Chapter 67 - HE'S POWERFUL

Maths watched Shed after uttering that statement. Who told him he was not going to see her anymore? He must be joking. Has he forgotten who he is? With only a snap of fingers, he could bring her forth to him. He just needed to give her some space. She was mad at him and he didn't blame her.

He was presumed to be the mad one but he had turned things upside down. He had informed her about his lorn life and it was really bad of him to have said those things to her. Yet, he couldn't hide them from her. She will get to know sooner or later and it was best to let her know now rather than later.

He paced back into his room. This was one of his mansions in Brooklyn and it has been a long time since he visited. It wasn't empty though since his siblings lived there with him, Julie, and her younger brother, Gwen. He had brought Angela there so he could have some privacy with her but all his plans had failed. It didn't fail, he has other plans on his sleeve.

He wasn't going to let what had transpired years back repeat itself, he would be more careful and pledge never to let her go again. Never would she leave his sight again.

He plumbed himself onto the bed and reached his hand for a small cabinet beside the bed. He unlocked it and dragged it open. His hands searched through it and he hoped what he was looking for should be there. He brought out the wrapped weed and put his hands into his pants, brought out a lighter from its pocket, and lit the weed. He let his back lay on the headboard of the bed as he dialled a digit on his cell.

"Mathias." The soft voice came in.

"What's the next update, Harley?" He asked, puffing out a whiff from his mouth.

"Your father's friend, Riley, wouldn't share any information." Harley delivered.

"I bet he won't." He mouthed and squeezed his lips together to exhale more of the whiff, "I will make my way to him." He mumbled.

"We also found one of the Coyotes. He's left the country but we have his family." She disclosed.

"Good, very good. I love that." He praised her.

"What should we do about them?" She asked, patiently as no response came from him for some while.

When he finally spoke, he uttered, "Nothing, for now. Keep a good watch on them."

"Done."

"How's the little girl doing so far?" He asked and crouched comfortably on the bed.

"Talks too much, wouldn't fit for a spy." She muttered.

Maths nodded his head as she could see him.

"I need you here in Brooklyn, Harley." He uttered and kill out the light from the weed, hitting it on the cabinet.

"I have to go_"

"This evening." He cut her off her words, "I need you here before dusk." He confided.

"Okay." She said and the call ended.

Mathias stood up and went out of the room, sauntering down the stairs. He called unto the maid and the boy ran over to him.

"Where's Julie?" He inquired.

"She_" he paused and threw his gaze down to the floor.

"Speak now or I slice your throat!" Maths threatened, strutting to him but the boy was smart enough to move back.

"She left a message saying she's going to Orleans with Gwen to visit_." The boy answered, gripped with fear.

"I'm going to kill both of you!" He snorted and turned his way out of the mansion. He sauntered to his car and entered, pulled in the ignition, and drove recklessly out of the compound.

He buzzed his men with calls and informed them about his next location.

After about 20 minutes of driving, Mathias drove his car into a gigantic compound. He checked on his men and they were already surrounding the place.

He came out of the car and was ushered in by maids. He didn't even reply to the salutations given to him as stridden up the stairs and burst open the door of a room.

"Well, well, who do we have here?" He asked as sarcastic laughter came out of his throat.

"I know you will come," Riley uttered after Mathias's laughter dried out.

"Of course, you know," Maths said and entered the room fully.

"You vulnerable men came earlier, I gave them no information, you can't get any from me either," Riley said, turned around from the window he was in and two furious eyes met each other.

Maths could see how unshaven he was, his hair and moustache. His red top hung freely at the nape of his neck and his black trousers tightened on his legs. He looked like someone who had escaped from hell.

"You look like shit." Maths spat and a thunderous laugh filled the room, "I barely recognize you again. I'm sure the cell has done a good thing for you. You shouldn't have been released."

Riley's laughter increased, "They finally found out I'm not supposed to be in there."

"Sure," Maths mumbled and moved to sit on one of the sofas located in the middle of the room. He sat positioning a crossed leg on the table in front.

The room was tranquil for some minutes as the two watched each other. Riley had just been released from Jail after 1 year. Mathias had taken him to jail for inspection over the fund files that had been missing for the past eight years. Mathias claimed he had something to do with it since his father had trusted some files with him.

However, Riley was proven innocent after one year of being in jail and he was back home. It infuriated Mathias that he was released quite too soon while his father, Sideon, was crumbling in jail.

"You're a betrayal." Maths said. His tone was calm but with his facial expression, one could tell he was serious and meant his word, "My father shouldn't have trusted you."

Riley smirked at him, "Your father knows how dangerous I am, he won't just listen. Tsk tsk, he trusted me too much."

"Say that once again!" Maths growled at him.

"I'm not afraid of death."

"I'm not going to kill you."

"Oh! You're not." Riley teased, "Then you won't be able to stand me."

"Yeah, right," Mathias said and brushed his hands over his hair. He was getting frustrated but he was trying to keep his cool. He needed quite some reasonable information from him and he didn't plan to kill him soon. He wasn't going to suffer him yet, he just needed to find something that would make him spill out his hidden secrets.

Maths stood up, "I'll be back soon for you." assured and moved closer to Riley, grabbed him by the collar of his cloth, plucked him to the edge of the bed, and tightened his left-hand elbow on his neck, he bent over to him because he was a little bit taller than the fragile man, "and you will speak with much respect to me."

Riley snorted under his grip before he yanked his hands off him, "Tell that to your weakling father!"

Mathias' hands turned into fists at his words, "Don't talk about my father that way!" Then the fist turned into a big hit on Riley's face which made his head snap and hit the headboard behind him.

Mathias didn't allow him to say a word before he turned around and leapt out of the room with fury.
