Chapter 2 - PVP GAME

A cold steel blade was pressed against his throat.

'𝘍𝘶𝘤𝘬, 𝘰𝘬𝘢𝘺. 𝘑𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬 𝘊𝘳𝘰𝘸. 𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬. 𝘍𝘶𝘤𝘬. 𝘑𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘵𝘳𝘺 𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨. 𝘍𝘶𝘤𝘬 𝘧𝘶𝘤𝘬 𝘧𝘶𝘤𝘬'

Crow put his hands up slowly. He quietly debated on what to say. They stood in silence with the blade to his throat for what felt like an hour to Crow.

"P-please don't hurt me" he decided to say. The wind was starting to get stronger as a storm was forming. The sound of wolves and the rustling of leaves were loud in the silence. Sweat was dripping from his face and tears started to form in his eyes. A minute passed; two, three, four, all in silence from both parties. The blade was removed from his throat. Out of complete human instinct, Crow started to run.

"OPEN INVENTORY!" he yelled as he started to run. A gold HUD opened up with eight empty slots.

𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲:

"You've got to be kidding me, no starting inventory?" continuing to run and closing his inventory. The sound of a snap from a bowstring was heard as his inventory closed and an arrow lunged itself into Crow's shoulder. Another arrow streaked past Crow grazing the side of his cheek. As he cried and screamed he ran deeper into the forest until the arrows stopped. Keeping quiet he walked carefully trying to find a place to hide until he slipped and knocked himself out.

"Wake up. Wake up. Wake up." a loud higher pitched voice said waking up Crow. His eyes opened to a bright red creature wearing rags and staring at him intensely. Fear started to cover Crow's face once again.

'𝘍𝘜𝘊𝘒 𝘐𝘛'𝘚 𝘈 𝘎𝘖𝘉𝘓𝘐𝘕. 𝘐 𝘤𝘢𝘯'𝘵 𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘤𝘩 𝘢 𝘣𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘬!'

"I patched you up while you were asleep." the goblin said pointing at the bandages wrapped around the arrow wound then walking away. Crow sighed in relief as the fear started to leave his body. The room was muddy and covered in garbage. Wooden figurines of various creatures lined the walls of the room on shelves that were half broken and rotted. A bowl of what looked to be porridge was placed in front of him in a bowl made out of wood. The porridge was cold and tasted like sewer water but he ate it happily since it was the only food he's had since being transported.

"Thank you, I can't thank you enough," Crow said, asking for seconds. Happily, the goblin poured another bowl and sat in front of him waiting for him to finish. In a matter of seconds, the food was finished to completion.

"I'm Chug. I am a goblin from the Kingdom of Jugh" he said standing tall and looking prideful.

"I'm Crow. I'm from... well I don't remember."

"Hmm. So why did you get shot"

Slightly taken aback, Crow sighed and looked at his shoulder. Crow explained his situation to Chug excluding the information of him being from another world. They talked and answered each other's questions for an hour. During this time Crow quickly realized the dire situation he was in. War of Heroes was a Massively Multiplayer Role-playing PVP game. Crow assumed if he was going to survive he'd have to fight the other players eventually or find some other way out of this unfamiliar world. Throughout the storytelling, Chug nodded and paid close attention. Understanding the situation he agreed to let Crow stay for a while if he wanted and went to take care of something in a different room. Crow sat down and covered himself in a blanket enjoying the nice warm feeling.

"Open Stats"

"So my stats go down when I take damage like in-game," Crow looked at this stat screen for a while. Mulling about it over and over until he came to a revelation. "Chug! Do you think you can teach me how to make some of these figures?"

Chug ran out of the other excitedly and grabbed Crow by the shoulders. Crow winced in pain as Chug grabbed where the wound was. He apologized and let go and instantly a wide smile grew on his face.

"You want me to teach you?" Chug seriously asked as if this wasn't a joking matter.

Slightly frightened, "Yes."

"Fantastic! We start early in the morning. Get to bed."

"How early..?"

"Dawn"

Crow frowned and fell onto the small pile of clothes he fashioned into a bed. Excited but also exhausted he fell fast to sleep.

At dawn exactly Crow was woken up to the sound of metal clashing against the stone ground of the room. Frightened and worried he shuffled quickly to the wall behind him looking at where the sound came from. Chug stared down at him and pointed to an axe that was dropped next to the bed of clothes.

"First lesson in wood carving, getting the wood!"

'𝘚𝘩𝘪𝘵'
