his journey, walking along the dirt path. He walked ahead, finally basking in the light of the lamps, he was sick and tired of the dark.
"Was that growling?" Connor frowned. He could have swore that he heard a low growl but he couldn't see anything.. "Will the blood attract wildlife? But it's raining, the smell should not be that strong right?" Connor muttered. "What am I saying, this is not earth!" He said, grabbing the handle of his machete tighter and preparing for any sneak attack.
Unfortunately, it was too late. The moment Connor took his stance, a large furry creature which couldn't be seen well jumped on him, and a burning pain appeared on his shoulder. Connor's muscles tensed, knowing full well he was being attacked, with the creature dangerously close to his throat. Maybe because he moved, but it somehow missed and got a hold on his shoulder. He quickly aimed his machete towards the thing on top of him as he started stabbing it. A whimper was heard before it let go, taking a few steps back.
With it finally in the light, Connor could see a giant wolf with a bloody mouth, it looked skinny as if it was starved for a while, its eyes looked crazy and twisted, no longer sane after getting a small taste.
"Hold on.. A bloody mouth?" Connor muttered, his empty hand reached towards his shoulder and a painful sting assaulted him. "Fuck!" He said, keeping his eyes on the wolf. He switched the machete to his other hand, knowing full well he won't be able to put in enough strength with that kind of injury.
RAGH!
The wolf did not wait for the human any longer and jumped towards him again, opening its maw, bearing its sharp fangs, hoping to bite down on the throat this time, too bad though as Connor quickly dodged to the right, lifting his arm and using the wolf's jump and his own force to stab the machete right into its eye. Blood splattered everywhere with a few whimpers, before going silent. The machete fell from his hand as it got stuck in the wolf's eye socket, but a few pulls got it out.
"The blood will attract more creatures, I should quickly leave!" He said, continuing his walk with his guard up. He quickly drank one of the healing potions and watched with surprise as the wound started to itch, then the bleeding stopped, building scabs around it. Although it did not close up and completely heal like he expected, this was more than good enough as he no longer had to fear any infections.
