Elise
"Here" My eyes darted to him back to the car key on his palm. "I don't understand. What for?"
"It's yours" He said. I passed him a look like someone who has grown two heads.
"What tricks are you trying to play?"
"Go outside and see for yourself if you don't believe me" He gestured to the door with his eyes. I passed him a glare. Nevertheless, grabbed the keys. As I made my way out, he tailed behind me giving me direction. He opened the garage gate and I was left in a speechless state.
There my car parked exquisite like a brand new. I completely forgot Elijah was standing beside me. I didn't try to hide my surprise and happiness. "I love it" I found myself saying aloud.
"It looks so beautiful" I rounded the car accessing it. It was indeed like a brand new.
"Thought you were on fire earlier" I was snapped back by Elijah's words which result me into rolling my eyes.
"If you knew you have already fixed my car, then why would you make a joke with that crap. What does that mean?" I said. The corner of his lips twitched up.
"Like I said, I have two sides to me. And your spitfire was what made me do that. But it's settled now" Had it been the car didn't fit my taste, it wouldn't have ended well. But, I will let it slide. No more damages.
"It's settled. I will be on my way now. Send someone to cme and pick the crap from my house" I said unlocking the car door.
"It has been taken care of already" I was about to open the door when I stopped. "What do you mean?"
"I've already sent someone over and the car has been picked up" I say no more. I don't have anymore business with it. I have gotten my car and that's it.
I reversed the car out of the garage. "Have a good night rest Mr. Elijah. Goodbye" I didn't wait for his reply and I roared the car and drove off. We're not meeting again. That's certain. I have no business with him anymore. And I don't plan to have.
Much to my surprise when I arrived home, the car wasn't there anymore. "Crazy man" I didn't know when the words left my lips. I shake my head with a smile and got inside.
However, I have forgotten, my torture wouldn't end. Mom was literally seated on one of the couches. I know she's waiting for me. We still have an unfinished business. "You're finally back" She said immediately she heard my footsteps. I knew it. She was waiting for me.
"Yes Mom. I got my car back. And right I'm exhausted. What I need right now is sleep" I gave her no room for any more question. I took her silence as go ahead and proceeded to make my way up. At last, life shouldn't be taken granted.
I woke up feeling much excited I don't know why maybe it was because of my brand new car but then I'm just feeling free spirited. Even when I came down for breakfast Mom didn't let me be she brought up the topic of the dancing classes and I know I have no excuse to dodge her question not when Dad and Aria are literally staring me down.
"You didn't tell me anything about dancing classes. Though I spoke to Vanessa and she told me everything went well but then I wanted to hear it from you but you're literally dodging the topic"
I let out an exasperated breath. I have no escape. I omit out a sigh together with a small smile
"Yes mom it actually went well and I enjoyed the dance. So far it's good" I said forming my lips into a thin line.
"That's good. Next t-" I didn't allow her to complete her statement when I cut her off. "I'm busy Mom. My schedule is occupied the whole of this week and next week"
pretty much to say, there won't be next time. I only said what I said only to kill off the conversation.
"There might be at least a two hours free time. You can use that" I closed my eyes and opened them again.
"Mom. You know I'm doing it only for your sake. I don't know the reason why you're so keen on making me to take dancing classes" I voiced out.
"Of course you won't know. You guys don't know what we your parent are doing to give the best for you"
Okay, she's on with her emotional acts. She knew whenever she do that, it weaken us . Dad was conciously silent eating his breakfast. Dad is a kind of person who doesn't talk much. While mom is the opposite of that.
"Alright Mom, I've heard but please don't push me anymore. I promise to do any other thing but not dancing classes" I ushered my eyes going to the wall clock. It's already time for me to leave for work.
"Since you insist. You made the promise yourself" The way she said it with a smile tells me she'd cook something else. I just hope I didn't put myself more into trouble.
I cleaned my mouth with the table napkin and rose up to a standing position. "Aria can't you concentrate on your food for a minutes" She was busy pressing on her phone. She barely touch her food.
"You're always pressing your phone. I'm seizing the phone real soon" Mom said. Aria immediately squeezed her face into a frown. That suit her better.
"All right. Mom, Dad, I'll be on my way see you guys later"
"Sis can you please drop me off at the college" Aria ushered standing up too.
"Now you have my time" I passed her a glare. She didn't say anything only flashed me a grin. We made our way out after saying our farewell to our parents.
