"Your Majesty!" Rose screamed trying to find out if the man was in the area.
Rose wiped the sweat dripping from her white forehead. Her breath hitched a little. Evidence if the weak body has started to fatigue.
In the morning when the fairy woke up from her sleep, there was still not a single trace left by the king. Trying to do something was better than waiting to die in that cave.
Rose was trying to find the Dragon Race King in an area not too far from the cave she was hiding in last night. Afraid that the man would return to the cave to find herself, while she went far to find the man.
"Your Highness Stefan." Rose screamed tiredly.
The sun was overhead but the man's silhouette was nowhere to be seen. Feeling tired, Rose decided to return to the cave while waiting for her stamina to recover.
"Wait. Didn't I already pass this place?" Rose stopped when she saw a tree having the marks she had left on her search this morning.
"Maybe I was too tired. That's why I misunderstood the mark I left." the girl thought doubtfully.
The fairy decided to once again trace the trail she left behind. Noting every scratch on the tree she made with the golden dagger. The dagger somehow fell from under the king's robe.
She had realized that the cloak must have been made by a master magician when she saw that there were no traces of the king's large wings. In addition, the black cloak belonging to the lord of darkness had a certain pattern that was sewn using sparkling gold thread. The pattern had a spell flow that she could feel but she didn't know what it meant.
"This is weird."
"The road should be right. Why do I feel like the trees are getting thicker? It's like heading towards the heart of the forest." The girl did not dare to speak her mind. Try to act as natural as possible while walking.
Not long after the beautiful fairy's footsteps stopped. Rose stood still, not daring to breathe. Someone grabbed her shoulder. She smelled the stench of the person standing behind her.
"Hihihi.. cute girl where are you going?" a woman's hoarse voice sounded terrible.
Rose's heart skipped a beat. She felt her body freeze. Even so, her lips trembled with fear.
"Somebody.."
"Please. Anyone, please save me."
"It's okay. Now close your eyes." like hearing the voice of a fairy's heart, a voice was heard. That cold but firm voice seemed to have a way of making Rose feel better.
"Calm yourself."
"Breathe slowly." Rose tried to follow the instructions given.
"Now open your eyes." another order is given.
Rose opened her eyes according to the man's words. She had just been looking for the Dragon Race King at noon. But as soon as she opened her eyes, she saw the man's handsome face illuminated by the moonlight.
"What happened?"
"Ah.." Rose screamed in pain as she clutched her throbbing head.
"There's no need to move much. Your body has just recovered a bloody wound. There are still a few bruises left."
"Why don't you use your shield when you fall?" Stefan asked suspiciously.
"I don't know." Rose touched her neck. Checking if the necklace is still attached to her neck.
"Don't know?" the king lifted one corner of his lips.
"I don't know why it doesn't work either." Rose thought. She had hidden the fact that the necklace she was wearing was a fairy ancestral treasure that was used to protect her.
"What happened?" Rose asked again when she had recovered a little.
"You fell on Verisia Grass and got caught in an illusion because you smelled it." Stefan explained. Not to mention the fact that the forest can deactivate all magic treasures and other magical items.
He chose the girl because she looks smart and quite useful. Ignoring the fact that the Fairy Race was the weakest of the races, he needed that girl to help him obtain all of the Dragon Race's inheritance from his predecessor.
"Clear this forest." Stefan spoke suddenly.
"But.."
"You can't do it?" the man scoffed.
"It's not like that. It's just.."
"Then do it now." said the king.
"I understand, Your Majesty." Rose took a light breath. Trying to endure the pain that occasionally made her head buzz.
Ohh.. What a beautiful night
The twinkling stars always accompany you The moon seems to smile at you
Why are you ignoring them
Hoping for the clouds that come just to hurt
Makes you cry full of pain
Oh.. What a beautiful night
Did you see them coming
Erase the water that has stained your beauty
Expel the black that makes you sad
And still give the light to you even though you ignore it
Oh.. My dear night
Don't let them go away
Those who are always there just for you
When you are colorless yourself
You're lonely when they disappear
You'll regret it when you can't see them again
Hug them with your presence
Take care of them with your love
Be happy together in the eerie darkness
Rose closed her eyes when her red lips let out a sweet melody that touched every soul. Calms the sound of the wind rustling. Slowly, a light flashed through the dark night. Touching every object in its path and then followed by another flickering light.
Every leaf, branch, or tree bud that came into contact with the light began to show a shining green color. Creating a scene full of charm in the forest that used to look scary.
Rose opened her eyes when the last verse of the song she was singing finished. Her face was filled with exhaustion and looked even paler than before.
"Is there a price to pay?" Stefan asked the beautiful fairy.
"Usually not Your Highness."
"But we are forbidden to restore other creatures or objects while our vitality is being compromised. It can cause the opposite effect to our bodies." Rose's voice sounded weak.
"Sleep."
"You've done enough for today." The man who was sitting next to the girl finally spoke after a while.
Rose closed her eyes after getting amnesty from the king. The Fairy Race has weak healing power. In contrast to some races that could immediately heal themselves after being injured, they took dozens of times slower to treat injuries without adequate medicine.
This time her body had completely stopped healing itself as the chanting began. It made her feel more pain than before. She was still frowning when she fell asleep because of the pain that still haunted her.
"What other secret are you keeping."
"Should I just kill you." Steven whispered when he caressed Rose's sleeping face.
"At least for now, you still have use value." Steven took out a bottle from his shirt pocket.
The man took out a green pill from the bottle. Holding it between his index finger and thumb, he put the pill into the red lips of the sleeping fairy.
The green pill melts as soon as it enters the mouth, and its effects can be seen immediately. The various bruises and scratches that would leave a scab if not treated immediately disappeared at an astonishing speed.
"Wait until I reach my goal."
"I will give you a less painful death." as if taking an oath, Stefan kissed the fairy's forehead.
