Chapter 12 - 12. True Intention

While my father and Ray stayed with the King, I snuck out to find Albert.

It was dark, the clouds floating above the top of the tower appeared in sight.

Perhaps the Baron will be here soon, too.

"Aw… The sunset scene where the sun is bright red, the end of spring. At the foot of this tower, the girl is as beautiful as a star fruit cactus."

The sound of clapping came closer to my ear.

The person is Marquis Ress, it's not unusual for someone like him to open the story in a very formal manner.

Ress had previously dealt with the Scottfields, and maintained a good relationship with them.

Although we have known each other for a long time, the accidental "reunion" still makes me feel embarrassed.

I replied immediately, but there was still a bit of strain in my voice.

"It's my honor to receive your compliments, sir. What wind brought you here?"

Gently kissing my hand, the Marquis stood with his back to the wall.

"The flower blooms at night, I was just visiting its beauty, and accidentally met a beauty like spring in full bloom. The sky is already dark and silent, and yet this girl is alone, are you waiting for someone?"

"I will answer your question, with another question then. Do you know a baron named Albert de Crusein? I'm waiting for him."

Covering half of his face with his hands, Ress smiled gently as if it meant something.

"Cecile, are you looking for that person? Poor girl… Ray gave you so many drugs, you are not even sober anymore. He's not real, Albert is the name of the liberator Baron of Haltz, according to The Wisdom of the Holy Wise."

I was taken back, and then suddenly realized that I had just heard something very obvious.

But why couldn't I see that connection before...

Perhaps, I myself have long been no longer awake, this perception is gradually distorted under the influence of those people.

Albert's voice came from afar.

"Sorry to keep you waiting!"

Raindrops flowing through my hair.

The Marquis saw someone running over, then said goodbye, a bright smile on his face amidst the pouring rain.

In an instant, the air was filled with cold mist.

Albert took my hand and hurried into the tower.

"Why are you still standing there? Want to catch a cold?"

I grabbed his wrist and twisted it back. Albert looked on with a surprised expression, exclaiming.

Just being silent, the girl had to listen to the lies of many people who took advantage of her.

Never knowing the truth, never opening her heart to anyone, she can only buy off trust with words and "naiveness to hell".

Ridiculous…

I don't want to die while I'm still like this.

I will change myself, my weakness will have to be eliminated.

"Stop it, Albert. You think I'm an idiot?! Who are you really? How do you know the darkest secrets this Kingdom has kept hidden for so long? Or is it all a lie, and you, like any other human being, just want to take advantage of me…"
