Many beasts are born in the depths of the vast 'Aether Verse', but most will never advance without the
awakening of a Blood Order. That was the limitation of beasts but also their advantage.
These creatures are said to truly understand the inner workings of their blood, abilities, and body as a whole, being. considered as no less intelligent than sentient creatures.
The Blood Order does no refer to an Ether affinity but rather a bloodline affinity.
They didn't have a variation in name but rather followed dividing blood orders.
[Author's Note: Aether was as random as the name Jamie, also Ether and Aether will be used as a pair, more on this later. Btw Blood Order is less of an affinity and more of an evolutionary path, more on this later.]
"Richie are you alright?" Lionel though speaking words of concern had eyes as cold as winter's night but
said eyes never left the creature before him.
"I am sorry I will not be able to help you here." Richie grinned though the pain evident on his face.
If one looked closely at his lost hand they would see his blood bubbling in a strange spherical manner.
"I see." Lionel didn't give it much thought, letting out a massive grin. What could be more enjoyable
than a steak prepared fresh.
"Talking like a hardly intelligent creature, really knocks people off hmm? How long have I been stuck in this loop? RESTRICTIONS!" The centaur let out a cynical laughter before switching to a dignified voice.
"How long ago was it that they stole from me?" Heavy sounds of what could have only been steps rolled of the tunnel walls.
The creature speaking once more in a dignified voice said, "When have I a general in Lunar's army been so disgraced? When have I, Mako been so demeaned?"
As the last word left his lips, an ax lashed out, a pulsating beauty following in its wake, Lionel who stood before it could only take it head on.
He dodged having his head loped off but couldn't escape the deep gash the replaced his shoulder. He slammed into the tunnel walls, yet somehow remained standing.
Looking at the beast his grin got wider as he said, "Again."
Richie who stood at the sidelines could only shiver a bit as he watched his brother continue on with
pieces of his body missing, 'Remember Lionel stick to the plan.'
At this moment though, the smile on Lionel's face had disappeared his head hanging from his neck as his hair covered his face.
"Finally given into despair I see you persistent bug. Why waste my time when this is all you can do? Mako hasn't eaten for years. Tell me? What will be your last words?"
"Analysis Complete." At this point a creeping shadow seemed to cover the domain.
Lionel's head shot up! He seemed to have lost all sentience and will in his eyes, but the bone chilling cold they carried placed feat into the depth of the soul.
"Interesting. Mimicry appearing in a creature of such inferior capabilities." Mako seemed to have lost his playfulness, now taking a serious stance his as he lowered his axe to the side.
His lips parted slightly as he opened his mouth to speak, "Again."
Before the sound of his voice could fade Mako had already appeared before him axe striking down and crushing into whatever was below.
"Hmm it seems I must take this seriously." Mako let out a devilish grin as his words came to an end, looking over his
shoulder to see Lionel who was behind him in a crouching position, holding a shadowy axe that seemed to overshadow him in one hand.
All of a sudden blood shot out of the centaur's hand while Lionel didn't seem like he could use his free one. But as if such matters were irrelevant a voice spoke out…
"Again."
Richie watched the back and forth between the two who were displaying the peak of what Tier 1 Life forms could. 'This guy will definitely get himself killed! Why are you trying to kill something that's clearly stronger than you?'
He could not wrap his head around Lionel's madness.
They clashed as seemingly equals, Lionel keeping up for what seemed like someone with no prior training.
An eye for an arm, a scar for a leg, a wrist for a rib. Lionel could no longer keep up, his body bruised to the extreme. His hand barely able to hold the axe within it.
"What an insult. A knife wielder trying to use an axe? Pride shall be your downfall. Die." Mako struck down as Lionel got into a defensive position closing his eyes in hope of bearing with the pain, only to be met with a lack of force.
Mako let go of his axe where Lionel thought he was to block, and Mako, grabbing Lionel's face, slammed it into a wall. Lionel tried to keep his eyes on Mako but alas he was too disoriented.
Using the hand that held Lionel's head, Mako began to slam it into the wall continuously. Blood seeped out from everywhere. His mouth, eyes, ears. Lionel's world seemed to lose color, and even the healthy glow of his skin fading as a
cynical laughter filled the room.
"MORE! MORRRREE!"
Mako seemed to thirst for carnage. But why was it that when he looked down, a pair of daggers had seemingly found their way through his chest.
"I see. Well played. Mako had fun." Richie having clearly excecuted his plan perfectly, and with that Mako turned into a red bloodlike sludge that dumped down on Richard who was now behind him.
Putting away his daggers and catching Lionel before he could fall he grinned. "Took longer than you
expected hey?"
"Leave...me...alone...cough...cough. Narsiccist." Lionel coughed up buckets of blood then ignored Richard, "Sigh, we would have made a great dish." Lionel couldn't be bothered to think about Richard when a potential meal had been ruined.
