"I would love to take my leave now." Maths announced when a message popped on his phone.
Angie raised her head at him with affection and wished he would just stay behind for them to talk things right and know wherever they'd missed their inklings.
"Let's go out tomorrow." Maths suggested while she nodded in agreement. She stood up with him and when they got to the door, she took his hands while Maths turned at her actions. Although she was looking as innocent as she was, he knew she was worried.
He exchanged the holding to his and made her look up at him. He bent over to her face and placed a slight peck on her lips and redrawn from her making Angie groan. He smiled and jerked her into a cozy hug. "I love you." He whispered and she sighed on his chest. They stayed like that for some seconds, embracing each other for the past years they had missed. But, it was all good since they were now in each other's arms.
They disengaged from the hug and headed downstairs plugging their fingers together. When they got outside, his ride was already waiting for him as Harley stood to pick up her master. The two ladies stared at each other in their thoughts. Harley thought about who Angie was and why she was holding hands with Maths while Angie was admiring her, wondering why she was the one picking Maths up.
Maths turned to her, "I'll pick you up tomorrow, okay?" He promised and Angie only nodded. They unlocked their fingers and Maths placed a kiss on her forehead before striding to his car. Angie watched as their ride pulled away into the vague night.
Maths went straight to his bedroom and dialed his grandmother's number. She should have called him if truly Julie and Gwen were with her. He just didn't know who permitted them to leave the house. Julie was starting to anger him again.
Maths dialed his grandmother's line yet, after many lines, no one even received the call. He slumped on the bed tiredly. It has been a long day for him. Which day wasn't tiring?
Thinking about his father in the cell makes him run insane at times. He had been trying for the past eight years but it seems everything keeps going and coming back to him. Yet, someone was behind all the mess.
He needed to see that person that was playing cunning with him and it wasn't going to be a fair war. The person had been smart enough to do imaginary things, leaving no evidence behind. But he was bent to find that person and bring him to justice.
He was thinking of another step to take when a knock came on his door. "Yes, come in." He said grumpily and Harley strode into the room.
"The file Mr. Sideon created the last time. We got a signal that someone was trying to invade it." She relayed.
"Track the person down," Maths mumbled and groaned that his back arched.
"He seems to be good at blocking the system while using it."
"Gather everyone for a meeting now." He ordered and made his way to the washroom. He took a slight bath and wore his clothes before heading to his meeting room which was located beside his room.
He entered and everyone who was watching through the video camera greeted him. He answered and stood in front of the projector facing them.
"Riley is out now and we still couldn't get anything from him." Maths related to them since they knew what he was talking about. "I want you to keep an eye on him and make sure every moment of his is in detail."
He shook his head trying to push out the thought of Riley winning over him.
Harley's phone rang which she picked up immediately seeing it was a call from Math's grandmother. She excused herself and went to receive the call.
"Master?" One of them called from the other end.
"Go on, I'm listening."
"We discovered that eight years ago, a volt was fixed in the satellite systems that caused the damage." He delivered and Maths nodded for him to go on. He continued. "The satellites were seriously damaged so there won't be evidence but when we checked thoroughly and discovered that some steel used for the volt wasn't destroyed."
"So?"
"We're trying to trace the origin of the steel and if we're able to find it, then there is a chance we're about to leak some secret out." He conveyed.
"Very good." Maths complimented, "When you're done checking their origin, let one know as soon as possible."
"Yes, boss." He answered.
"And again." Maths said before leaving, "We'll be visiting the family of the Coyote you found the other day. They need to be questioned. Tomorrow before dawn, you should all be prepared." He stated.
"Yes, boss!" The man chorused and the video call ended after he left the room.
He was about to enter his room when Harley called him.
"Mathias."
He turned around to her, "What is it?"
"Grandmother just called and said, Gwen, was administered to the hospital." She relayed.
"I knew it and I'm going to kill those children." He said, aggressively. "What happened to him this time?" He inquired even when he knew what might have happened to the boy.
"Grandmother said Julie and him went into the abandoned warehouse without holding his inhaler." Harley divulged carefully.
Maths sighed. Julie had been a stubborn girl and wouldn't listen to him. She has left for Orleans which he warned her about. He knows they love their grandmother but he didn't want them to disturb her in her old age. "Tell Julie that she'll regret ever leaving and I won't be so easy with her this time." He proclaimed and turned back into his room.
He wasn't stopping them from visiting their grandmother but Gwen was an asthmatic patient. He was so careless with his inhaler that he forgot most of the time to hold it with him. Also, he didn't trust Julie either. Although she looks after her brother she spends more time on an adventure than thinking about herself before she could even think of Gwen.
He was their only protector after their mother who was far away from them now. When his father had gone to jail, she'd developed hypochondriac (illness anxiety disorder) and had been flying to Korea for treatment and he had no choice but to accept his step-siblings. He loved them and he was ready to keep them safe.
