Mathais lay on his back on the ergonomic chair in his office looking at the paper which he placed on the table in front of him. He was in thought. A very deep thought too. He was thinking about his meeting with the Guns family. Written on the paper was a warning from someone named Duke. Duke? Duke wasn't among the names he had gotten about the Coyotes. He had only five names with him but if Duke was part of the Coyote then they weren't just five as he thought. There were more people in Coyotes but he hasn't got any information about them.
He used his hands to roughen his hair out of frustration. He was frustrated. The fact that he couldn't just get to the end of his investigation tore him down. What was wrong? Why wasn't he getting any clue about them? Were they so smart that they didn't even leave their footprint alive? Who were the Coyotes?
His men had told him earlier that they were still researching who made the volt which was supposed not to have taken more than a day for them, which had stunned Mathias. He marvelled at how everything kept returning to the same place where he had started two years ago.
At that moment he seemed lost and had the urge to stop. Yet, he couldn't abandon his dad. He knew so well his dad was innocent and had nothing to do with the funds but things were getting out of hand. He also didn't want to take the rough path which could lead to the death of his loved one which he had been avoiding but what could he do?
These thoughts busted his mind and it made him weak and exhausted. The only thing for him to do was go hiding and discover the truth but what about Angela?
A slight knock came on the door of his office and he regained back from his afterlife. Before he could answer, the door was already pushed open reviewing Angela's face. She stuck her head behind the door and gave him a warming smile which he gladly returned.
"I'm I welcome?" She requested and Mathias stood up from his chair, giving a sign of his hands for her to come in.
She did and closed the door behind her. She crossed her hands at her back and made a playful step as she strode to him. "I'm hungry." She pouted at him.
Mathias arched his eyebrows at her, "You barely had dinner, not quite long."
"It was a light dinner." She said to him, childishly.
Mathias nodded his head. "I see. Just a light dinner of two plates of cheesecakes and two burgers. I guess it is that light and fluffy." He uttered and took her hands as soon as she got to him. "Why are you awake?"
"I couldn't sleep."
"I know you won't since I'm not there, am I right?"
She shook her head disapprovingly, "Yep and Nope." She mouthed. "I was thinking about my competition." She relayed and jerked herself on him so he could hug her around him and he did, wrapping his hands around her waist and pulling her tightly to him. He placed a kiss on her hair.
"Nancy said she'll be visiting tomorrow." Angie delivered. "We'll be having a swimming practice."
"I accept her coming but I don't like it when she comes to stress you. She should swim all by herself."
Angela looked up at him and met his gaze staring down at her. She hissed, "I'll be having a competition in three days and I only have two days to practice and you still insist I shouldn't practice? You're mean and if you don't like the idea, I better off start going back to my house or better still return to Pennsylvania." She uttered thinking Maths was going to go all bossy on her but he didn't instead he broke out a slight laugh.
"Why are you laughing?"
"I felt I should. Your joke cracked me up." He replied, nuzzling his jaw on her head and sniffing her.
"I guess you agreed to it then." She mumbled and freed herself from the hug. "Thanks, I will leave you to your work."
Maths sensed she came to meet him all because needed him to approve Nancy's coming. He shook his head and pulled her back the moment she turned to leave.
"You're not that smart you know. You've got an excellent boyfriend." Mathias poked fun at her. He pulled her to his chest again and hugged her. They stayed like that for some minutes before Mathias let his hand go down to the back of her thighs, his other hand on her shoulder, and he carried her up in a bridal style.
Making his way out of his office, he carried her through the hallway down to the ace bedroom while she chuckled all the way.
The next day|
Mathias's phone rang out, waking him and Angela up. They groaned from their sleep and slipped their lazy eyes open.
"Good morning." Angela chuckled when Mathias pinched her cheek softly.
"Good morning, angel." He greeted, reaching for his phone. He looked at his screen to check the caller's ID. It was Shed.
"What's up?" He asked and pecked Angie on her forehead before pulling the duvet off his body for him to stand up. He sauntered into the washroom with Angie drooling at his torso since he was putting on pants only.
She tried to return to sleep but she couldn't. She needed a lot of rest as well for the contest since it was a 600m race. At that moment she didn't care if she was going to take the lead or not. What she cared about was how she was going to explain to her manager why she had been away.
She was still in thought when Mathias came back to the room. He was now in a black polo top and black jeans. He was holding black snickers in one hand with his phone in the other. Angie also pulled her duvet away from her hand and went over to him as he was now sitting on the three-seater about to put on his sneakers.
She got to him and collected his shoes then she offered to help him out while he snickered. After she was done, he tugged at her jaw, drawing her closer for a kiss. The kiss was short but steamy and she leaned for more but Mathias whispered that he had to leave and he will be back. She grumpily accepted and they said goodbye to themselves.
