_Angie's Pov_
I made my hair into a messy bun as I stared at my reflection in the mirror. I was looking quite different from what I used to be. Instead of wearing jeans and a top, I had an elegant chic dress on me. I also doll my face with makeup. I was looking weird but more beautiful. I don't need anyone to tell me that.
But deeper inside of me, I knew I was nervous. This was the very first time I would be having a wonderful date with Mathais and I was starting to doubt if it was real. All my life, I had dreamed about this day and it had come but I was anxious. What if it ended like the other time? What if he decided to cut off this relationship we were trying to build again?
I was lost in my thoughts when I heard my door being opened. I turned from my mirror to see who it was only to find my brother smiling dazzlingly at me.
"Your boyfriend is downstairs waiting for you." He relayed and shut the door before I could utter a word.
I heaved a heavy sigh before grabbing my purse from the bed and steered away from my room. I got outside and Maths was already standing beside a luxurious car. I marveled at how much it could have cost. We beamed at each other and I almost cried seeing that Mathias could smile at last. He was cute.
He opened the car door for me to get in and he entered beside me. The lady I had seen the last time was in the driver's seat today again. I looked up at Maths with a frown and he returned it with a raised furrowed not grabbing why I made the facial expression. How could he let someone drive us on a date?
"What's wrong?" He asked and I scoffed away. "You're beautiful in your dress." He complimented and I was glad he did since I was already getting jealous. The girl was beautiful and I imagine if Mathias had done anything with her.
Yet, I didn't want him to know his words were soothing. "Where are we going?" I asked and he turned to me.
"Orleans." He announced to my amusement.
"Orleans?" I questioned and he nodded. "You never informed me about it."
"I was going to tell you anyway. We're going to Orleans to see someone." He said and I was left to keep mute not because I didn't want to argue with him, but because we weren't alone. I would have smacked his head. What a nuisance I fell in love with.
Just then, the lady I was grumbling over called Maths. She even called him by his full name. Hell! The two must have something up their sleeve.
"What's up? Harley." He answered. She's Harley. Yeah, right because she was cute.
"Jack just told me now that they've surrounded the entire house of the coyote." She disclosed and I wondered what she was talking about. I shifted my eyes from her and turned to Mathias who was already staring down at me.
"Harley, I haven't introduced Angela to you, right?" He inquired, still staring at my confused face while Harley replied, "Yes."
"What's your relationship with her?" I asked before he could even start an introduction.
His face beamed at me and I felt stupid to ask the question but Harley didn't even make any action and I knew she might not want to talk about it.
"She's my bodyguard." He answered and I was left to laugh on my own. I laughed so hard forgetting I was making fun of Harley but then, what should I do? Mathias has a bodyguard.
When I slowly ended my laugh, I gave a fake cough. "Harley? That's your name right?" I asked and I could tell she was already in a rage. Like, who wouldn't be, I just made fun of her because she was a bodyguard, Mathai's bodyguard. The thought of it brought out another laugh but I was quick to suppress it. I didn't want her to feel I was making fun of her. I just couldn't think of the fact that Mathias will have a female bodyguard even if he ought to have one.
"Harley?" I furrowed my eyebrows at her.
"Yes." She grumbled.
She was a bodyguard with her outfit, manner of talking, and how she concentrated on the road.
"I'm sorry if I offended you with my laugh." I pleaded so she doesn't have mixed feelings for me. "I never imagined him having a guard, you know, not a female guard," I said.
"Was that why you laughed?" Maths asked and I rolled my eyes at him. I focus my gaze more on Harley.
"How did you guys meet?" I inquired.
"Personal." She divulged.
I wasn't surprised since I had pictured her answer already.
"I've known Maths for a long time now but we didn't get close like the two of you are," I said.
"Are you jealous?" Maths asked me and I scowled at him.
"Yes, I am," I answered and I earned a chuckle from both genders. It was time for them too. Eventually, I joined in laughing but it was fake and they knew it.
I kept quiet after the laugh died out. They made a fool of me. Maths finally introduced me to Harley properly and said they'd met during an occupation. He also made it known in front of her that he wouldn't do anything to hurt me again or cheat. I was elated but I tried to ignore his words since he still hadn't proven it.
We got to the airport and I was shunned again. Mathias got a private jet?! What more could he surprise me with?
"You owe the private jet?" I asked, astonished when we stood waiting for the jet to the turf.
"My dad gave it to me." He shuddered. Most times, I forget who he was when he doesn't even show it off while we were still in school.
The jet landed and we strolled to it, Harley following behind.
"You're spoiling the date again, Maths," I told him as soon as we settled down in the jet.
He took my hands and caress them, "Harley is a good girl and she's no harm. I hope you start trusting her from now on." He said and place a kiss on my forehead.
"Who are we going to see at Orleans?" I asked. I've been trying to ask but many times my thought was cut off.
"My grandmother." He answered.
I was forced to strain my eyes on him, "Did she know about me?" I asked.
Be nodded and replied, "Since eight years ago."
"What?!"
