"We will rest at this inn."
"Immediately prepare a room for the Princess." Theodhore commanded his subordinates.
There were only seven people in the group. Rose and Teodhore who were in high positions had the privilege of relaxing. The coachman, assisted by one of the guards, parked their carriage beside the inn. One person booked the room. And the other two were on guard in case of a sneak attack.
"This is the umpteenth time we have rested. If it continues like this, when will we arrive?" someone who was given the task of supervising the surroundings complained.
"I don't know. Maybe we'll get there next year." the other guard chimed in disinterestedly.
"If I knew escorting a princess would be a very troublesome thing. From the start I would have asked to serve in His Majesty's army." the first person is still not satisfied.
"Don't dream. You have to pass the exam before you can complain like that." his friend laughed at the guard.
The two returned after checking the area around the inn. Report the results of their observations to the person in charge of leading the escort.
"If you still want to keep your tongues, don't say one more sentence." Teodhore gave a gentle smile that made the two guards feel goosebumps on their necks.
They forgot that the handsome young man in front of them had boundless senses. His hearing was even tens of times sharper than the dragon race in general. His abilities were even recognized by their current king.
Knock.. tock.. tok..
Teodhore knocked on the closed carriage door.
"It's time to rest today, Princess."
It didn't take long for the door to open. Showing the figure of a fairy who looks very fragile compared to the big people who guard her.
"Sorry to trouble you, Mr. Teodhore." Rose accepted the young man's outstretched hand politely.
Her footsteps were weak and her face was paler than before. They had been traveling for almost a month, but the end of the gates of the dragon kingdom's capital was yet to be seen.
Rose immediately lay down when she entered the inn room. Her frail body couldn't stand sitting all day in a rough train for weeks on end.
She knew that almost all of the Dragon Race did not use transportation. They have striking wings that are very strong and sturdy. The wings could carry them wherever they wanted, or be used as shields while fighting.
They can even turn into a dragon at any time. Although she had never seen it in person, but it was knowledge she read from the library books in her palace.
Even so, Rose didn't expect that the carriage they used to carry her was so loud. As if made carelessly so that it can be used immediately.
"Princess need not worry. We will reach the dragon race border in two days." Theodore comforted the fairy as the girl was about to enter the train in the morning.
"Thank you for the information Mr. Teodhore." Rose's voice was very soft. She just hoped that they would quickly get to their destination.
As Teodhore said, two days later they crossed the borders of the dragon kingdom. Rose was shocked by what she saw at that moment.
Various plants that should grow lush green display dry leaves that have turned yellow. The air there is very hot and stifling.
The river she passed was not a clear river in which there were small fish swimming. But a red river with a disgusting fishy smell. The dragon kingdom that was at the pinnacle of power, looked to her like an abandoned land of death.
"There's no need to rush. If there are no other obstacles, we will reach the palace before tomorrow night." Teodhore's voice was still as gentle as ever.
Bruak..
Suddenly someone fell on their table. Spilled the entire ordered dinner dish.
"Fuck." The fallen man stood up without apologizing.
Suddenly from the direction of the second floor of the inn, a well-dressed person came down with clenched fists and a red face.
"Say it one more time." the person said while clenching his teeth.
"Tch. Are you deaf. I want your beautiful girlfriend." brazen answer came out of the mouth of the rioter.
Hearing his answer, the polite looking young man gave a vertical punch towards the person who looked like a ruffian, but was blocked by the person using his strong arm. Not giving up, the young man took a hard kick to the stomach. Unfortunately the rioters had already moved aside.
"That's all, eh?" the rioter laughed disdainfully.
"God damn it." The young man took out several black daggers from the air which were directly aimed at the rioters.
As the dagger nearly hit the body, a pair of red wings shot out to protect the rioter.
"Ha ha ha.."
"So weak."
Crack..
The sound of skull bones breaking was heard. The young man who looked polite and still had a lover was lying breathless on the floor.
As the culprit walked past the table he had broken, he looked at the frail girl sitting among several grown men. Feeling that he had found a new prey, he whistled coquettishly.
But before he could harass the girl with his eloquent tongue, he felt heavy pressure from the silver-haired man who was staring at him intently.
The rioters were immediately frightened. He ran out of the inn when he felt that his life was in danger. Not caring about the girl upstairs he managed to get or the corpse he just killed.
Teodhore retracted his sharp gaze. Revealing the appearance of an educated man as his gaze turned to the fairy princess.
"Does the princess feel uncomfortable?" Teodhore asked concernedly as he watched the girl's slender fingers tremble.
"Looks like I'm not in good shape. I want to go back to my room." Rose answered quietly.
"I will escort the Princess." Teodhore said like a gentleman.
Teodhore always took a step back to maintain a comfortable distance from the princess. But this time Rose slowed her pace so they could walk side by side. The horrific scene from earlier still lingered in her mind.
"Why didn't anyone stop them?"
"Someone just got killed just like that in front of me."
"Does something like this always happen?"
Rose was frightened by the thoughts that came to her mind. Her lower realms told her not to get too far with someone who could protect her.
The pretty girl's actions made a small grin form on Teodhore's lips. He always has sharper senses than anyone. Whether it's sight, hearing or smell, nothing can match it.
Neither the powder nor the magic weapon could escape his sight. Likewise with something that the beautiful fairy used to cover her appearance.
From the start, in his eyes the appearance of the fairy girl was simply amazing. Making the sliver of tenderness he still had turned into a sense of desire and protection aimed at the fairy. Only a few. He didn't have that big of a heart to begin with.
Regarding his abilities, he didn't want to reveal the girl's little secret to his king. The dragon race does not know the concept of loyalty. Who is strong, he is in power.
Although they were both born with the nickname of a monster, both of them had their own advantages. The ruler of the dragon race might not be able to match the sharpness of his senses. But he had more violent reflexes than anyone he had ever met.
"Good evening, Princess." Teodhore said in a voice that was soft but did not detract from a man's sense of manliness.
"Good evening Mr. Teodhore." Rose answered the man politely before closing the bedroom door.
